About this house rental
The entire ski chalet in Girdwood/Alyeska is all yours for your Alyeska retreat! It holds two private units, each with private access. The upstairs unit features three bedrooms. Two with Queen Beds and One with a full-sized bed. The loft is the only room on the third floor and is equipped with a mini refrigerator/freezer, microwave, closet and dresser space, nightstands and floor lamp, and TV with streaming capabilities. Basic amenities are provided to make your stay comfortable and convenient. There are two small rooms on the main level. The open floor plan makes it easy to entertain, and visit with your group while cooking and lounging. The downstairs unit has two bedrooms, both with Queen-sized beds. Both units have a full kitchen. The three-bedroom apartment can accommodate 6 people and the two-bedroom apartment can accommodate 4 people. The most appealing feature is its great location, within walking distance of almost everything, and now with the free shuttle, it couldn't be more convenient! There is a nice mountain view from the loft bedroom and huge living room windows. Both units have a living room with a TV, so you can access your streaming apps and watch movies or enjoy other app entertainment that you may have. Both units each have a small bathroom. The upstairs unit has a tub and shower, while the downstairs unit does not have a tub. It's pet friendly (subject to $30 nightly per pet fee). The coin-op washer and dryer are in a common laundry room, shared with the lower unit. The laundry machines take quarters and are $2.00 each.

Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. Early check-in and late check-out options may be available for a fee of $50.00 with at least 24 hour advanced notice.
Host Kelli happens to be a co-owner of a large tour company with over 20 shore excursions throughout Alaska, mostly in Southeast Alaska. She offers a 10% discount on all tours offered by Alaska Travel Adventures to her vacation rental guests. Unfortunately, Alaska Travel Adventures doesn't currently offer any day tours in the area. If you are going on an Alaska cruise, or are interested in RV travel, this offer may be of interest to you. Popular tours in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka include whale watching, salmon bakes, river rafting, kayaking, canoe tours, boat tours, hiking, gold panning, private cars, Mendenhall Glacier tours, Jeep tours, and more., ask us for the details.
This is a cool place with some historic references. In 1998, Kelli bought the place to live in and considered painting over the Alaska-themed mural, but some of the Girdwood residents lobbied against it, including the librarian who stated that it was her dog painted on the property. She never painted over the mural, and now it seems appropriate to keep it that way. The cabin was built in 1964 and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and a block foundation installed creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later the lower level housed "the bike shop". When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted into a two-bedroom dwelling unit.

Coin operated washing machine, really! Everything is a little bit broken, window shades, door handles, etc.

Our group stayed here while attending a wedding in Girdwood. The location was great--very walkable to the center of town--and the house itself was perfect. The upstairs unit in particular has a lot of character, and all the rooms were great for our purposes.

Location convenient and a good stopping point before flying out the next day. Ate at top Mt. Alyeska...beautiful.
This VRBO is more of a dorm style chalet. Only 1 full bathroom for 3 bedrooms. Did have room darkening curtains that were helpful for a June stay. Floors are squeaky, and beds were too soft upstairs
7 adults rented both units and was a tight fit due to only 1 full bathroom for upstairs use.
Did have 1 USB light port on a bedside lamp

Kelli & this property was amazing! They were so accommodating to get us an early check in for our friends and family coming in from out of town. The location was perfect, so close to the brewery and just a short walk to town. Everyone loved the mural outside.

Great place to stay-super convenient!
Great place to stay for a big group. Right across from the Girdwood brewing company. We even got to see a little black bear during our stay! Only thing that was a bummer was that it was a coin operated laundry machine. We only stayed there one night and just wanted to do a couple loads since we just came from camping, but unfortunately didn't have any coins on us after checking in after 4pm. I just feel like for over $1500/night (not even for 24 hours) it would have been nice to at least been able to do that.

Home away from home
The property was my home away from home and couldn't have asked for more!

Great house, great location
The house is as advertised, clean and has everything you need. But the best part for us is that is directly across the street from the Girdwood Brewery which has amazing beer and food trucks. And you can easily walk to coffee shops and restaurants
