Absolutely the most amazing place. I have never been to Dauphin island but the friends I traveled with had visited the island a few times prior. Everything was amazing. The house was perfect. My friends even said it was the best place they have stayed on the island. 10/10 recommend.

Beautiful house close to the water.
2.0 / 5.0
The place is OK. The biggest thing that would help make it a better stay is just more cooking utensils in the kitchen. Freg does not seam to be working as well as it should. The thermometer the the freg stayed at 45 degrees so I feel the owners know something is up with it or that would not be in there. I know with a few things added it would be a better place to stay at. The covered porch in the back I very nice. BBQ grill was something we did enjoy cooking on.

This house was perfect for us. Very clean and laid out well. Was very short walk to the beach and could park under the house. Kitchen is well stocked and everything worked on the property. Will definitely want a return visit

We loved this property! Our goal was relaxation and we met it! The sound of the Gulf waves was exactly what I envisioned. The private drive and parking right at the steps was convenient for loading/unloading and parking under the house provided shade for the car. Loved having steps off the back deck to access the beach which is essentially shared with the 3 other houses in the immediate area. It was a perfect scenario. You can even see dolphins chasing the fishing boats from the deck!

We loved our stay at this beach house. Right on the beach and close proximity to the water. We could sit on the back deck and enjoy seeing and hearing the gulf. It’s so close to the water that it was not a chore to walk to the beach. Some of the family could be at the beach while others were on the deck and could still see each other and talk. We enjoyed playing cornhole on the deck with the board/bags provided. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Overall the stay was good.
We did find the house a little dirty in the kitchen upon arrival, trash cans smelt like old sea food. There was not a broom in the house and I contacted Vacasa twice during our stay and never received one. I walked on sandy floors the entire stay.
There were some cosmetic issues with scuffed walls and a few small holes in the walls in 2 of the bedrooms. The trim on all of the base boards looked incomplete with nail holes that had not been filled in. A few of the doors drug the floor when opening and closing. I know this is picky but for the price I expected a well put together vacation home.
This house is on the west end so no beach in front of the homes, some access between the front rough of houses. We were there at a time with high level rip currents and high waves due to tropical disturbances in the gulf so this led to flooded road on our last 2 days of our stay. Of course that is mother natures fault. I recommend not driving a low profile car in case of flooding. It would be nice to know in the description that there is limited beach front.
A few things that I recommend that need to be added to this house that come in handy at other homes we have rented: extra linens and blankets, there were none here. A guide of the island with restaurants, activities, and places to visit. Luckily we have been to the island at least 6 times before and we’re familiar with it, but definitely would come in handy for newbies to the island.

The house was spacious enough for 6 adults and two toddlers. Customer service was great to deal with on two items that needed to be corrected. The items were corrected the day that they were reported before noon.

The house was beautiful and well laid out. Because I’ve traveled to the south before, I knew bugs and cockroaches would be a possibility, only had 2 the entire stay. The proximity to the beach and water was amazing. Sitting on the deck with Coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening and having the surf sounds started and ended the day. Be prepared for steps and lots of sand. Plenty of dishes, utensils and cookware. Bring storage containers, I left some. Will definitely consider a return trip!!

Had a wonderful time relaxing! There were high winds and rip currents during our stay, but being able to sit on the back porch somewhat protected from the elements allowed us to continue to enjoy our trip!

Great size house for families. Nice beach access and quick walk to west end public beach. A few palmetto bigs made their appearance and scared kids, but overall wonderful experience. Great price too!

We loved that the house was a few steps from the beach. The space was awesome. We will stay again. The management was responsive. We really enjoyed our weekend.

My family and I thouroughly and I mean thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Waverly. The home was beautiful, the view was beautiful, we had good TV and internet connection when we needed it, the host was very responsive to our needs. We had to take away a star however for a few things.
1. The sheets in the master bedroom were dirty on arrival. We notified the host and they had housekeeping out within the hour to remedy the matter. I do appreciate how responsive the host and the housekeepers were and they were very apologetic about this.
2. Roaches...when we arrived we noticed 2 dead roaches in front of the laundry set. Over the course of our stay we killed 6. 2 in the living room, 1 in the master bathroom, 3 in the guest bathroom facing the water. We notified the host of this and they had pest control out immediately to spray. So hopefully the next tenenants dont encounter the same issue. Again much appreciative to the host and their reaponsiveness. We did notice dead roaches in the vacuum cleaner when we were cleaning up to leave so it may be an issue that the housekeeping staff is not communicating back to the host.
3. Driveway...it is soft. So if you have a smaller vehicle you may not be able to park underneath the house. Also says parking for 4 but the cement only could accomodate 2 under the house and there is no street parking. There is a small access road but it is also used by the house in front. It wasnt an issue for us with 1 car, but may be for others.

This a great peaceful spot towards the west end of the beach. It is a second row house but you still have a beautiful view of the beach. The 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms is a definite plus. The kitchen was pretty well stocked except for a large cooking pot. The cornhole boards would have been great but we couldn’t find the sacks to play with anywhere in the house. The one thing that was really concerning was the flooring throughout the house. This definitely needs to be addressed. The floor in the kitchen is coming up and there are several soft spots. In one of the bedrooms there was a piece of plywood down with a rug over it so I can only imagine what condition the floor was beneath. The bathroom flooring was coming up in this same bedroom. There was obviously a leak at some point in the house. The only room that didn’t have soft spots in the floor was the master bedroom. With that being said we love the house and location minus the flooring issues.

The house is in a great spot.
However we were not told that there were major problems with the floors. The kitchen had a spot about 2' x 6' that was cracked so bad you couldn't stand there. After we checked in the maintenance guy brought a piece of plywood out and laid it on there to cover for the week. We placed towels and rug over it.Several other places in the unit are doing the same thing.
I can't understand why the cleaning people or someone didn't notice it instead of laying a rug over the hole.

Me and my family loved everything about Waverly Retreat in Dauphin Island, AL. It was just wonderful to sit on the back deck and look the ocean and feel the wonderful breeze. There is a house in front of Waverly Retreat had no problem with that. Made some wonderful friends from Oklahoma. It was great to bring our fur-babies with us.
3.0 / 5.0
Pros: Home was beautiful; nice large deck off the back with “roof cut outs” to get more sun; each bedroom had it’s own bathroom; even though it is a second row home it is still right on the beach; parking right in front of the house.
Cons: There was a bad spot in the floor; there was something (we suspected to be chocolate) on the side of the sofa; home is not stocked well (i.e. pans, papertowel, trashbags); we had to take the grill tank to be filled ourselves as it was empty; had to call and have sheets brought for the two of the beds as the sheets that were on did not seem to be clean.
With that being said, Vacasa was quick to respond. I had new sheets for the beds within about an hour. Someone came in and looked at the floor and discovered that there was a water leak.
This was our third trip to Dauphin Island and our least favorite of the houses we have stayed in, but overall, we had a great vacation!

Overall, this house is great!! Plenty of room for our whole family to spread. Even though it is a second row house, the views are amazing! The house was clean when we arrived. 2 things - 1. There are several soft spots in the floor. Especially the kitchen. 2. The driveway can be a little tricky. If you get into any of the soft sand, you can easily get stuck. This happened to us twice. Luckily we had guys with us who were able to get us pushed out. These are 2 things that should be addressed. This is not ruin our stay though! We loved it here!

Waverly house was great! Beautiful decor/furniture, perfect floor plan (bathroom for each bedroom, bunk room bath is in hallway for easy access). A few minor maintenance issues that we reported to managers, and hopefully corrected promptly. The biggest bummer about this house was the location. There is another house LITERALLY in front of it, blocking the view to the Gulf. Which also means we had to move to the side for beach space, that is shared with 4 houses total. If you’re used to having a house directly on Bienville with private beach like we are, this isn’t it.
5.0 / 5.0
This house is in a great location with easy access to the bayside. It was also an easy walk to west end beach. Nice private beach area (shared with a few other houses)just off the back steps. The house itself was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was a little sparse. Very few cups, wine glasses, and cooking utensils. There were also only 2 beach towels available.
We loved staying here and really enjoyed the laid back vibes of Dauphin Island.

House well appointed. With second tier location, still view and easy access to beach. Accommodated our group of nine without any problem. The ladies loved the kitchen with all appliances and all necessary items for preparing great meals. Spacious deck and no parking problems. We will be back next year if we can get everyone together!

Very nice and new build right on the beach. Yes there is a house in front (so this is second row) but still great view and very close to beach for hauling out all the beach gear. Would easily return again.
4.0 / 5.0
Overall it is a great house. Only complaint is the house that is directly in front is close.

House is set back just 50 ft from the beach in a quiet section of the island. House is nearly new and well-maintained.

This house was very nice and clean. We had a few issues that the owner may want to fix. . The bathroom door on the east side that was attached to bedroom needs the door hinge repaired. The dryer wouldn’t dry our cloths without multiple dries and the filter was cleaned out prior to use. Vacuum wouldn’t work (may be operator error 😂) . The blender had a crack in the pitcher. With all those small things , we still loved our stay and your beach house is a beautiful place.
4.0 / 5.0
The second row location is not a loss, at all! Gulf views & breezes, curtains inside for privacy since you are in close proximity to house on 1st row. Bonus is parking under house. Steps from the beachfront, no hauling all your goodies across the dunes.
2.0 / 5.0
The home was wonderful in itself. The home was behind another home which was not a problem. What we did not like at all was that there was no beach to walk on and to sit out under an umbrella - you had to sit between houses. We decided to go out to eat one night and the only two restaurants open closed at 8:00 and stopped taking people about 7:00 because they couldn't handle any more. The local grocery was out of everything. Thank goodness we had some frozen meat that we thawed in the microwave and cooked it on the grill. it is obvious that there are not enough restaurants to support the number of visitors to the Island. Sand surrounded the house including the driveway and under the house. We parked under the house in a parking space and as we were backing out one day, our truck (Ford F150, not small truck) got stuck in the sand and we had to be pulled out by another truck. We ended up parking on the side street but it was tight with about 6 other cars. If we had known about more that the house itself, it would have been nice. As I said, the house was great, especially the very large deck on the back. If the house was on a decent beach, it would have been excellent. We left a day early and won't be visiting Dauphin Island again.

Perfect rental!
Our stay at Waverly Place was absolutely wonderful! It doesn’t get much better than being right on the beach in a beautiful home. We have five children so the convenience of not having to tote beach toys, chairs, and a cooler back and forth every day was incredible! The house was stunning and clean. We literally have not one single complaint other than if you are coming with a family, the kitchen is seriously lacking in essentials. There was one small glass casserole dish and that was it. So, bring some from home if you plan on cooking meals because it is definitely not equipped for cooking meals for families. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyable family trip
We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Good location close to beach. However road was flooded most of trip making it difficult to get around. House was very clean when we showed up but each morning there were roaches throughout the house. Couple broken chairs on porch. But overall we would recommend this house.

Love Dauphin Island
House is beautiful and has everything you need. Loved being right on the sandy beach. Sitting on the west corner of the deck you have a great view of the gulf, otherwise you are looking right into the house in front of you. From inside the house there is no direct view of the gulf (except maybe a little looking out master bedroom patio door) -- you really are looking right at the house in front of you. The houses are very close together here. House was very clean and new. Loved the beachy feel inside. Plenty of towels. Appreciated the beach towels and extra blankets. We weren't aware that parking would be an issue for my Mini Cooper. A storm surge arrived the night of our arrival, and good thing we had parked on a high sandy part of the driveway because Vaca Ct as well as most of the area under the house was under water. The driveway was not a great place to park regardless because of the steep incline; Vaca Ct worked well once the water was pumped out. That being said, Vacasa was helpful, even going as far as picking up our groceries for us as our Cooper was stuck for about 5 days. They are a kind and friendly group working at the local Vacasa office. Additional note: I worked from home while there and the internet was reliable and the dining room table and chairs were comfortable.

Was a beautiful stay. The house has everything you need!!!
Dolphin Island is quiet and not too packed!
The only thing to remark is, please check the nails heads on the veranda. Some of them need to be driven in again…
