About this house rental
Please note: There have been instances where VRBO accounts have been hacked and scammers ask for payment via wire transfer. WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR PAYMENT BY WIRE TRANSFER!
Beautiful 2 story waterfront home on St. Helena with million-dollar view. As you sit on the dock, you have a nine mile view across the marsh to the next habital land. You can sit on the floating dock and see sunrise and sunset from the same seat. The home itself has 4 bedrooms and 4 baths. The separate guest house sleeps 2 more with a private shower and kitchen area. The home and guest house sleep 13 comfortably. If you need room for a 14th, it will be a fouton. Our home includes outdoor kitchen, fire pit, pool (not currently heated), stunning sunsets in a quiet area. Bring your boat, kayaks and fishing gear to the deep water dock with minimum 10 ft of water at low tide. Crab traps provided.
Right across from popular local sandbar and "Monkey Island", an isolated island previously used to research Rhesus monkeys. Many visotors have boated or kayaked across and have seen them. Please note: You are not allowed to beach a boat or other vessel or walk on Monkey Island. It is forbidden by law.
Perfect location, 20 minutes to historic Beaufort, 20 minutes to Parris Island for Marine graduation (Bridgett and I offer our sincerest thank you to those who serve and have served, are currently serving or are about to serve our great nation) , 20 minutes to stunning Hunting Island State Park with 4 miles of beaches and a lighthouse that you can climb. We include a yearly park pass with the rental in a centrally located notebook. This will get one car in for free.
Home includes a downstairs king bedroom, upstairs double queen bedroom (2 queen beds), upstairs double twin room (2 twin beds), upstairs king room, upstairs futon. Each room with its own private bathroom (except the futon). Separate guest house with a king bed, private bathroom and kitchen space.
Pictured fish were caught right off the dock.
Interior has been painted and upgraded from listed pictures, new pictures coming soon. We have gotten many questions about the pics showing one queen bed in the upstairs bedroom, rest assured, there are two.
For those of you who bring a boat, the nearest boat ramp is Eddings Point Landing, just 1.6 miles from the house by car. You drive right past it to get to the house.
At this point, we do not have satellite TV. We have TV's in the living area and each bedroom except the upstairs king. We have a large selection of DVD's and a player with each TV. Presently, we don't offer satellite TV but feel free to bring your FireStick or Roku.
We also offer a limited book exchange, so take a book and leave a book.
Lastly, I wanted to mention just in case...the interior of the home has a number of places where you have to step up or down to get to the next room. Our home is not handicap accessible or friendly for this reason. If you or your party is able is able to walk up the steps to the front porch to enter the front door, you will have no problems inside.
Additional note: We now have trash service. Yay! This is something not previously available to us. Pickup is on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The trash bin is a roller that you should move out to the curb on the days before. They do not pick up recycling, so you will still need to take that yourself to the recycling center if you choose to recycle (instructions in your welcome package should you book).
We have gotten a number of inquiries about the coffee makers. We have a standard drip and Keurig in the main house and drip in the guest house.
We trust you will enjoy your stay. If you have any concerns during your stay, do not hesitate to reach out.

Escaped from the grind at this low country treasure of a home. Night one, kids caught 9 sharks off the dock. The views were spectacular. If this house had a theme song it would be Otis Redding’s Sitting on the Dock of the Bay. The home more than comfortably slept 4 adults, 2 teens, and 3 littles.

Communication with Eric and Brigett were excellent, and there was more than enough room for all of us. However, there are several issues the owners should address: Black mold in the bathroom (under the sink in the upstairs). Guest house: broken handle on toilet, hot water doesn't run in the bathroom sink, and wall is coming apart above the shower head. Outdoor kitchen was filthy. Outdoor fire pit knob is broken, had to prop a table up against the knob to keep it lit. Outdoor chair pads by the pool and around the fire pit are filthy and need to be deep cleaned or replaced. Pool was to be cleaned 2 times per week, but he didn't show up until Thursday afternoon and that was the only time. Large fishing hook on the floor boards on the dock. Thankfully none of our grandchildren stepped on it. Tried to use the sweeper and it didn't pick up anything. The TV in room with 2 single beds has a Blu Ray player didn't work. The pier is not safe, left side in the middle. It dips down and despitately needs. The floor right inside the front door dips down under the rug so can't open the door all the way. The bed in on the main floor has no support in the middle so it dips down with 2 people sleeping int it. I left some items behind at the house and the cleaner was kind enough to get them sent back to me. She was great about keeping me informed.

The location of the property was amazing! The backyard with the pool, view of the water, and hang out/bar area was pure perfection for a warm summer day. This trip was planned for memory making with 3 families, hoping to give our children an amazing coastal experience, and we accomplished that and more. The layout of the home was great. Every bedroom had a designated bathroom so there was no need to share! Common spaces were large enough to accommodate our group, but honestly, the outside was so phenomenal, we were rarely in the house. The neighborhood was quiet, just the way we like it. Previous reviews mentioned the dock leaning. That was not the case at all. Maybe the owners fixed it, but there was literally no lean at all. My husband and I are on intercostal docks several times a year, we assessed the dock in low and high tide, and our was very structurally sound. Just sharing in case that comment was a deterrent for someone. The dock was a sanctuary for seeing marine life. The drive to the property was beautiful because you're passing water on both sides or skirting next to a hobby farm. I can't wait to go back to this house!

This property is on a beautiful lot; however it is important to note it is not in the condition as pictured. A few notes:
1. The bugs inside are very bad. It is not from leaving a door open. The bugs are coming through the windows in the addition on the house and eat you alive at night.
2. The house is dirty. The ceilings and hvac vents are covered in dust. The carpet is full of stains and the floors are rotten/soft upon coming in the front door. Leftover used bar soap was left in the shower. The oven looked like it had never been cleaned. We had to request the pool be cleaned because it was so dirty. The owner did send someone out but said it is only cleaned once a week.
3. The dock is in poor condition. It severely slopes down on the left on one side and the right on another. Im not sure if its safe to walk on and the sides are also falling down. If I had kids, i would not allow them on the dock.
4. It is on a nature preserve and they burn stuff all day. Its hard to enjoy the pool when you smell burning mounds of earth all day. The animals are fun to look at. You also will need an SUV/ truck if it rains because the road turns into a lake in one area.
Overall, my family was extremely disappointed in the condition of this property. It is not as pictured and needs to be professionally exterminated and the windows sealed and deep cleaned.

Our stay was for three nights. We enjoyed wonderful views, lots of wildlife (especially birds), lots of space and different types of space with pleasant decor, a quiet area that’s not touristy, plenty to see and do within a 30 minute drive, generous amounts of cookware and towels, good internet speed. Travel to the house is partly on dirt road that became extremely wet/muddy with standing pools in the rain showers one day and the next day, though passable in a sedan. Indoor cleaning was mostly very good. Outside seating areas were plentiful but the seating could have been cleaner. Communication was adequate. Take your own shampoo and shower soap (there is hand soap, however). I would recommend staying here for the many good features.

This property was the perfect place for our large family! We were there visiting family, the large outdoor kitchen and fire pit area was amazing and just what we needed! We seen dolphins everyday and even caught some blue crab right off the dock! Defiantly rebooking this place next year! Thanks for sharing your place! Thanks scott

We were a group of 11 ladies there for a retreat for 2 nights in Feb, the large common space and large bedrooms worked really well for us. The kitchen had everything we needed plus a nice assortment of seasonings plus any kitchen accessories one could want and a huge gas grill outside to work with. There are updates happening in and around the house. The setting is peaceful, almost no through traffic and very quiet neighborhood. The pier, glider out at the end made full moon even more magical! Eric was very clear about the check-in and check-out procedures a day or 2 in advance which I loved. I would definitely stay again!

Everyone day dreams about the perfect vacation, fun times with family and everything going so smoothly. But does that ever really become the case? This time it did for us. We had an absolute blast at this place during my son's USMC graduation. We fished, we played games, we cooked, we even became friends with a special needs deer that was always in the yard. We will absolutely be back if we are ever in the area again.

We had an amazing vacation and stayed in this gorgeous home. We recommend it 100 percent. It is located in the perfect serene spot. It's a perfect location to all activities... beach, kazoo factory, restaurants, shops and not far from charleston. Also loved being next to the animal rescue farm!!

We love Saint Helena Island! We found this place to stay and it met everyone’s needs. We have avid fishermen in the group so the deep water dock and nearby boat launch were perfect. Plenty of space for the 4 couples and 2 children. Everyone had their own room and bathroom. The pool was amazing to enjoy with great views!! Outdoor kitchen area was nice for relaxing!! We will definitely choose to stay here again!!

Our group of 12 people, ages 6 to 70, all really enjoyed our stay. Catching and cooking crabs was a highlight for several, as that is not something we can do at home. The outdoor pool provided a lot of fun since the weather was in the mid-90s each day. The views were amazing, allowing us to actually see both sunrises and sunsets from the dock. We enjoyed spotting dolphins and deer from the property. And everyone really appreciated that each bedroom had its own bathroom. We enjoyed day trips to Beaufort, Charleston, Savannah, and Hunting Island while there. A great vacation for our family!

Our stay was as close to perfect as could be. The house was comfortable and well laid out. The pier and pool was more than fun. The views and sunsets were fantastic. We had great luck catching stone crabs.

We took a large family group down (8 adults, 4 kids, 1 infant) to St Helena Island for a nice long summer getaway in the SC Low Country. We’ve visited the Beaufort and Sea Islands area several times and it has easily become one of my favorite places ever! Everyone on the trip had a wonderful time and loved the house! The home is beautiful, exactly as described and was large enough to provide ample space for our entire crew. Being on the water with a dock to fish and having a pool for the kids and family was perfect! We did visit the beach at Hunting Island a few days but found staying at the home all day to be just as fun and relaxing. The sunrises and sunsets on the dock were equally as amazing and the wildlife around the house is plentiful to say the least! We caught several shark species, crabs, an eel, stingray, and other fish. We watched hundreds of dolphins from the dock, met the local friendly deer and enjoyed watching the crabs and birds. If you value character and relaxation over commercialization, you can’t go wrong with this one! Thank you for letting us vacation at your home! We’d come back a million times over!

the views from the property were awesome. Sunrises & sunsets amazing. House has plenty of room and loved the outdoor lounge kitchen area, great place to clean our crabs and hang out. We seen dolphins & shark, just wished we had better luck fishing but that's how fishing goes. Appreciated the state park pass, that beach was one of our highlights to see. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, off the beaten path tucked away from all the busyness. We had a great time and would stay there again. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, and would highly recommend it. The house was clean, the property manager was easy to get ahold of and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The home is spacious and every room has its own bathroom. Also, this home has a gorgeous view of the water and a nice dock for fishing, crabbing, etc.

We were 8 staying here and loved it. The house is excellent and very well appointed. The guest house is luxurious and provides a good place for someone to be separate from the main house but together with the group. Saint Helena Island is very nice and there are fascinating things to do, and it's an easy 10-15 minute drive to groceries and essentials. Another 5 minutes and you are in Beaufort, an excellent city with charm and history. We can highly recommend this.

I loved the space and the view from the backyard. The outside required us to tidy it up prior to being able to enjoy it. Bird poop was everywhere, leaves and rugs were out of place. This place had a book of rules that made it a little uncomfortable to stay my focus was more on monitoring toilets, trash and leaving to eat out because I really wasn’t sure what was acceptable to cook I love fried chicken so that was a NO. There were also nets that fly around in the house. Also I had the most horrible experience of seeing a huge white rat caught in a trap in the garage. Scared me to death on my last day.

WOW, this property was everything and than some. The house was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We were visiting for my sons graduation from Parris Island and could not have been more pleased with our stay. The house was great and it was so nice that every bedroom had a full bath. The views from outback were amazing, as was the covered outdoor kitchen. Nothing beats a great sunset and the sound of water crashing on the rocks. Our stay in December was awsome, I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer. The host was very helpful and communication was spot on. Thanks for the hospitality.

5.0 / 5.0
Everything about this property far exceeded our expectations. The location, the neighborhood, the water, the home itself, everything was just perfect. We were in town for our son’s boot camp graduation and we loved having this almost secluded hideaway to escape all of the chaos that graduations bring. The family members that stopped by to visit also loved it! It is about 25 min from Parris Island, which was perfect for us. We have been a military family in some capacity for 20 years and love being able to escape base for a more relaxed atmosphere. Being able to fish and crab from the dock was especially enjoyable! My only complaint, that really isn’t a complaint, is that Topical Storm Nicole graced us with her presence. However, this house was the perfect location to weather the storm! Having coffee on the front porch with TS winds was actually fun! Next time, we will book in warmer months so we can use the pool! That was the only aminity that didn’t get used! We were even lucky enough to be visited by Mr. T, the rescue deer from the neighboring farm! He had us worried at first. It’s not everyday a seemingly wild animal walks right up to a group of kids expecting a treat! But Mr. T was a very welcomed visitor! We called Beaufort home once upon a time and this visit made us consider calling it home again! Saint Helena Island has always held a special place in our hearts. It is home to so many important memories for our family and now we can add our oldest child’s boot camp graduation to the list! We have stayed at many vacation rentals and this is the only one I can confidently say we WILL return to. We even left something behind after checkout and the host was extremely helpful getting us back inside to retrieve it. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. Thank you for what our entire extended family is calling the best family get together ever!

Very glad this great location made it through the hurricane. The owners made check in very simple. Very quick to respond to any question we had. Everything in the house was ready to go. Plenty of room in all the large bedrooms. There were 8 of us, and there was plenty of room for all of us to sit around living room. Outdoor cooking space was very convenient. The pool was a bonus. The location was just far enough out of town to not be busy, but a very short drive to anything you need. Many things to do in the Beaufort area. But we spent most of our time just relaxing on the long pier, enjoying the dolphins swimming by. Thank you very much for a great week.

There were a few problems with the house which we assumed were because of Hurricane Ian the week before. Repair work people might have left the dirt marks. A few things need repair. We took photos and will send to owner if wanted. Lovely house, lovely view. All was appreciated.

This is a beautiful home in a gorgeous location. Eric was easy to communicate with and very polite. We came just on the heels of hurricane Ian; Eric and Bridgett worked hard and took time to make sure everything was ok so that we could still come. I can’t understand why anyone would complain about anything regarding this home or the host. Taking your own trash really isn’t a big deal nor walking a few steps to bring ice in if needed, and yes the Lowcountry has plenty of bugs as expected, none of that should reflect negatively on the host. As another review mentioned the view of sunrise and sunset from the same spot is very special. We loved this place would love to come back and stay again.
5.0 / 5.0
Where else can you stay and get sunset AND sunrise views? A beach at low tide, great fishing on a gorgeous long pier and docks, and the views were gorgeous! Add to it that this house had a bathroom for EVERY bedroom, was clean upon arrival with a sparkling pool and manicured grounds, this truly was one of the best properties our 14 person group has stayed in over the years. We were there for our annual Labor Day weekend gathering and the area and beaches were remarkably uncrowded. The house had just about everything that we needed although the ice maker was out of commission during our stay. The main kitchen is slightly dated and a little tight (galley style - also functioned as the main pass through from front door to back door) but we made do utilizing the guest house refrigerator and kitchen to supplement cooking for our large group. Be prepared to haul away your trash and recycling to a nearby center a few times during the week as there is not any trash service and only one lidded trash bin in garage. Luckily one of us had rubber lined trunk space.
There is a private petting zoo (Sutcliffe Farms - available by appointment only) a short walk down the street - the farm owners were lovely and the varied animals were so sweet.
We enjoyed walking the street (bring bug spray!) and enjoyed meeting the friendly neighborhood deer (she loved her scratches) who had obviously had some sort of neurological disorder after an accident of some kind.
Eric was quick to respond and lovely to work with to make this a most memorable experience! For future renters, as an FYI there are security cameras on the exterior of the property which feels slightly invasive in the backyard but we understood the need to protect such a gorgeous property.
Thank you, Eric, for sharing your lovely home! We'll be back!
4.0 / 5.0
There were many great features in the home; however, there was a number of downfalls. Not having an ice maker of any kind inside the home was a real issue (none in even the refrigerator) so we had to haul ice from the large ice machine on the side of the house into house whenever needed. Also the refrigerator at the outside bar and grill area, shown in the pictures of the home, was locked which was a pain while grilling. As a side note, as a pool owner myself, owner needs to find a different method for chlorination. The floating chlorinator gets stuck in the skimmer, blocking the intake for not only debris but the water itself. We also had an issue with some type of beetle/roach looking bug that came up from the water area and ran everywhere - up people's legs, etc. it was creepy. I know the owner can't control nature - but it was really creepy.

There appeared to be a friendly deer hanging around the property that you just got used to but don’t let your guard down! The deer charged my 7 year old granddaughter and hoofed and tried to bite her until we ran him off. She was traumatized. We think it was going after her toy stuffed animal but who knows.
There was a lot more bugs hanging around then we expected and the no trash service put us off. We had to bring our trash to the dump and were only allowed to go twice a week…..so imagine my Lexus suv loaded with trash in the rear that smelled and was infested with bugs because it had to be stored in the garage with only one bin. We also felt the kitchen and fridge was small for the size of the house.
On the positive side, we enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and sitting area immensely. We also loved the separate cottage that worked wonderfully for my sons new baby. The large dock was fun to walk, fish, and crab off of.
5.0 / 5.0
If I had to describe this property and our trip with one word, it would be exquisite.
For starters, the house is 100% accurately depicted online when you walk into the door. Actually, the host's have made upgrades that weren't in the photos but were welcoming. This house has everything you would need in a vacation house and more. There is more than enough comfortable seating for everyone in our group of 11. The pool is a great feature to have to cool off in the summer. The dock is beautiful and well-kept with lights so you can enjoy a night sitting out there. Eric was quick to answer any questions we had. In the handbook at the house, it suggests a boat rental company to use if you want to go boating. I would highly recommend using them.
My only complaint is that we could not stay longer.
5.0 / 5.0
What a terrific deep water dock house perfect for family groups! We have spent 4 summers off Eddings Point Rd, always bringing a boat and this will be a favorite for future visits. It was clean and comfortable. Although our weather wasn’t quite as sunny as normal, we hardly noticed because of the overall great experience we had. We visited for an entire week with family and friends. The bedrooms were spacious, well accommodated and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone had their own space. There is ample seating (2 large sofas and 2 comfy recliners) in the living room which made it well situated for a group and the game table was a hit. My niece and her hubby really appreciated having a separate guest house with their own kitchen to stay in with their 4 month old. We made daily trips in our boat to the sandbar and enjoyed having the pool to float around in. But the best amenity was that outdoor entertaining area! It rained several nights but instead of being stuck inside, we were able to sit by the fire pit on the covered patio and enjoy remaining outside. We loved having local friends over for a low country boil. As an avid cook, I was appreciative of the top of the line small appliances and well stocked kitchen. I even ordered the same blender when I got home which whipped up the perfect pina colada with ease. Incredible restaurants are a short drive (highly recommend the Shrimp Shack for lunch and Foolish Frog or Dockside for dinner). On nights we cooked, it was a blessing to be able to purchase fresh seafood and vegetables a quick drive away. If you want oceanfront, the beach and lighthouse at Hunting Island are also a short drive and owners are kind enough to provide a pass. For shopping excursions or historical tours, waterfront Beaufort is only 15-20 minutes away. Eric is a thoughtful host and he was very prompt with any questions we had. We just can’t say enough good things about this house.
