Everything about this home is geared towards lovers of minimalism. Your hosts employed an architect to ensure that nothing is present that needn't be, removing the distraction that excess creates to leave a clean and uncluttered space that's perfect for disconnecting and switching off. Any omissions in terms of amenities aren't oversights from the hosts. Instead, they’re considered decisions taken in partnership to maintain an aesthetic while creating a comfortable space that works for you – the guest. The hardwood floors, comfy sofa and blonde wood give the apartment a Scandinavian feel. Climbing the ladder up to the mezzanine floor adds a touch of adventure to bedtime that makes you feel like you could be in a cabin in the woods and not central Milan. Given the burgeoning bohemian scene in this part of Milan, that feeling couldn't be more appropriate. Just north of the city centre, Isola marches to the beat of its own drum. The neighbourhood is blessed with independent boutiques, colourful street art, and a community feel that's rare to find. The cherry on top is your proximity to Artico Gelateria – home to the finest all-natural, hand-turned ice cream in the city. We found it almost impossible not to stop every time we passed by – which was a lot. Home truths: *The kitchen doesn't have a dishwasher or an oven, and you'll have to ask for the microwave *The sofa can be turned into a single bed if needed *You can only reach the mezzanine with a ladder – there isn't a staircase *Breakfast is provided *Though you probably won't need a car, there is paid on-street parking only *There are three metro lines (M2, M3 & M5), and many trams within a 500-metre walk *Your hosts will be on hand to greet you on arrival
