The Captain’s Nest is a great place for an extended stay. The house is in a very quiet, upscale area with all the amenities you need nearby. The view of the river is fantastic as it sits about 50 feet above the water. A great place to spend leisure time and I would highly recommend it.

Its not often you can stay in a Captain's Nest over looking the water. You access the unit through an elevator and enter into a totally unique octogon shaped, nautically themed house. The owner is great and communicative. Dont think about it....book this property now!

House was better than the pictures. Clean and had more than enough resources for my family of seven. Talked to Jon several times and he was very responsive to my questions. My kiddos enjoyed the elevator and the geese that came every morning.
The sunsets was awesome from the back deck and I personally enjoyed the quiet nature and watching the deer and rabbits in the evening.
Totally recommend this place for any family or couples who want to get away but be close enough to see all of the sights in Louisville.

Our weekend stay was so relaxing at the Captain's Nest. The home was clean, beautiful, and the layout is extremely unique. The morning view from the deck was peaceful and the sunset was directly across from the home with a gorgeous river reflection. It is walking distance to Captain's Quarters where we had a few meals and enjoyed the nightly entertainment. The location was easy to find and in close proximity to many other Louisville activities. The beds were comfortable, ample parking, and the check-in was an easy process. The homeowner, Jon, was extremely responsive to our inquiries and we would definitely stay here again! Great location and great stay!

Okay, this is the most unique, interesting property I've ever stayed at. It is absolutely beautiful and the location is fantastic. We stayed here for the Kentucky Derby- 3 couples, and we had a BLAST. The elevator is easy to operate and fun, and we were lucky enough to catch a rainstorm on the river and experience it from up high in the coolest of ways. It was the BEST weekend- Jon answered every question I had and was prompt. The only feedback I have is make sure you know that of the three standard sized beds, two are in a shared open concept room. It is listed as 3br, and there is a small office, but it's really one private bed and bath, and then a loft with two really fun beds that are literally in the wall. It is a high end property, and a TON of fun.

Our group of 5 was in town for a bourbon trail weekend. This location was great for us, and provided a nice relaxing place to enjoy sunset on the deck! Very unique experience to stay here, thank you to Jon!

We stayed at the Captain’s Nest for a guys weekend in Louisville and the Bourbon Trail. Great place- really unique and cool location on the river. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house and weather kept us from using the awesome deck. Only thing I can think of is the sectional was pretty uncomfortable. Great kitchen, beds & bathrooms

This unique home is a short jaunt from the city for activities, but just far enough away to be a relaxing escape. The online pictures of the property do not do it justice! The home is well appointed and comfortable. The views from the living room are awesome and you really feel like you are on the water.
We would return just for the sunsets!

Beautiful property just a short drive from downtown Louisville
We loved our time at this property! It was a beautiful home with equally beautiful views. It was less than ten miles to downtown Louisville but it felt like we were far from anywhere (in a good way!). The home was well stocked. My kids loved the bunks. There was plenty of room for our family of four to spread out. Would definitely recommend this home!
