This is a lovely, comfortable house, full of thoughtful amenities. Communication with the hosts was clear and easy, the neighborhood is charming, and our group couldn't have been happier!

wonderful hosts that provided lots of helpful tips and suggestions for exploring New Orleans. The home is quintessential Nola design. It was great to have a secure, inclosed back yard for our pup. The beds were all very comfortable as well.

From the moment we arrived we were met with the color, charm, and personality of the neighborhood. The rental was sweet, inviting, comfortable and clean, with loads of New Orleans character, as well as modern amenities and creature comforts. In the mornings we enjoyed walks to the coffee shop on Coulet St, and also ventured to Rosalitas, the local taco shop. Both 5 out of 5 star establishments! The host was beyond flexible and wonderful to work with. We could not have enjoyed our stay more!

I stayed here the day before my wedding as I wanted a spacious spot to get ready in and have nice pictures. The house was extremely spacious and as pretty as the photos. The host was responsive to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The only thing I would make sure to plan for is that there is a train near the house that needs to be taken in consideration for any travel time as it runs frequently and is kind of hard to get around if it’s running.

We had a wonderful stay in this home. There were 6 adults in our party. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The outdoor deck is a nice feature too if you want to hang outside. The neighborhood is great. We walked to lots of breakfast and dinner spots and felt very safe. James the manager was super accessible throughout the booking process, check in and check out. The house had everything we needed. Great place to stay in NOLA!!

The house is nice inside and looks just like the pictures. I stayed with my wife and two daughters and all three of them mentioned that they did not feel safe in the area. Most every house and building on the entire block has graffiti on it, I wanted to attach some pictures of the area as a reference, but that was not an option. Before the owner responds something about my charter like he did to me in private emails, the truth is the area didn’t feel safe to my wife and my daughters.
James and I had a disagreement on the occupancy number, and this is how he reacted to me on five separate slandering emails.
1. “You’re a lowlife liar”
2. “You are making yourself and family look like white trash”
3. “You are a liar”
4. “Lying scumbag”
5. “In fact you are a lowlife, liar and white trash? The fact that you posted proves that you are also narrow-minded, and bigoted. You saw a black person in the neighborhood? Oh dear, the neighborhood is dangerous! If I had known this about you, prior to your request, I would have declined your stay. We don’t want white trash like you staying in our vacation rental.”
For the record my wife was born in Compton, CA, my Dad and her Dad both worked in Compton most of their lives, we have lived in downtown Los Angeles (9th and Grand) and I currently work throughout Los Angeles daily, so to slander someone about a honest feeling of an area seems aggressive.
I am just leaving an honest factual review.

My friends and I had a great time staying at the well located property. It was a short drive to the French Quarter. But the neighborhood it’s in is also really nice to walk around and find vintage stores and local restaurants. The house is BEAUTIFUL and comfortable! James was super accommodating and responsive.

This home was a great base to explore New Orleans. It's walkable (1.5 miles) to the French Quarter, but there's almost no need; the Bywater neighborhood itself has a ton of charm and some great restaurants. James was very easy to communicate with!

It was a great place. It really lets you experience what it is like to live in a New Orleans neighborhood. The hosts were very communicative and responsive!

Inside vs outside
Felt safe inside not so much outside. Neighborhood run down. Understandably so with storms in the area.
The overflow on the claw foot tub was detached and water went every. Parking was impossible.

Loved this house in Bywater!
My family and our dog stayed here for my sister’s wedding. It was very comfortable for 5 of us, the amenities were wonderful. The location is close to great restaurants and cafes, as well as all of the action in the French Quarter. We like definitely stay here again!

Wonderful home, excellent property manager but…
We stayed here for 2 weeks and REALLY enjoyed our stay! The home is beautiful, the kitchen was VERY well appointed, more than enough supplies were provided, beds were comfortable (bring your own pillows), back deck was a great respite after a long day of exploring and James (the owner) was kind, responsive and helpful! We grew to adore and appreciate the Bywater neighborhood as well. However, it’s important to be knowledgable of the neighborhood and specifically the location of the home. We had my husband’s 80 year old mom stay with us a couple nights and navigating the sidewalks was difficult for her. If you have young children it is near a busy street. BUT, that is it…everything else about the location was what we expected, and the home/our stay exceeded expectations :)

Family vacation
We enjoyed our stay in the Bywater. Location is great. Close enough to French Quarter to get there quickly, but far enough away to avoid the noise and crowds. Good restaurants near by. There was a hiccup with the internet, but owner was very responsive and got it cleared up quickly.

Bywater style!
So stylish and comfortable! Fantastic common spaces, kitchen is super well appointed everything you could want to prep an amazing meal- of course we ate out all the time as the neighborhood has dozens if great food choices. Having galaxie taco next door was a godsend. The master bedroom is large and super comfy, big bathroom with shower and tub, and separate area to do your makeup. Rainfall showerhead lacked great pressure and the water took a while to get hot- typical for historic homes. Two downstairs bedrooms share a nice little bath. Two living rooms to spread out- great back porch which we used all the time. Location is perfect- the Bywater is my favorite area in New Orleans!

Beautiful home
What a lovely home! We had plenty of room to spread out and everyone had their own space. Very clean too!
The neighborhood is eclectic. We had some issues with internet while we were there, but we were also some of the first guests since Ida. Hosts were very responsive.
