La tranquilidad para dormir
El baño, le hace falta lavamanos, y la cama, fatal las almohadas

Location
Room was like a prison cell with steel doors.
Very small room.
Electrical wiring in shower was dangerous - wires joined together with insulation tape.
Shuttle organised by the hotel does not pickup at the hotel, but 1km away.
There are far better hotels for this money in Antigua (eg El Conquistador).
2.5
Quiet hotel in a great location. Very nice staff and family-run feel.
Poor value for how expensive it was. Very small room and bathroom, shower did not work well. For $40/night, I'd expect a little better (even in Antigua).

So moldy I was physically ill the next day. The smell was atrocious.

the staff were very nice, and it has a great location. it’s pretty clean overall
the room was very tiny and really felt like a jail cell, just a bad vibe in the room. stayed in much nicer places in Antigua on this trip for much less money

Overall clean, friendly staff
Room very small and worn, Bed extremely soft and sided, Strange electrical installation in the shower so that you get an electric shock on the handle when you turn on the water

Great location.
Room was tiny. Kitchen was disgusting. Bathroom passable. Noisy owners/staff.
Price expensive for what's provided. Called a hotel but hostel at best

Hotel Alma Maya is in an older building, which makes it cheaper, but it is very clean, has kitchen facilities and colorful murals, and has a friendly, helpful staff. They let me leave excess baggage when I went to El Salvador for several days. I use Antigua as my base and always return to Alma Maya. Convenient location near the local market and a supermarket. Several blocks from the Central Plaza.
I was happy with my room, but some people would find it rather small and a bit dark.

It was comfy and nice looking, and very conveniently located and would have been a very good value but for one thing.
TThey PADLOCK the door from the inside at night so you CANT GET OUT. They dont tell you this in advance. I told them i had to check out at 6 a.m.for a tour and they said to leave the key at the desk. When I went down in the morning i couldnt get out. It took me quite a while to find a series of paper signs with arrows, hard to see in the dark lobby, that led you around to a buzzer to push for someone to come let you out. They took about 10 minutes after that to leisurely saunter down while I was missing my shuttle. You do NOT lock your guests in without their consent like prisoners. Insanely unsafe also in the event of a fire or any emergency. They should be charged with false imprisonment.

kind and helpful staff, location is unbeatable
lost power in the hotel, part was restored within 12? hours, was not restored (in my area of the hotel) until after I left - not sure how long it took. staff was super understanding and refunded the remainder of my stay so I could find lodging elsewhere.

the kitchen wasn’t really clean.

Really dirty and noisy. The room smelled very bad and the floor was dirty.

In general you get what you pay for.. The upside was that the location was perfect, just in front of a big supermarket and a short walk to everywhere you want to go in antigua.
The beds were very uncomfortable and we were pretty sure that the workers stole our food from the fridge (other guests told us the same). In addition, The kitchen was .extremely dirty

Carlos is doing a great job at the reception, answering all questions and trying to help. Hostel close to the bus station and market, in front of a Big supermarket, real hot water in shower, clean room. Luggage room to store bags during acatenango hike
We had one of the more quiet room but when a big group of young israelian people is there you can't have a good sleep, also a part of the staff is often talking loudly in the morning/evening.
Kitchen is ok but sadely due to guests it is always durty

Great location, very good kitchen

Localization and super nice and helpful staff.
The rooms are super small, very humid and smelly.
And the typical "suicidal showers" with the electrical wires placed no matter how...
We stayed in 2 other places after this one, cheaper and so much better.

overall good value for the price
