If you're driving the Road to Hana, do yourself a favor and spend the night! And this is the perfect place to do that. Great accommodations, view of the beach, quiet little town, comfortable bed! Then drive back the next day. You owe it to yourself.

The unit is “as advertised.” It was an easy check-in with access code. Comfy bed, kitchen had what we needed. Loved the note that informed us that the water from the tap is filtered. The view is incredible, the grounds are well manicured. Love the koi ponds and the stroll on the beach. This is my 2nd stay at Hana Kai (the 1st was in 2015). We will stay again when the opportunity arises:). Thank you!

To give you the highlights - quiet condo, great view, no A/C but did not need it (designed for maximum air flow through the condo utilizing the coastal breezes and good fans). Bed was comfortable with good sheets. I knew that in order to make our Road to Hana trip even remotely relaxing (a near impossibility), I needed to split up the drive and stay a night in Hana. We were able to leave Kaanapali between 7 & 8 am, take our time to stop at various sites (waterfalls, overlooks, food stands, beaches, etc), and got to Hana in time for dinner. We got there a little after 5 and many of the food options were already closed. We backtracked to Garden Gourmet Cafe and had some good pizza and Thai food options. We ate a lovely dinner on the condo balcony looking at the black sand beach and ocean. After the stress of driving and some of the tourist crowds, an evening at the condo made it all worth it. We had a nearly private stroll on the black sand beach right in front of the condo after dinner. Starting in Hana the second day meant we were already close to Wai’anapanapa State Park (made reservations weeks in advance for a slot to visit the park that morning), Hana Lava Tube, and plenty of time to enjoy Ohe’o Gulch and Waimoku falls (Pipiwai Trail). I had planned to do the full loop, but couldn’t due to rockslide and closed roads past Kipahulu. The drive was very long to get back from Kipahulu but I can’t imagine how exhausted we would be going there and back in the same day.

Beautiful condo and oceanfront property. Enjoyed the stay here but there was zero communication prior to check in. When I arrived I had no idea how to access the unit. It was after hours but fortunately I was able to access the Expedia app which provided the code to open the door to the unit.

Loved our stay here- very clean and relaxed, beautiful view from the Lanai, and really loved the day bed for sitting out there. Appreciated the electric tea kettle (as tea drinkers) and just a very nice spot- very convenient and a lovely oasis after a day of adventuring. Lots of amenities on site that we did not have time to avail ourselves of, but would love to return. Thank you.

What a wonderful experience. Check-in was seemless and we had great communication from the owner. The rental itself was wonderful, with an outstanding sunrise view. The location was central to everything we wanted to do in town. Easily our best rental of the Hawaiian trip.

The bed and balcony were wonderful for relaxing, the kitchen is quite small but well stocked with kitchenware, the bathroom was a little on the rustic side and partially unfinished, but we were only there for 1 night so didn't mind.

I stayed at this Hana Condo for 2 nights during my time in Maui. It was a great location and extremely convenient as a place to rest after a long drive. The day bed on the balcony was a perfect place to relax and watch the sunset. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again in a heartbeat!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our three days in Hana! The condo was perfectly sized for the two of us and the lanai overlooking the ocean was an ever changing landscape. The only negative was the noise from the neighboring units, as the complex was not constructed with sound dampening in mind. We were awoken each morning by 6 am by boisterous small children who are difficult to contain … but at least it got us up and going early!

Property was clean and attractive. Some minor cosmetic things to update/fix but nothing to impact the vacation negatively. The location was lovely and convenient. The very short walk to the black sand beach was a fantastic sunrise! You can hear your neighbors a little more than I'd have liked. We loved our stay and would love to return!

Perfect in almost every way...Clean, Quiet, Private and comfortable. Make sure you walk down to the lava beach and wake up early for a spectacular sun-rise sitting on the "day-bed" outside on the Lani!

The view was spectacular and loved the contactless check in. Secluded place on a quiet street with quiet neighbors. A true retreat. Artwork on the walls was wonderful and thoughtful for the setting, also dove into both books in the room as we traversed hana and pointed out with amazement when we could identify a plant!

Nice unit with a great view! Just a 3 minute walk to the ocean and a nice grassy sitting area next to it. This is a great unit for a couple! A little communication problem for the set-up prior to arrival of four people but we made use of the daybed on the lanai which turned out to be nice sleeping with the sounds of the ocean. We even managed to stay dry despite the at times heavy rain.

View from the property was amazing! The porch seating is great and very enjoyable! There is no AC which for just a night stay was OK. Appliances are worn out and there is no code maker. There is jus a french press French however there is no coffee. For the nightly rate charge, the place needs some upgrades.

This unit was a disappointment all around. Just so all prospective renters are aware, there is no air conditioning, no tv, the appliances are all rusted, the shower curtain is stained and moldy, the windows are dusty and don’t appear to have been cleaned in a while, the screen door won’t close for the balcony, the hinges on everything squeak, the bed smells of the previous renters, and the inside of the freezer is a mess. To call this unit fully remodeled is a joke. For the price of this unit per night it is an absolute disgrace. My only saving grace is I was only staying there one night or I would have left. The room was so humid that I couldn’t even sleep. My niece got rained on while sleeping on the balcony. Honestly this was probably one of the worst vacation rentals that I’ve ever booked at the price point it is at. This unit should be $100 a night AT BEST. I really hope this review saves the perspective future renters the dismay of showing up and being let down and having no other options. Do yourself a favor and shop around. This is was my first and most likely last VRBO booking as they clearly don’t vet their listings.

We are a group of 4 friends planned to visit Hana, To our surprise when we checked in there were no towels or extra comforter sets for 4 people inspite of charging extra $50 for additional people. She said she is going to provide an extra twin bed which she didn’t and some of us had to sleep on the floor. Other than this pillows at the property looked really old and worn out. There was no email or phone number to contact the property manager to request necessary items. We are extremely disappointed with the service and won’t recommend this property to anyone.

The rental was fine for our stay, however it was listed as having two beds, and it only has one, with another on the lanai. Owner did messages us regarding this but very late (1 week prior to stay) when it was too late to find another location. Refrigerator was dirty, bed was very uncomfortable. We both only slept a few hours.

Everywhere is expensive in Hana so price aside, this was a good spot to stay if you're looking to break the road to Hana into 2+ days (although in our opinion you can 100% do it in one day). This was a clean and cute but no frills studio, with a great view of the ocean, and easy walk to the "downtown", nearby beach, and food trucks. Parking was also easy and on-site. The host generously helped us accommodate 4 guests in this small studio - 2 in the bed, 1 on a twin air mattress, and 1 in the day bed on the porch (but note - the porch is covered but NOT enclosed, so this set-up may not work well if there is bad weather). Only major complaint is despite knowing that we would have four guests, we were only left one set of extra sheets (besides the set on the bed) without extra blankets and only 2 bath towels to share between the 4 of us. I tried contact the host about getting more linens but did not get a response, so if you're trying to fit more than 2 people here, recommend requesting these extra items in advance.

The owner misrepresented the place. Suggested it was two bedrooms when it was a studio. Bed was on the smaller size and uncomfortable. Screen Door to lanai would not open unless lifted. Amenities were sparse.

The property was a nice studio condo. had a great balcony that overlooks the ocean. It's a short walk to the beach (rock at first). The town is very secluded and not busy. Food trucks everywhere and the town ranch both had delicious food. There's also a path to a red sand beach maybe a 2 minute drive down the road. Room was very clean and plenty of room for 2.
