I could say that I'm an expert in hotels. I first worked in one of the best hotels in South Carolina under a strenuous and demanding training programme in 1968 and have since stayed in the full range of hotels from the greatest, storied hotels of the world to dusty, roadside motels in rural Nebraska - and all levels in between. The Element Wako provides the best conceivable value for an American hotel possible in America today. This didn't just happen. I asked to speak with the Hotel Manager, Ankit Bhakta. I found him educated, elegant, courteous and, I have to say a hotel visionary. He is also a partner in an independent local hotel group clustered around Waco of which this is but one of maybe five if I recall. I enjoyed the bar of the hotel until late and was downstairs to observe early morning preparations beginning at 5:00 am in the morning. One of the early morning staff made sure that the coffee (delicious) was ready for me within minutes. It was a joy to see what is possible but not practiced in any hotel in its price range today that I have visited. I listened to other guests. Their experiences mirrored, though through less practiced eyes, my own. They loved it. A full service hotel at a moderate price? Ask yourselves, when did you last come across such a place conveniently located just off of the highway? For young people the answer will probably be "Never." All staff were pleasant and knowledgeable - maintenance, the desk clerks, the lady cooking breakfast to order in the morning, and to the General Manager himself. It is a pleasure for me to review the Element Waco, and I will certainly be staying there again if I don't choose to explore another of this hotel group's offerings in Waco. If this level of quality for the money is its trademark, I can look forward to staying in any of them. This visit we were just passing through. For a longer stay in Waco I might try a downtown location of theirs. I would call Mr.
Ankit Bhakta, the General Manager, asked me to comment on any trouble spots I observed in addition to the areas I praised. My only question was: "If the hotel were to have any older, mature staff, could they opt for a nametag that read Mrs, Ms, Mr, etc... rather than just a first name. (I'm old school about this sort of thing.) His read, "Ankit." He gave an intelligent and thoughtful answer on wishing to present an informal, approachable image to guests but that of course if, for example, Barbara Smith wished to be called Mrs. Smith, that was her prerogative. There was nothing I didn't like.

It was unassuming outside & pleasant surprise inside!

Having a friendly chef on hand at breakfast was an unexpected surprise. It certainly elevated the traditional lobby breakfast!

The hot chocolate was delicious.
We stayed in a street side corner room where the noise through the window was loud from sirens and 18 wheelers.

Excellent property, clean rooms, friendly staff, great outdoor area and gym.

Breakfast was ok, but the staff was awesome.
More bubbles needed in the hot tub...lol

Awesome bar with quality drinks and food. Everything else was really awesome! Even had filters in room for clean drinking water! I will be back
I was only surprised that breakfast offered no meat protein options. That is all. Maybe next visit they will.

It looks like they were short staffed.

Beautiful, well decorated, great amenities! Loved the signature fragrance. Great seating areas to relax and talk while having a drink. Bed was comfortable, shower was great.
We came for a romantic evening and hopefully a relaxing dip in the pool. Did not happen. There were large families staying there and kids were everywhere running around inside with wet bathing suits, yelling, listening to loud music, well up to 10 pm when we finally got frustrated and went upstairs.
Breakfast the next morning was a really nice setup but a little confusing on how to order at the window. I guess we showed up too late and asked for bacon and eggs and the lady behind the counter was rude telling me eggs only! No bacon! I could order my eggs and then she was done, no more today. I awkwardly ordered eggs over easy and dodged numerous children to walk back to our table and ate them in shame.
Was told different prices online and in person and it ended up being $145 a night plus a $50 deposit. Checked my bank account and I was charged $145 twice. Front desk staff was visibly annoyed when I was checking out and politely asked about the double charge. Said I would get my money back and gave no explanation why. We left feeling ripped off and frustrated. We were hoping more for an adult friendly upscale hotel but sadly it did not end up that way.

The hotel is very clean, smells fresh and is really comfortable. We were impressed with the facilities in the room and lobby… the pool is a lovely extra we used on both days of our stay. Great location for our visit to magnolia. Would definitely book again.
The bathroom tiling isnt great, surprised it was signed off, but this isn’t really a complain, just an observation.

I loved the vibe, cleanliness, how quiet it was, the amenities like the pool and games outside, but the breakfast in the morning could have more options. Our room was amazing, I loved the small details, like the full size shampoo and body wash, the pots and utensils in the bedrooms, my name on the t.v, the coffee machine downstairs, all those details really elevated the experience.
I loved it all.

My family loved the restaurant, happy hour, pool, outdoor games to keep the kids entertained, the size of the room, overall style of the hotel. Though the hotel is on a busy street, the parking lot is large and fit our sprinter van in the rear of the property. In the rear of the property it felt quiet and safe. I would stay here again if going through Waco. The kids wanted to stay longer.

This is a new property which I wasn't aware of but it had the best night sleep we had on our whole trip.

Great design concept in the lobby
Need more people working the restaurant. Bartender was AMAZING and she was doing double duty by working the bar and restaurant. She did incredible but the hotel truly needs more staff. Her drinks were incredible!!

It was a really nice place I liked the kitchen / breakfast. Very modern. There was enough there to enjoy the hotel experience.
I wish they would have taken the trash out for house keeping.
