Lovely, mellow energy, a little closer to nature. The hosts were absolutely fabulous- kind, lovely, intelligent people and they made incredible bread every morning! Private and secure, very clean. An easy drive to Oxford. An easy walk across a beautiful wldish area of the Thames, to an excellent and enjoyable pub.
I was a little disappointed that I didn’t actually get to use the bathtub as there was not really enough hot water. I wish I had understood the expense of parking in Oxford, before deciding to rent a car and stay out there, honestly, I think this still worked out better overall though, and I would be happy to return there. The hosts really went above and beyond.

Very good allround
Breakfast could be upgraded, not everyone can eat sourdough bread although excellent, some more variety jams would be good

Room was comfortable.
Firstly, this is not a guest house, it's just a private home that rents out a couple of rooms. I was asked to take my shoes off at the door! Slightly ridiculous & infantilising when you've paid for your own room and space.
Secondly, I had an emergency at home so actually had to travel back and forth from work in Oxford. I asked for some help with that ie maybe a refund on nights not used but was told no because he wouldn't be able to re sell the room. Of course he was within his rights but in circumstances this seemed unhelpful. I also doubt this room is in constant demand.
Thirdly, an enormous security gate is closed against the property, I was given a code which when i returned late at night after work would not open the gate. No answer on phone, after half an hour of trying the code again and again, the daughter of the family finally opened it from inside so i could get in, only because she heard me from her window. If she hadn't i would have had to find a hotel. I was pretty upset but was offered no real apology just "I have no idea why that happened".
Finally, the shower just veers between scorching hot and cold.
Why is the distinction between guest house and digs important? Because I wouldn't have booked digs, they weren't what I was looking for, and because price wise, digs are significantly cheaper. Although this property is cheaper than hotel chains in Oxford, £360 for 4 nights is still a lot more than digs offered in peoples homes.

A really nice guest house in a location that was within easy reach of all the amenities. Good breakfast. Excellent host. Extremely clean.
It was very close to a main line railway and the trains were very noisy and frequent. They also ran late into the night.

The location was wonderful! We were a short walk to an excellent pub at Sanford Lock, on the bike path to Oxford and the Thames River Path. We had a car and the drive into Oxford was 15 minutes, but there is also nearby bus service if you don't have a car. Breakfast included freshly baked bread and honey. Nadia and Ric were warm and welcoming.
This is not a negative, just details that one would like to know in advance. The bathroom is not en suite and is shared by 3 rooms (no more than 4 people). This was not a problem. There is no A/C but an excellent floor fan.

Ric and Nadia are delightful hosts who offer a friendly and comfortable experience. I got on great with the other guests and enjoyed easy access to Proof Social Bakehouse, river walkways and central Oxford. Will be staying here again for the next visit to Oxford.
Nothing.

Always a pleasure to stay. Relaxed and able to unwind at my leisure.

Very friendly hosts, lovely and clean room and a private drive for a car if you have one.
The only negative was the curtains in the room, as these let quite a lot of light in, and as we are in late spring the sun comes up quite early.

Very clean.
The listing was extremely deceptive. The bathroom was shared. This was not stated clearly anywhere and I would not have booked under any circumstances if I had known this. There was no breakfast provided or even suggested. The location was not Sandford, as might reasonably be expected from the name of the guest house. It was in a dark backwater of Kiddlington which is an inconvenient and unappealing village. The parking is very difficult. The host seemed pleasant, but this in no way makes up for the totally inadequate experience. If we hadn’t been exhausted after a long journey and with a heavy day of work ahead of us, we would have left the property and found an alternative. This is NOT a guest house. It is a multi-room AirBnB type place. Definitely NOT recommended.

Lovely clean modern home.

There are two rooms available, a double and a single. I stayed in the double and it is a very good size room on par with the better "proper" hotels that I have stayed in. The single actually had a double bed in it so two people could get in but the floor space would be a bit of a squeeze. I didn't fully realise until I got there though that this is not a guest house, it's an actual house - a home. The owners were discreet and not in the way at all and the bedrooms are well away from them but it was new experience for me to stay in a property of this type.
You are sharing a bathroom with the other guest room. This is not an issue if you are the only visitor, in fact it's really nice to have a large bathroom / bath / shower to yourself. It's not a problem if the other room is occupied by others in your party. But, it wouldn't be very nice if the other visitor was a stranger and you're having to get dressed to go to the bathroom for fear of bumping into someone. The kitchen facilities are actually the house's kitchen and therefore shared. There really ought to be a kettle in the bedroom so that you could have a cup of tea/coffee when you first wake up without having to get dressed and go downstairs into the family kitchen

A perfect stay. Ric was a great host, personable and tremendous instructions before arrival. Room was spot-on for me and I was able to enjoy a quiet and uninterrupted night during a busy work week.
Nothing comes to mind.
