Bed was poor likely a full not queen. Noisy wood floors. Common area doorknobs broken.

Description of room mentioned king bed and living room. Did not realize room was so small it could not accommodate a chair. No soap or shampoo provided either. Living room was communal. Would like a hotel saying they had living room, when all they had is a Libby. Would not stay there again

The mattress was very lumpy and uncomfortable

This is a 1900 circa small room with bathroom in a community like inn. It's awesome for someone not looking for amenities like a TV or phone. Just right for one of two.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially the history associated with this Inn, quaint, quiet, easy to find, and very beautiful!!

This is a quaint little inn. All wood floors. The room we had was tiny. Much smaller than the picture implies. I wouldn’t say here again for that reason. Management was quick in responding to our issues with the heat being off in our room and got it fixed quickly. Within walking distance of everything. Everyone was really nice. Have never done a shared space when using VRBO and won’t again if I can help it. I just like my own space. That’s why I do VRBO. But for the price it was good. Thank you!

Great little town. Off season, plus Christmas holiday so bit of a ghost town even in restaurants and streets. Best restaurant was Up the Creek Raw Bar. Blackened mahi mahi amazing flavor generous portion, oysters a beautiful presentation plus flavor.
Only guests in the Bowery Inn, distinctive old house character. Would return.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Bowery property. It is an old building so be sure to read the property description to make sure it is a good fit for you. The location is great...walking distance to shopping and restaurants in Apalachicola. As far as communication with mgmt/housekeeping, I was not overly impressed. The trash cans in the common area were full the first few days I was here and I had to call to bring attention to that. When housekeeping did come in, they weren't friendly at all. Couldn't even say hello. I would stay here again but would probably keep it short.

This location is within walking distance to so many great places in Apalachicola, in addition to a coffee and breakfast stand around the corner. While located close to the action, it feels like you are away from it all when standing on the wrap-around porch enjoying your favorite beverage. We will visit again.

Great place to stay for the weekend. Walking distance to everything. Close parking to the unit.
Coffee in the morning and access to the refrigerator.
I would stay again.

It was very nice. Smaller than i thought it would be and would have loved to have had a TV. Other than that, it was a great place. I loved that it had a communal kitchen, but no sugar. I gotta have sugar in my coffee. The outside porch was great, but would love to have a TV.

This place was super adorable and very comfortable to stay. We loved the rocking chairs on the shared balcony and looking over the water. Will definitely stay again.

It's simple, small and cost effective if you aren't spending a lot of time in the rental.
The shared space is good size and utile, and the wrap around porch is nice.
The location is really what's best about it. Its a couple blocks to anything you need so its very convenient and a nice alternative to staying on the island.
Beach access is a short drive over two bridges and there's great public parking. Definitely worth a weekend stay!

We stay here the night before closing on our own house in Apalachicola. We’ve stayed at this inn before and love it! It is so quaint and quiet with great river & bay views!!

We just had a quick one night stay, but immediately decided we would have to come back to stay again. Gorgeous old building, loved the balcony porch, room was comfortable and clean, and the shared kitchen space was appreciated.

Maybe we were unlucky, property was occupied by 3 x father/ older teenage sons, who ignored the notice posted to be quiet after 10pm.Noisy till after midnight due to thin walls.Bedroom sheets were clean also towels but room required dusting .Door handle fell off, keypad lock bit iffy. Not worth money paid.

A very old, rustic property that delivers on everything it promises.

I guess I didn’t get the gist of the place when we booked by the discriptions on the website. I knew it was historical, but an old inn made the stay fun. It was perfect for us because it was across the street from the wedding venue we were attending. There was no TV, but it made us enjoy the beautiful porch and read. Also, we were too busy for TV with shopping and a wedding. We shared a kitchen with others. Lucky most were there for the wedding too. But in all, it was a unique comfortable place to stay.

We were impressed with how clean and comfortable without compromising the historic originality of the Bowery. Would highly recommend!

Prices are getting out of control for apalach these days. We will return as long as they stay reasonable. Great location with lots of nostalgia... we had a great time!

The room is small although sufficient. The shared “kitchen” down the hall was awkward. A mini fridge and Keurig in the room would have been much better. The bed was comfortable but very “springy”. There was just 2 towels and one hand towel for 2 people staying 3 days. We enjoyed the deck. Whoever restores the building did a great job! I didn’t appreciate the outrageous information asked for to supposedly prevent fraud after my credit card had been charged (asked for by the owner.)

Wasn't too sure about the outside look of the place but once inside it was perfect! Great kitchen set up, has everything you need plus Earl Grey tea! Eating breakfast on the porch is especially nice. Walkable to everything.

We enjoyed a Valentines vacation in the Old Bowery! The room was romantic with beautiful shutters to the outside and a lovely tub and shower. You're staying in a historic building without well closing doors, so you'll hear sounds and other folks moving around, but there's a nice Dohm sound machine that will help you from eavesdropping and to fall asleep! Everything was immaculate and authentic -- well cleaned, whitewashed beadboard in the rooms, a handmade quilt in the kitchen, and fresh white linens on the bed. Everything we put in the shared kitchen got used up or taken by other folks, so I wouldn't trust that system for anything you really *want* but it sure is nice to have a coffee maker and sink and fridge as part of your stay. Plus, the Bowery is right across the road from a great restaurant, and down the street from a biscuit place (honey butter chicken biscuit for $6? Yes please!) and cute shops -- and you could even walk to other places downtown and enjoy the Oyster Beer Company beer or Apalachicola Bee Company mead and then waddle home without having to drive. Lovely stay!

Came to Apalach for the evening for our anniversary and loved staying here. Great location, love the renovations and all the great old charm. The balcony was a great way to start and end your day.

Nice place, great location. Only con was that the hall light was bright and visible in my room in the evening.

My wife and I spent a getaway weekend there. The property is an old, restored home. It was pretty much as described in the ad, though there are several problems with the place. In increasing order of importance, they are:
1. The room is quite small. The perspective used in the online picture make it appear to be larger than it is. The bathroom is quite spacious, however.
2. The bed was horrible. The mattress is worn out and needs to be replaced.
There are some safety and security issues that need attention:
3. All the rooms in the property are accessed via a single door right on the street. The door has a cypher lock, but it appeared someone had attempted to break in at some point, as the outside of the door jam had been hacked or gouged, partially exposing the strike plate and deadlbolt. This makes a break-in easier. While there are also locks on each of the rooms, this needs to be repaired immediately.
4. Once you enter through the main door, there is a small "lobby" and a steep set of stairs to get to the rooms. The lights were not working in the lobby, making it very dark and not very safe. In addition, there is no way for someone with limited mobility to get to the rooms. I don't see how this meets disability access (ADA) requirements.
5. The only way in or out of the building is through the single door. All the rooms are on the second floor. I could find no fire exits. As our room was at the end of the hall, this poses a potential problem. I cannot believe this meets fire codes.
Fortunately, there were no emergencies during our two-night stay. I would not stay there again, unless and until the problems noted are addressed.

We stopped in Apalachicola to break up the trip home. I loved the easy check-in, quietness of area, and ease of walking just a few blocks to get both a delicious dinner at The Tap room at the Owl and breakfast at the historic Gibson Hotel.
The room was clean and a treat with it's shared coffee area, outdoor porch, and overall vintage charm.

The old, restored building is very charming. Our room was very cozy. However, the description said it was a king bed but it was really a queen. We had an issue with the bathroom and the entrance door and let the owners know. They said they would take care of it. The community kitchen was nice. The porch on the second floor was our favorite spot! The rocking chairs were comfortable and the views were fabulous!

Quite & Enjoyable birthday!!
Convenient to everything, beautiful view, good coffee, very comfortable both bed and air conditioning system. Loved the history! Old but GREAT!

Not again.....
We had a terrible time trying to get into our room. Key pad to enter our room was not working properly. It was after hours. When I finally reached a very nice lady, she stayed on the phone with me until she could figure something out. Need more info on the key pad to enter. Try putting your palm over the entire key pad to get it work.
Bathroom was dirty. It had not been cleaned in a while.
Did not trust the bedding after seeing the bathroom. Had new pillows and blanket in the car which I used.
There is a pleasant restaurant within walking distance. It was a nice way to start our day.

Not as expected
First impression, building facade unfinished, plastic hanging on it and wires coming out, have pic if you want. Bed advertised was to be Kung. This was a small queen at best with worn sides. Wife fell off first night, me the second gouging arm in unfinished wood wall. Water pressure non existent and tepid shower. Lastly no coffee, only decaf and a couple halfcaf. There is more but this will suffice... price value on this venue we would put around $59 per night
