On the outskirts of Truckee, and right by Donner Lake (Tahoe’s smaller, less crowded cousin), Sugar Pine has every base covered to make for a great outdoors holiday. Along with the sheer size, which makes it excellent for larger groups and multiple families, the home has pretty much every amenity you can think of, from the private spa (with sauna and steam room), two barbecues, enormous TVs, a games room, and even underfloor heating (a game-changer after skiing, trust us). These all make it seem like an oasis in itself, so the fact that you have vast numbers of outdoor activities on your doorstep – from skiing to hiking, boating, golf, and more – leaves you spoiled for choice.
