About this cabin rental
You belong among the wildflowers. Fresh style, relaxing mountain views, and beautiful custom details. Perfect home for families. We set it up with all the things we would want when we visit: a well-stocked kitchen, strong Wi-Fi so you can watch movies or work, well-thought-out spaces for kids and adults. We are at the end of the street, overlooking undeveloped mountain space. Enjoy the stained-glass windows (and Tom Petty inspired) Wildflower Cabin. Because "you belong somewhere you feel free.”
You will enter the cabin into our beautiful living room, with high, knotty-pine ceilings and a cozy wood stove. The views of the undeveloped mountains around the home are inspiring and relaxing. Settle in to watch a movie on our large television. The kitchen is well-equipped, with excellent pantry space and new appliances. There's a monitor and laptop dock workstation where you can set yourself up for work from the luxury of the mountain.
The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed with comfortable, refreshing furnishings, and a full bathroom next door.
Up the renovated staircase, you will find the reading nook on the landing, with a library full of games and books. The spacious primary bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, as well as a cozy chair to enjoy some reading. A vanity and sink connect this bedroom and the upstairs bathroom.
The upstairs "bunk room" houses two twin bunk beds, plus a trundle (for a total of five twin beds). It is decorated for imaginative play, with a custom wildflower mural that our kids helped create. A folding twin mattress located in the closet can also be added to this room or be used elsewhere in the house as a sixth child's bed. We also provide guests with a pack-and-play, stored in the closet, and plenty of sheets and blankets for everyone.
The two upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom.
This house would be perfect for two families traveling together with kids, or for three generations on a trip together. This home sleeps 4 adults. The remaining sleeping spots are children's beds.
The couple that originally built this house created the beautiful stained-glass windows. The mountain flowers, built into the house, inspired us to name the cabin after Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" album. We think you DO belong among the wildflowers. And, in honor of our love of music, we put one of our family pianos and a guitar in the living room. We encourage guests to use them, and we hope that you enjoy.
Both of our decks face the mountains, with nearly total privacy. We provide a propane grill and outdoor table so you can cook and dine al fresco. The outdoor rocking chairs are perfect for savoring your morning coffee or sipping a glass wine and gazing at the stars.
Our family loves spending time in Julian--there are lots of fun adventures nearby, from hiking to wine tasting to visiting the shops in town. And, even better, we love being able to hang out in this relaxing cabin, enjoying a retreat from everyday life. Since it's at the end of the street, and the windows face across to the undeveloped mountains to the west, it's an especially beautiful getaway.
This home is located about 2 miles south of Main Street, Julian and about 5 miles north of Lake Cuyamaca.

Guests are welcome to park in the driveway or in the garage.
We are completely available to guests during their stay. However, we do not interrupt guests unless necessary.
Unfortunately, there is no public transportation around Julian. You will need a vehicle to get around.
We also own and rent a two-bedroom house across the street, The Littlehale house a "Stunning Custom Retreat in the Trees." We built that house on property that had belonged to our grandparents; their original home was lost in the Cedar Fire in 2003, and we rebuilt a new house for our family to continue to enjoy. Now, as our family has grown, we are grateful to have been able to add this cabin, which was lovingly built by friends of our grandparents. When we're able, we use the two houses together so there's space for everyone; you could, too.

All of this is just so you are aware for other people. We were still blessed enough to stay.
1. Internet didn’t work for about 24 hours
2 The website states in the “description of beds” that there are two twin beds in addition to the bunk beds in the “kids” bedroom. That was not the case. There was, infact a brindle bed but there was a fold up “twin pad” that was dirty laying in the master closet, that was also dirty.
3. The “kids” bedroom closet was also dirty.
4. The sliding glass door to the sitting balcony (without bbq) did not open.
5. Propane was empty (we had to fill it up a bit ourselves)
6. Garage was filthy and outside the door of garage was trash bags spilled over from dumpsters.
7. Towels in the dryer
We as a whole just feel like things could have been more prepared for our arrival after paying a significant amount of money.
With all due respect,
Roxxanne K

The beds were comfortable. We loved the coziness and warmth of the fireplace. The stained glass windows are so pretty and the views are gorgeous.
The cleaning crew could do a better job. There was a pull-out cutting board that hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival and water was pooled at the bottom of the fridge with pieces of food floating in it.
We stayed for one week and there was only 1 roll of paper towels provided, 1 additional roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no extra trash bags. A couple extra of each item would have been appreciated.
The owners left a handmade “Julian” kitchen towel as a gift for us which was a nice touch.
We enjoyed our stay here and were very comfortable.

This was our second time staying at this property, and once again, it did not disappoint. The home and furnishings are beautiful. We love the secluded and peaceful location, yet an easy drive from town and surrounding activities. The owners are easy to get ahold of with any concerns or questions. They respond in a timely manner and are quick to address any issues. The only cleaning requirement is to wash and put dishes away, so checkout is pretty easy compared to some other rentals we've stayed at. It's the perfect home for our group, and we definitely look forward to staying here again in the future!

This is a comfortable home set in a canyon close enough to town for convenience but with views of wooded hillsides on the decks. We enjoyed listening to the owls hoot at night and watching the birds and bunnies during the day.

This is a lovely cabin. It was perfect for a family/friends vacation. It was clean, and had some fun games for the kids. We loved having the piano and a place for music. Samantha from Julian Homes & Happenings was fantastic and helped us right away with any issues we had. We hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at this wildflower retreat! The property was clean and had everything we needed plus some fun things for the kids. My kids loved their bunk bed room and playing on the piano! The property management company was exceptional! Communication was great - timely, honest, and detailed. We had to postpone a couple times due to snow storms and they communicated with us throughout the process and were understanding with our needs as well. The property is also really close to town which was nice. I'd definitely stay here again!

Julien Stay for a Family Wedding
The house fit our needs very well. Two seniors traveling with our daughter's family with 3 young children for a family wedding.
5-10 minute drive to town. Close to hiking trails.
Would stay again.

Close to Julian, quiet, well stocked. Hoped to bike to Julian but the road is too narrow, i didn't feel it was safe to do that. They did have a lot of road construction going on but i don't think they were widening the road so keep the bikes at home. Wood fire stove kept the whole house warm.

Beautiful Home with everything we needed!
I enjoyed a lovely birthday getaway at the Wildflower with family including 5 kids and 4 adults. There was plenty of room and we all slept comfortably. It was the first time I used a wood burning stove but felt confident after watching provided video! Kept the home cozy on one of the evenings there was a storm and outside temp dropped into the 30s. We enjoyed playing the piano, games and reading books provided. Had most meals at the home as the kitchen is fully equipped with everything one could need. Julian is beautiful and green especially in the spring with all of the lilacs, daffodils and white oak. Close to many family friendly hikes as well as the charming town of Julian where we had a lovely tea at Julian Tea and Cottage Arts and so many options for apple pie (found gluten free and vegan options at Apple Ally). So grateful to be able to getaway and stay in the home with so much personality! Will be back for sure!
