About this house rental

A characterful cottage located in central Swanage, with easy access to the beach, the town centre and local attractions. It is the perfect place for a family to stay that are looking to explore the nearby town and all that is on offer! 
On the ground floor is an open plan sociable living, kitchen, dining area which leads out to a paved garden with a seating area for al fresco dining. On the first floor is the master bedroom, family bathroom and shower room. Leading up the wooden staircase to the third floor you will find the second king size bedroom.

It is a lovely cozy cottage, well decorated and comfortable two double rooms with nice bedding. The cottage had all the basics and more. Great location for walking to town, the beac and hiking to the Old Harry Rocks and coastal cliffs. Loved it!

After spending several October half-term breaks at Canford Cliffs on the other side of the Studland ferry crossing, this year we decided to change things up and book a stay in Swanage which we've visited many times for the beach, restaraunts, shopping and amusement arcade. Farthing Cottage is a charming terraced fisherman's cottage located on a quiet lane off the High Street, accessed by a discreet gate, and benefitting from total peace and quiet and all the amenities Swanage has to offer. The cottage itself is set over three levels and has recently been renovated to a very high standard, whilst keeping the original features such as flagstone floors on the ground floor and rustic floorboards on the first and second levels. The furniture and bedding is clean and comfortable, and the overall attention to cleanliness is second to none. The original stairs are a little steep - no problem for two adults and a 9 year old child - although could be challenging for someone elderly and less mobile. There is a bathroom with a bath-shower and a walk in shower room with a powerful shower. There is free on street parking nearby and a lovely walled, flag-stoned garden to the rear of the property. In terms of location, Swanage is within easy reach of Corfe Castle (via the Swanage Heritage Railway), Studland and Knoll Beach, Kimmeridge (for keen fossil hunters), Winspit quarry at the quaint village of Worth Matravers, and much more, including two sublime restaurants - Salt Pig in the town itself, and The Pig on the Beach a few miles drive away. There are also numerous restaurants and cafes to choose from in town (The Fish Plaice is a go-to for fish lunch or supper). Overall Farthing Cottage is one of the best family or couple friendly properties we've ever had the pleasure of spending a week at and we're planning to return in the spring and hopefully make use of the garden.
