Accueil exceptionnel de Taieb; beaucoup de souplesse et de sourire. Sa femme concocte en cuisine, avec beaucoup de plaisir, des plats bons et variés.
Qui plus est, le cadre est magnifique (architecture nubienne).

Place was closed, no refunds given, total scam, left us stranded in Luxor

We spent 3 nights at Fayeb and his family and felt treated like family members - and more!
Large, clean rooms, A/C, silence, stunning architecture and the best food (breakfast & dinner) we had during our trip to Egypt. After arriving very late on the first night and having a DELICIOUS dinner, we didn’t think twice to have all dinners at the guesthouse. It was cozy, delicious, home-made and honestly the BEST. Fayeb and his family really take care of their guests and pets, which we loved as this is not common in Egypt.
We hope to visit again soon ❤️

Tayeb as we say in arabic is a name truly given to the owner of this house, meaning he is genuinely the nicest host we have met. The service and accommodation was beyond what we expected from the cleanliness, hospitality and overall needs.
Tayeb and his wife were very helpful when needed and breakfast time felt like we were sitting in our family home. The decor and overall atmosphere made us want to cancel the rest of our activities just so we can spend more time in the guest house. The room as good running cold & hot water, very good AC and very clean.
I would recommend to bring your own towel just for personal hygiene but it is still veryyyy clean.
We traveled as 2 females friends and we felt extremely safe in a new and remote place which is rare in this day an age. If you are ever visiting Luxor make The Scorpion House your home.
It is super close to all the activities in the West Bank (by car) : Valley of the kings (5min), Valley of the queens (8min), Hot Air Ballon (10min), Quad Bike Safari (10min). So you definitely get that extra rest and is the last too get pick up and first to get dropped off from your activity.
It is also only a 15min drive to the Nile where you can enjoy dinner by the Nile so definitely not that far and highly recommend.
Thank you again Tayeb and hope to visit you soon.

Honestly nothing at the location made us uncomfortable or not want to come back. The only note to take is if you are not fond of animals or pets, Mr Tayeb does keep pigeons and chickens outside the home so the rooster might awake you by dawn but then again you have to be up bring an early to enjoy the activities in Luxor.

Beautiful authentic house and most welcoming and attentive host. Our favorite stay in Egypt was in this hotel.

My wife and I love to travel and we concurred that this has been - simply put - one of the best places we have ever stayed in!
Warm hospitality is often not found in big, luxury hotels, but in someone's home. Tastefully built, designed and decorated by the owner, Tayeeb, himself and his fellow archaelogist friends based on traditional Nubian architecture. It was a haven where one could relax and escape from the hustle and bustle in Luxor. We felt so welcomed by Tayeeb and his wife, Doaa, as well as their dog and kitten, waking up everyday to the chirping of the birds and crowing of the roosters. We felt right at home during our short stay there.
We also organised drivers and tours through the hotel and were very happy both with the received services and the very fair prices which were far better than anything that is offered on the street (yes, I know you can haggle, but it's much nicer to start with honest prices to begin with!).
And I haven't even talked about the food: we enjoyed the food so much that we actually opted to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the guesthouse whenever our schedule allowed it. Thank you, for all the delicious local dishes that you have cooked for us, the kind of food that you cannot find in any restaurant in the whole of Egypt! Every dish is full of flavours and you can taste the love and effort that go into cooking them.

Beautiful man running this beautiful house of inspiration, good vibrations, deep knowledge and Singer curiosity. Big heart

We were given a room in the adjacent, attached property. And not the main building.
these rooms are big. the owner is very nice, responsive & helping. food is very good.
the room was not clean at all. it has an eerie feeling to it. the owner cleaned it as well but still it was not good.
Hot water didn't come and they fixed it later.
but it's quite far from the Nile and Luxor city. takes about 45 mins to reach the Hotel. I would not stay here again as a lot of time got wasted in commute.

The house is as homestay, the landlord is extremely sincere, with a good understanding of Egypt's history and construction. Dinner food has been very delicious, warm like at home.

Tayeb’s House is amazing from the architecture itself to the pottery dish set, with different places to chill and a rooftop with a great view in the mountains (sunset). The location is very nice, a bit out of town but close to all the temple and tumbs ( valley of king, Hatshepsut temple, …). Tayeb will open his house to you and make you feel home. He is also a great cook ! Definitely an address to keep !

Cozy, welcoming, and has the best hosts in Luxor! You won’t want to miss meeting Al-Tayeb and Doaa and trying their delicious homemade food!

my husband and I loved our stay here! the owner is the kindest man and will do anything for you. we spend a majority of our time in the open spaces in the main room with AC. it was lovely with the Egyptian music, games, and atmosphere. he made us an American style breakfast in the morning and we had him mak us lunch/dinner the night before. the food was incredible! a bit expensive for Egypt (300 pounds for two people), but so worth it! the best meal we have had here. he was so kind to give us ice-cream afterwards. yum! this places was definitely a hi/lite of our stay here.
it was very far from anything else. you have to cross the river to get to it and then get someone to drive you another 5K. it’s a good place if you want to stay there for a majority of your time. the room was ok, the best pet was the hotel itself. I think it was very expensive for what the room was, but the owner and the atmosphere made it worth it.

the house is really nice, quiet with lot more charm than usual hotel
our hosts were lovely and we had a great dinner
located close to all the place to visit in the West Bank
quite far from Luxor city if you are after it but we didn’t missed it

We were toying with staying at the Winter Palace but really glad we decided on the West bank and The Scorpion. Extremely tastefully decorated, straight out of an Elle decor shoot and our room was gorgeous and amazing value for money. The host was incredibly helpful and nothing was a hassle to organise. His wife is a phenomenal cook and we don't normally do this but this time ate every night we stayed there. It was a great experience trying out all her different dishes (we don't think we've tasted some of the flavours so some of it was new and exciting) and made us have a lovely night sleep. Location is near Valley of the Kings but take a taxi, we walked to Hatshepsut Temple.

Excellent familiar House Hotel, very great, authentic, nice designed room with big bathroom. The owner was very helpful, his wife cooked sooo much great food, the best in Luxor🙏✨ Breakfast also was very nice. We just say it is extraordinary for every case. Thank you:)!

A gorgeous traditional Egyptian home designed by owner-architect in west bank where he's spent his career in archeological excavations. Charming family and tasty breakfast too!
Note that location is near entrance to Valley of the Kings which is great if you are exploring but not the best if you want to be close to Luxor city. Also check on arrival instructions in advance since was a bit confusing.

We stayed in this lovely house the night of the New Year’s Eve. What a magical place…
It is beautiful and has such an amazing vibe to it. The owners are just so lovely. They cooked the most amazing dinner for us and we had a romantic candlelight diner. What a perfect way to end 2021.
We wished we’d stayed longer but will definitely be back! Thank you so much for having us 🙏🏼
Everything was perfect

Thr host was angry and difficult to deal with.

Scorpion House treated my little boy and I like family. Wonderful inner courtyard and lunch or dinner is also available. A delicious home cooked meal was sooo needed after cruise/restaurant food for a week. Great clean, cool rooms were very comfortable. Located near the road up to the Valley of the Kings.
Being a bit from the city center, your own car may help.

Lots of character. Food was great! Very nice host as well.
Slightly remote. Payment in cash.
