About this apartment rental
Within walking distance to Alyeska Resort, and almost anywhere else you would want to go. This space is priced for two people. This cozy, ground level place can accommodate up to four people with a queen bed in each bedroom. Close to the Girdwood airport, this property is also on the shuttle route which is a free service that accesses all of the Girdwood conveniences. Pets are welcome, upon approval for a $30 nightly fee per pet. If you feel that the extra animal/person fee is too expensive, and the value isn't there for you, please don't book this place. The coin-op washer and dryer take quarters, are $2 each and are shared with the upper unit in a common laundry room.
This is the ground-floor unit of a two-unit property in Girdwood/Alyeska. If you are sensitive to noise this property will not be the best fit, as reasonable activity from the upstairs unit can be heard from below.
It's self check-in so late arrival is not a problem. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival.
Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for $50 if arranged at least 24 hours in advance.
Host Kelli happens to be a co-owner of a large tour company with over 20 shore excursions throughout Alaska, mostly in Southeast Alaska. She offers a 10% discount on all tours offered by Alaska Travel Adventures to her vacation rental guests. Unfortunately, Alaska Travel Adventures doesn't currently offer any day tours in the area. If you are going on an Alaska cruise, this offer may be of interest to you. Popular tours in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka include whale watching, salmon bakes, river rafting, kayaking, canoe tours, boat tours, hiking, gold panning, private cars, Mendenhall Glacier tours, Jeep tours, and more., ask us for the details.
This property has an Alaska-themed mural on the bottom level, which is the concrete block foundation. The cabin was built in 1964 and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and a block foundation installed creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later the lower level housed "the bike shop". When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted to a two-bedroom dwelling unit, but we decided to retain the mural which features a malamute which was owned by the local librarian. We will strive to provide the best customer service and improve as we go with feedback from our guests. We hope to earn your five-star review! Please Enjoy your stay with us!

We arrived at 4:26, check-in was at 4 pm and the cleaner was still inside. I called and texted the number on my email confirmation and received a text back 15 min later asking me to text another number. Texted that number and another 15 minutes passed before they advised me to “go on in, she will leave” but I obviously didn’t want her to leave before finishing. She left at 4:55 and we entered the property, I immediately noticed there was dirt all over the left side of the entry next to the fridge and the whole place smelled dirty and stale. It appeared the floors had maybe been vacuumed but definitely not mopped. Interior was very shabby and outdated, much more so than the pictures indicated. We did not stay, we left the property and went to a friends house.

Very accommodating hosts. It was just a quick stay for four of us and the dog. Would recommend to anyone that's looking for a quick and easy stay in Girdwood.

The place is tired and needs refreshing. The yard area is very unkept. No screens on the windows so no way to let fresh air in without letting in the mosquitos.
