We came with a family of 18! The house suited us beautifully! We had most of the kids upstairs in the loft with girls on one side and boys on the other. All of the bedrooms had very comfortable beds. 3 bedrooms had their own private bathrooms which was really nice. The property is secluded enough the kids could run around outside without disturbing anyone. We would gladly stay again!

Not very clean, there was even still leftover coffee and used grounds in the coffee pot when we arrived. Trash bins were still full from the people before us. The grill and black stone were absolutely disgusting with food and grime. We had to clean and scrub them before we could even think of using them. Dishwasher was unhinged from the wall. There is a sign hanging that states that only three water sources can be used at a time or water will automatically turn off altogether and you have to call maintenance. Seems that should be mentioned online rather than finding out upon arrival. Only one pool stick had a tip. There was a hornets nest outside one of the bedrooms near the swing. We texted the number given for assistance and no one ever responded. Not enough towels were provided for 20 people. Just alot of things unfortunately and would not stay here again.

Very nice and cozy place for 20 people

The pictures on line of course were deceiving. The property needs repairs and basic upkeep. The dishwasher was not secured to the cabinet. The kitchen faucet needs repaired. Except for the master bedroom, the house looked “tired”. At least four of the outside chairs did not have seats that were useable. There was garbage still in the outside cans from a previous renter and this was not emptied during our stay. The hot tub’s jets and temperature was subpar. The pool table cues were all missing the cork tips. General upkeep of house was poor. This is our first time renting from VRBO and will make us think before we would again.

We loved your home and location! We had a few issues, including two very dirty grills (with food parts left behind). We called and you sent someone up right away, however, did just a mediocre job at cleaning. We ended up cleaning both extensively ourselves. The closets were unusable until we cleaned them as well. The outdoor waterpark was not open yet and most of the indoor park (the kids section) was shut down for renovations. You should state on your listing that you need to contact the waterpark ahead of time to inquire about closings.

Could not be any happier…Hensley Hollow Lodge was fantastic!!!
We were so pleasantly surprised at how a home that can accommodate/slerp 22 was truly spacious enough to be together without being on top of each other and the views were spectacular!
Beds (& pillows) were very comfortable. Easy drive (10-12 minutes) to a grocery. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you might need (2 coffee pots and even 2 crock pots!). Having a second full fridge on the lower level for beverages or food overflow (to cut down on the grocery runs) was a big plus!
Hope to be able to return for another visit soon!

I was originally worried that the group of 14 would feel a bit crowded - not at all! My only suggestion is to stock the foosball table with balls. Other than that the space was perfect.

A great stay with everything we wanted and attentive hosts

Had a group of 13, and the place was great. Close to plenty of hiking, river activities, breweries, and wineries. Also a great place to come back to and hang out after a day of activities.

House was great for a group of 21. Property was clean and management was very responsive. We had a great time! Thank you!!

We loved staying at this beautiful lodge in a perfect location in Shenandoah National Park. The home was beautiful, clean and appointed with all the necessities we needed. It was pet friendly, and even though we were bringing 2 black labs ourselves, we were skeptical of the quality of the house for our high-brow bunch and it was PERFECT! Comfy beds. Quiet and remote - but close to park entrance, grocery and more. We hope to be back! TripForth was a wonderful host!!

We enjoyed Massanutten .Had a rainy week but found things to do around the area. The House Was all we expected.Great Week

Lovely property and great location. We'll definitely come back again

The property is very spacious, able to sleep our several friends comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The hot tub is also quite large. The living room is very spacious and the views from those large windows are to die for.
My only suggestion to the manager is that the game room machines were in poor condition - the foosball table has broken handles, the darts are mostly broken and the pool table sticks were broke. However upon communication with the manager, we received good pool sticks.

Our large family all met for a Christmas get together. It was perfect. Very clean and plenty of room. Well stocked kitchen. Beautiful place. A good time was had by all. Thank you!

My family and I really enjoyed the space, view and great location of this property!

The house was beautiful and well stocked. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. It was less clean under beds and couches, as well as the dishes in the kitchen. Since we had a dog, we had to clean the debris under things so she wouldn’t eat things. The property managers were wonderful to work with! The views were stunning and the cabin was gorgeous. It would be nice to have on the description the steepness of the driveway just to give people a heads up. Overall we have an amazing stay and would come back!

Great mountain getaway, a truck or suv to get to the cabin is highly recommended . I have an f150 and still punctured a tire on the way down the mountain on the last day. Solitude is what your paying for however. Only negative I experienced other than that was the cleaning crew arrived 20-30 minutes before our designated check out time. Hot tub was hot, clean property, and great views!

Absolutely loved the house, very clean and spacious, everyone had their own private space. Loved the close proximity of skyline drive. The best part about this place was the amazing views. Would definitely come back to Hensley Hollow Lodge.

We stayed at the Hensley Hollow Lodge with extended family for quick weekend getaway. The property was well-maintained and clean. We fully enjoyed the fire-pit, the beautiful wrap-around porch/deck, the large bedrooms, the BBQ grill, and the unique bedrooms in the loft area -- the kids had a blast and didn't want to leave! The location, however, was a bit remote for our taste + there were no blinds and curtains at the exit doors, which just didn't feel right when it was dark. Overall, I would recommend this lodge for anyone looking to disconnect and reconnect with family and nature!
4.8
All around great place. Definite plan to return for a future stay.

Great house with everything you could ask for. A bit of a trek up the hill, so make sure your car can handle it

This house and the property are beautiful! The house was very clean, the beds were comfy, and the house was spacious. It is in a great location, very close to an entrance of Shenandoah National Park. Although the property management was not flexible about check in time, they were very responsive and pleasurable in their communications, and check in/out was very simple. I highly recommend this property, you won’t be disappointed!

We had a great time at Hensley Hollow Lodge. Great location with lots of things to do in the area. The Laray Caverns were especially nice for a day trip. The Shenandoah river rafting was peaceful, quiet, relaxing but not exciting. The house was large enough for all 16 of us. The beds were comfortable the bathrooms were nice and clean the kitchen was adequate and the hot tub was enjoyable. I recommend Hensley Hollow Lodge to anyone looking for a mountain retreat with lots of things to do.

Beautiful Cabin at the top of a mountain. Great location, Beautiful views , all the privacy, a nice hike around the mountain, hot tub/pool table/games/etc and a home well stocked with everything you can ask for. We were a big group so all the bedrooms and 4 bathrooms came in handy. The 2 listed bedrooms in the upper level loft have doors, but are open as stated - so does not have privacy. The drive up to the cabin the first time is tricky, follow instructions. But you can rely on Google maps - takes you to the home (Not sure how anybody will get up there is bad weather!!). Home was even stocked with baby bassinettes, high chairs, etc. Wish the owner could find a solution for the poor Wi-fi.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! The only things I was not happy with is the cleanest and it states it’s handicap accessible. There was a ramp for a wheel chair but inside wasn’t handicap accessible friendly. My brother had difficulty getting in bathroom to take a bath and only able to stay on main floor. Other than that they have activities and all supplies you will need.

This was our fourth trip back to Hensley Hollow Lodge. It continues to be an enjoyable, relaxing place to stay and get away from the busy world. The upgrades that have been done since our last trip added to the comfort. New furniture, new paint, a new fireplace all helped improve the HHL experience. The wifi has been upgraded as well, and while getting 1 to 3 Mbs per second may seem very slow to most people, it's pretty impressive for being out in the country, up on the side of a mountain. It provided enough connectivity for family members to get homework done for school (college), stay connected to their friends, and surf some videos for the kids. The owners and the maintenance staff were very communicative and responsive. The family overwhelmingly voiced the desire to come back next year for trip #5. That should be a pretty good hallmark for the quality of HHL.

Family Celebration
Loved our time at Hensley Hollow! Family (80 to 8 months) from all corners of the US came together to celebrate GiGi’s 80th birthday as well as graduations and welcoming the newest members of the family. House was well equipped and with very comfortable beds. Enjoyed spending nights by the fire pit gazing at the stars. Spent many hours playing foosball and pool. We are a very competitive family. Each morning while relaxing out on the deck was visited by a hummingbird. Went through the firewood and Chuck was responsive and delivered a load the next day!

We loved our stay at Hensley Hollow. The views and privacy at the house are worth the price of admission alone. We had several families and a bunch of kids and the place is very well suited for groups. Lots of seating and space - both indoors and outdoors.
Equipped for large groups with ample parking, 2 fridges, 2 coffee makers and the piece de resistance (to us anyway) was the unexpected 36” Blackstone griddle. It was key to outdoor cooking for this large crew. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were whipped up out there with no smells in the house and easy cleanup.
The property manager was attentive and responsive to a couple of minor needs we had. He took care of us right away.
Our only quibble is that the bathrooms are a bit tired. Clean but dated and, as you would expect in a rental, well used.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Overall this was a great place to stay. We enjoyed the amenities including the hot tub, fire pit, and pool table. The children enjoyed looking through the huge dvd/vhs collection and found a few favorites. It is very secluded, so be prepared for at least a 15 minute drive to get anywhere. (We didn’t mind it). It was close to Shenandoah National Park which was great for hiking and Shenandoah River Adventures for tubing and kayaking. The owner and property manager were very responsive before and during our stay.
