About this cabin rental
Let Pisgah Pines capture your heart with the authentic feel of Appalachian living. Just ten minutes from the Asheville, NC airport, this classic log cabin is comfortably furnished with lodge decor, including rustic log bed frames and wooden rockers on the covered front porch - perfect for relaxing outdoors in any weather. The large living area offers a cozy space for gathering together with friends and family, and a free-standing gas fireplace gives you the ambiance of a wood stove without the hassles of burning wood. Prepare your favorite homestyle dinners in the fully equipped kitchen, and you can choose to dine indoors or out on the deck for each meal. Sleeping options include a master suite sanctuary on the upper level, with a convenient second living area and a full bathroom. The main level bedroom suite includes a king-size bed and separate access to the side deck. If your group needs additional sleeping space, a bunk bed in the loft area is great for the kiddos. Outdoor relaxation comes easy here, especially when you're soaking in the hot tub. The roof over the hot tub makes it easy to use year-round! The deck is great for taking in the sounds of nature and the wooded views. Pisgah Pines can be your new happy place - there's plenty of room around the fire pit for roasting marshmallows! First time visiting the Asheville area and we were very happy by our choice with this location to stay at during our visit! The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Everything we wanted to do was 20-30 mins away which wasn’t bad at all. The cabin was a little dusty, and the kitchen sink had sludge which causes fruit flies. Other than that it was over all pretty clean. There could be a chance it’s been awhile since the cabin has been rented out so I did try to be understanding when it came to that. Overall our stay was great and this rental made our first mountain vacation a great experience!

Nice place. At first seemed way out there but found it to actually be a good location and peaceful area.

The cabin was tucked back nicely off the road, offering lots of privacy. It was clean and had everything one would need for a nice and relaxing week or weekend.

Me and my partner came up for a long weekend for my birthday. I wish we had more time to call enjoy the house but we mostly just came home to shower and sleep. Great place, good location close to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This place checked all the boxes for our wants and needs. I would highly recommend this property.

This cabin was 100% as advertised. It was clean, well stocked with necessities, and just far enough but close enough to all activities. To be honest, our biggest anxiety about bringing our dog to dog friendly cabins is the possibility of smell or uncleanliness. This is not the case. We have a shihtzu we take on vacations. Choosing places to stay cause anxiety bc dogs sometimes bring unwanted smell. This is 100% not the case. I would highly recommend this cabin and Carolina Mornings for their thorough check in/out and deals.

Cabin was as advertised. Clean and was in good location. Private! We really enjoyed our stay!

The cabin was VERY clean and good location. Fantastic living space and definitely plenty of room for a couple small families. Upstairs has nice loft area for kids and downstairs living has 2 large sofas and decent size kitchen with eating area.
Appliances all worked well, but refrigerator would get loud like cycling for periods of time. There was a standard mr coffee style coffee maker and a Keurig and a kettle. Nice to have options!
There was a missing cabinet door and another loose that could use repair. The cabin dishes and silverware need a refresh. It was very much a collection of pieces over the years. One pan I took out as on top in cabinet to do eggs was Teflon coated and scratched and pealing badly so had to find another. Wouldn’t take star off for any of this.
The overall cabin was very dark with very little natural light due to few windows or window light competing with covered porch and tree canopy or windows in back looking into covered carport. I don’t view this as negative but should be aware.
We didn’t use hot tub, fire pit, or gas grill but all there. The hot tub was huge and looked clean.
The only item I am taking a star off for is the King mattress. It was horrible. My wife slept on sofa 2 nights. It wasn’t that mattress was too firm it was “springy” and just felt very hard surface and bouncy if that makes sense. Neither of us could get comfortable. Highly recommend an updated mattress, and personally recommend foam mattress.

If you’re looking for a remote cabin getaway for your family or a small group stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Pisgah Pines is perfect. It’s about 25-30 mins from all of the Asheville attractions and was a cozy retreat at the end of a long day of hiking, rafting, touring and exploring the area. Nestled in a quiet forest neighborhood, you’ll feel secluded, but safe. It has two nice sized bedrooms and the kids enjoyed their bunk beds in the loft space. The kitchen has everything you need for a short stay and we enjoyed a quiet dinner and our morning coffee out on the wraparound porch. Laundry room is great and the two bathrooms were fine. It was perfect for our large dog and he enjoyed his daily walks in the neighborhood. There’s a hot tub and fire pit, though our plans for s’mores one night were thwarted when we spotted a black bear on the driveway! We had some bulbs out and a broken kitchen cabinet (pantry) door upon arrival, but Carolina Mornings was very responsive. They sent a handyman out the next day. The listing also comes with a discovery pass, which includes one free adult admission to the Biltmore House and grounds ($94 value), French Broad river rafting, and other attractions. We’d definitely come back to PisgahPines on a future Blue Ridge trip.

This property was exactly as depicted, though much nicer in person! Our trip had to be cut short due to a family emergency but we plan to book this house again. Perfect for dogs! The fenced in yard goes around most of the perimeter so our pups were happy, which makes us happy. Truly a beautiful home. Clean! Well stocked! Comfy furniture! Really nice decor. We will be back and hopefully able to spend a full week. We were very sorry to have to cut our trip short.

Cozy Cathy’s Cabin Makes for the Perfect Family Getaway
Our stay was like a VRBO commercial. Our family of 6,who have now all moved apart, came together for some amazing quality moments at your warm and inviting and incredibly comfortable cabin. We played board games and hung out by the fire pit and soaked in the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking. We would certainly return to this cabin. It was clean, comfortable and the the owner was very responsive.

Great getaway!
My friends and I had a fantastic time at this cozy cabin. It was a perfect convenient location for exploring Ashville, and also feeling out of the way and able to relax. We could not have asked for a better place to stay.

Nice property, only a few small quibbles
Overall we very much enjoyed our time at the cabin. We did notice however when we got there that it looked like the coffee maker had not been cleaned for a very long time. It still had coffee grounds an moisture, presumably from the previous guests, and a layer of grime in the basket that took some serious scrubbing to get off. The master shower also had a decent layer of soap scum and build up around the drain.
There were tons of pots and pans for cooking, but almost all of the nonstick pans had scratches through to the metal, so we resorted to using the much smaller collection of stainless steel pans. You'll also definitely want to bring your own spices if you plan on doing any cooking, what was there was so old that none of the spices had any odor left to them
Other than that though, our dogs enjoyed the yard. The location is a great compromise for those looking for something more secluded, but not looking to offroad it into the middle of nowhere. We could tell we had neighbors but the property still felt very private.
Our host was also responsive when we found an old pair of glasses out in the yard, and also reached out to us about the hot tub (which we ended up not using) to see if we needed any help there. It may be a little pricey for what it is, but still a very nice property in a great location.

Very nice quiet location Pictures are accurate
Pictures are accurate. Clean, nice house/cabin. Nice touch with the coffee and snacks.
Only issue was getting Uber/Lyft to come out to pick us up. Outside of popular area so hard to get a ride share.

Wonderful place to stay in Mount Dora!
We had a wonderful stay at this property in Mount Dora. Peter was excellent to work with. He was flexible, helpful and friendly. The house is adorable, unique and had antique pieces touches. My mom lives in Mount Dora right around the corner from this house, so we rented it for a little extra space. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Great for pets, family, A'ville proximity
Beautifully built cabin, private, fenced yard for dogs with gates on deck. Quiet neighborhood. Clean with plenty of towels, bedding, a welcome basket, and plenty of cooking pots, utensils, etc..good wifi. Suggest smart TV when time to replace TV due to dish being unreliable as dish is. Close to Asheville as you can be considering Asheville doesn't allow short term rentals. Will be back. 5 stars.

Really enjoyed this house in the woods south of Asheville. Kitchen is well appointed. Downstairs shower worked well. Upstairs shower needs just a bit of work.

We've stayed in the cabin several times as a family and always enjoy it. The home is clean and comfortable, the neighborhood is quiet, the porch is peaceful. We also love its proximity to the surrounding activities. An overall great experience.

Wonderful stay in this perfect little gem!
Our family of four including two kids 12 and 14 had a wonderful time staying in the cabin and exploring the area around it. We would go for drives every day to different outdoor spots. We saw so many waterfalls, experienced sliding rock and overall enjoyed every day of our stay. Cathy was great to work with an answered any questions immediately. We had absolutely no issues with the cabin. There were tons of towels, the kitchen is completely stocked with anything you could want, etc. It is secluded but not too far from anything you want to do. We could not have asked for more and really appreciate you letting us stay at your very clean, adorably decorated and welcoming cabin. Highly recommend!

My family of 4 recently spent 2 nights in Cathy's Cabin, just south of Asheville. On our Blue Ridge Parkway trek from Virginia to Cherokee, NC, the cabin was conveniently located, not far off the parkway. Cathy is a great owner, very responsive to questions and willing to offer suggestions for area attractions if you need some. Her cabin was beautiful...close enough to the action, but secluded enough for some privacy. We enjoyed the covered hot tub both nights we were there! And it didn't lack any amenities. We visited Biltmore during our stay, which was a short 30-minute or so drive north. Overall, it was a great stay and we'd highly recommend Cathy's Cabin!
1.5 / 5.0
Lovely property but hospitality whether intended or not, was sub-par. We were shocked that there was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. We were surprised that there was no welcome basket or even coffee or filters. The “welcome “ book explained that the alarm with motion detector would activate if any movement was detected after 10 AM. The welcome book felt like an oxymoron. We were also asked to strip beds, bring all linens and towels to laundry room, and start the dishwasher, after being charged $100 for cleaning. We would not recommend Cathy’s Cabin to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cathy's Cabin! The cabin is just what we expected! The cutest cabin with one of a kind decor and the most comfy couch ever! The only recommendations that I would make is to get rid of Direct TV because there are very few shows that are available. It would be much better if there was a smart TV with apps available for the consumer to use their own accounts or a ROKU. The Wi-fi is already set up and wonderful so it wouldn't be a big deal to convert. It seems like a waste of money for Direct TV but perhaps others don't feel the same. We also thought the mattress in the master bedroom was a bit uncomfortable. One other thing to note is that it would have been nice to have recycling available. We are hippies at heart and had to lug all of our recycling back home with us. We looked into dropping off at recycling centers but it was difficult to do on a Sunday. I saw several recycling containers at neighbors houses on the drive out so it seems like it is available in the area for pick up. Kudos on all else! Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven in such an amazing city!

Best mountain house
We had an absolutely amazing time at Cathy’s Cabin. The house is more beautiful & spacious than the photos portray. We immediately fell in love with the vibe of the house. It was the perfect vacation house to decompress from our busy work lives. Our favorite part was drinking coffee on the wraparound porch in the cool morning mountain air. We honestly can’t wait to come back ❤️🌲
