E Komo Mai and Welcome to Hale Akala (HOUSE OF THE SUN)
Kekaha is the last town westward along Highway 50. It is a collection of rural neighborhoods sewn together where people know each other, and will return a smile.
This contemporary home is nothing short of SPECTACULAR! Nothing like it.
Stretched out in near-constant sunshine and a long white sandy beach, the town sits at the base of Waimea Canyon. If it's raining everywhere else on Kauai, chances are it’s sunny and dry in Kekaha, especially in the winter months. Residents enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with pristine beaches, enchanting views, and a small-town lifestyle.
Above all else, this is a beach town, where everyone owns a surfboard.
This designer custom home features an open concept floor plan with high vaulted ceilings, giving the house a tropical airy feeling, perfect for that person who loves COASTAL LIVING in the SUN. As you enter through a landscaped enclosed courtyard with a water feature bridge, it welcomes you into the foyer. The first thing you notice is the open design and soaring ceilings, with a windowed wall of glass looking the ocean. The two master bedroom suites, laundry, kitchen, dining, and living areas are located on the first floor. There are two primary suites on the first floor, each with their own en-suite bathrooms.. The shower in the first suite features an Ann Sacks tiled bath with large, dual head, walk-in shower. The second bath has a large tub and shower clad in Carrera Marble.. The well equipped kitchen features a gas Wolf range and Sub Zero refrigerator, and marble counters with a very large work island, offering ample seating for family and guests. Overlooking the great room is a large lofted bedroom area, accessed by an architecturally inspired stainless steel circular staircase. The loft features the third bedroom with a sitting area, complete with a sofa and large screen TV. There is a third bathroom that has beautiful travertine throughout. From the loft, there are windows looking west, down the shore, providing views of the island of Niihau, and those famous Kekaha sunsets.
A generous ocean side lanai offers views of the Kekaha coastline to Niihau and beyond. This location, across the road from the ocean, offers BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEWS, and the SOUND OF CRASHING SURF, while enjoying a colorful SUNSET. Close by are several surf breaks, for that person looking for a surfing vacation. The views from this home are truly exceptional. The location of this home, in the area known as Kekaha Sunset, is near the pristine dune backed Polihale Beach Park, the hiking trails of Kokee, the stunning scenery of the Waimea Canyon, and the shopping and restaurants in Waimea town. There are two grocery stores, less than three miles from the house. For your comfort, the home is complete with a SPLIT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM THROUGHOUT.
Come and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, and the people who live here.
You will be welcome with warm, dry weather, most any time of the year.
You will not find the resort crowds here, but you can easily visit one of the resorts for a night out, and return to the serenity of this ocean side setting. This is the Hawaii of years past, which has become hard to find.

I’ve been staying on the big island ever since I got out of the military and during my time in the military, I was at Barbers point.
It was my granddaughters first time here and they were ecstatic, The property was absolutely gorgeous and Scott was wonderful to work with, I would recommend this property to anybody that I know.
The amount of literature, noting food, options, and tours, and such was plentiful

Everything as promised. Great.

We really enjoyed how spacious the house was, it was perfect for our family of four. We were grateful for all the amenities included (washer, dryer, beach, chairs, beach, umbrellas). The house was very well stocked as well, with dishes, toilet paper, paper, towels, dish soap, all the little things that you often have to buy at the beginning of the trip. The views out the windows and on the lanai were absolutely beautiful and we got to see many gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. The only constructive feedback we would offer is that the house needs a bit of a deep cleaning… There were parts of the kitchen that needed, scrubbed, and areas, such as under the beds and glass surfaces that had not been cleaned in a while.

My parents and I had a fabulous stay. We had more than enough room and the house could comfortably fit 5-6 easily. Couldn’t recommend more highly

I can't say enough good things about this vacation rental property. My entire family was blown away. Beautiful house with ocean views out every window. Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful landscaping. Fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. The host was attentive and responsive during our planning process. One of the best properties I have ever stayed at. Wish we could go back again and again! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kauai.

Beautiful home with open architecture and furnishings. Perfect for a stay with us and our two adult two children. Everyone had a bedroom and bathroom space of their own. House provided absolutely everything we needed, including any beach toys had we chosen to use them. Definitely planning on a return trip.

Five star property all the way! Beautifully designed house, 180 degree ocean view, less than a mile from one of the longest, most pristine beaches in all of the islands. We rent 6-7 times per year and this is by far the cleanest house we've rented. Well supplied, very responsive host, local support when needed, and in excellent condition. Its location away from the crowds in Poipu was exactly what we wanted and the weather was sunny and dry when it was raining in Lihue and Poipu. Really can't go wrong with this lovely property.

The house was great—well equipped, nicely arranged, clean, beautifully landscaped and tastefully decorated. Property manager was great, bringing us a baby crib we asked for. The only issue was the property’s proximity to what at times is a busy road, but we would certainly recommend this house to our friends.

This home was modern and elegant. Architecturally, set up to watch the sunrise and sun sets in the quiet west shores of Kauai. The outdoor shower was perfect. One of my children’s favorite things!

The house was absolutely stunning and beautiful. The views of the ocean and sunset are priceless. The house is modern with high ceilings, open floor plan, and spacious bedrooms with very comfortable mattresses. I celebrated my 40th birthday with a friends and it was absolutely perfect!!! I would 100% rent this house again next time I am in Kauai. Magical experience!!!

Awesome house across street from rocky beach, a mile from nearest water access. Off the beaten (tourist) path. Good location for exploring Waimea canyon, Kokee park, Polihale beach. We drove to Poipu one day and that cemented how lucky we were to be staying in Kekaha!

The house is beautifully built and well laid out. The air flow is lovely leaving us with a constant gentle breeze and rarely needing the A/C. The kitchen is well equipped and beds are comfortable. Being in a quiet, local residential area is always our first choice. Ans in Kekaha, we were in a great position to explore Kokee and Waimea State Parks, but for good organic food we needed to drive to Hanapepe, and we spent most of our beach time and dinners in Poipu and Lawai. If we come back to the south coast of Kauai, we would happily stay in this beautiful house again!

My husband and I stayed for two weeks at the house. Everything about our stay was first class. The house is well stocked to make sure your trip is the best. The outside ambiance is as great as inside. The shower outside is wonderful, as it is heated. We look forward to coming back!

Our family of 4 stayed in June. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We would sit out on the lanai for breakfast, watch the waves and enjoy the sun. Depending on the time of day there was more or less road noise but this didn’t bother us. The property manager was quick to respond when we couldn’t figure out how to turn in the grill! 😆 We found the neighborhood quiet. And we’re very pleased with our stay!

Such a beautiful property in a small quite neighborhood away from tourists and crowds. The house fully equipped, the rooms spacious, the beds so comfortable and the linens and towels like in a 5 star hotel…. They even left us a folder with great plans to do and places to visit around the island. Thank you very much Scott for your good work preparing everything ahead our stay, all the information and the great guidance through out the process and thank you to the family that let us rent they beautiful home. It was a 10 out of 10!!!!

When planning our Kauai vacation, I never thought of staying on the west shore. All the travel guides push you to the north or south as the destination location for the island. But this house with its stunning and surprise-and-delight amenities and closer proximity to every adventure has sold me. We had the beach to ourselves and the local, relaxed culture made this paradise. We loved the spacious, open floor plan and private bedrooms. The showers in the bathrooms (especially the master bath) are wonderful. The outdoor shower is even heated! Scott was very responsive during the entire process and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was stocked with everything! And when we needed a boogie board - a boogie board arrived! The owner truly thought of everything including a helpful guide of the best local eats, hiking, and spots to visit. With sunny skies the entire time (and typical rain on the north and south shores), we didn't want to leave! I will admit that I even cried when we left. We truly had a fabulous time and left with some of the best memories. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Beautiful Home
This home looked amazing in the photos, but it was even better in person. Our family loved this home. Property manager was very responsive, all the equipment in the home was in great shape and they even had beach chairs and umbrellas. The entrance was beautiful with backlit fountains on either side of the door. This home exceeded our expectations and provided a great home base during our vacation.

Wonderful experience
We had a quite wonderful experience while staying in this home. The house is more beautiful than the pictures, it’s also perfectly equipped with anything you need. The showers are all heavenly. Scott and his team are the perfect hosts, they provided great info about Kauai in a book at the home, they did not bother you at all, but were quick to respond if you had a question or needed anything. The home was perfectly cleaned. The beach across the street has a beautiful sunset and the waves crashing against the rocks provided a perfect backdrop for our time.

Great stay and would love to come back
Great property. Our family of 4 had plenty of space. Ocean views and listening to the crashing waves as nice was very relaxing. Beach amenities (umbrellas, cooler, chairs, towels) came in very handy. Location is on the warm, sunny side of the island making it ideal place for our March stay. Scott was welcoming and supportive.
