My coworker recommended Barley Bungalow for a potential vacation and it was a fantastic recommendation! From the initial time I booked to the end of our vacation the communication, resources, cleanliness of the house, location, and safety have been top notch! We brought our five person family ( 2 adults, kids ages 10, 8, 5) and my parents (ages in their 70s) and the place suited all of us so comfortably! My parents were so impressed with the place and felt right at home. The host Jocelyn communicated so timely and promptly and provided an abundance amount of resources! It helped me plan a fun vacation for everyone in our group. She even notified me of bear sightings from the outside ring camera! My boys were playing outside so it was wonderful that she could tell us timely of any issues/animals around. The house was very well kept and stocked with everything you could need. I want to thank Jocelyn and her family for letting us stay at their home. When we visit Asheville again we will be staying here!

The house was extremely nice, clean, well equipped with all needed items, and in a quite neighborhood. Nice porch on the front of the house and deck on the back where we enjoyed drinking coffee and hanging out. Very small neighborhood if you prefer to walk around the neighborhood you have to make laps. The house is located about 10 minutes from downtown so you you need a car to get around. It was everything we needed for a weekend stay.

This house was clean and comfortable, and the family enjoyed our stay. Nespresso machine was a hit. Great front porch! We even saw a bear in the neighborhood - a highlight since we had never seen one. Neighborhood is quiet yet location is close to Blue Ridge Parkway and I-40, so it was easy getting around the area for our exploring.

Second visit to this wonderful home for our family of 5. Highly recommend for family’s or couples visiting the area. The owner is great to work with, and over communicates to ensure your stay is fantastic. Can’t say enough about the home’s amenities and the feeling of “home” while staying. Look forward to visiting soon. Very clean, quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, Nespresso!, and several supplies for your stay.

Wonderful time was spent with our family at this beautiful home. We appreciated how clean the home was and the attention to details. As grandparents, we appreciated the child-safety features which helped us all relax in this home. The calmness and comfort of the home made our stay an enjoyable one. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We appreciated the close proximity to a grocery’s store and downtown Asheville. Looking forward to future family vacations there!

Had a wonderful time visiting Asheville for the first time, but the Barleys Bungalow made it all worthwhile. Location was perfect and views were welcoming and everything you would expect of Asheville without having to be too far out of the city center. Everything we needed as a family with a 1 and 3 year old was taken care of and well communicated prior to our arrival. Jocelyn was a gracious host and very thoughtful and accommodating. Will certainly stay again and this home really felt like our home away from home with details you can appreciate were not overlooked.

Father’s Day getaway
We decided to do a getaway for the Father’s Day weekend. We selected this home initially because of the view and it was infant friendly. We were so pleased with everything else and once we arrived that my family started looking for other times that we could return. The decor was beautiful and cozy. The house was well stocked with basic supplies and extras. All communication was great with clear instructions, and nice suggestions . Pricing was great and secure. Everything was handle very professionally.

This was a perfect house for us for a long weekend. Good location directly between all the fun spots in Asheville and Black Mountain. Owner and all the information about the house and area were perfect! Great spot!

Child Friendly Location
The house was very tastefully decorated (loved the art!). It was nice to have gates for the stairs and outlet covers, and we didn't have to rearrange a lot of breakable items or furniture for safety. The children loved playing the memory game and the baby had enough toys to keep him happy.
The location was good for access to Asheville, the NC Arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
