Orion is special and from the minute you walk in the door you'll see why. Designed to give guests a panoramic view of Little Lagoon, the Pass, and the Gulf, Orion brings the outside in with a sun-drenched kitchen that opens to a deck, ending right at the shore. Compete with the herons to catch the crabs and minnows literally from the porch. A private deeded access at the beginning of the street allows direct access to the Gulf right along Lagoon Pass without having to cross the street. The subdivision also has a boat ramp (a key in the home gives you access) and a long fishing pier with a gazebo at the end, all within sight of the home's backyard deck. Bring your kayaks, a boat, or jet ski, for a leisurely tour on the water. Or spend the day in the brand-new pool, with heating capabilities in the winter and cooling capabilities in the summer.
Whether you spend the day at the beach or on the lagoon, leisure is in order and Orion has you covered. A bench swing and lounge chairs await the weary. Of course, Orion has a brand-new gas grill and a picnic table! The evening here is special. The stars come out and the water becomes still and time stops. You'll hear the fish jumping as you sit on the porch and you'll be glad you brought your telescope. When it's time to turn in, the crow's nest features a berth bed for the adventurous buccaneer as well as a little alcove with another berth bed for someone who wants their own space. Everyone will find a place to rest their head at this fantastic home.

We all enjoyed the home for two weeks. The porch, views, and closeness to the beach are all anyone could ask for. It is a wonderful spot to recharge away from the tourist spots, but you are close enough to them to enjoy what they offer.

We loved our time spent together. The views were beautiful and the home was spacious. I would consider staying again if the home got some attention it deserves.

This home has everything you need to have a great time. It's large enough for a family of 10 comfortably. You'll love the location on the Little Lagoon with its wonderful views and the pool is just the icing on the cake. We loved this house!

The property was as described. We were able to unload our kayaks and docked them on the little sand beach in front of the house. We had a place to keep our e-bikes under the porch. The swimming pool was a bonus, it was very refreshing because of the ability to keep the water cool, after a long day at the beach, shopping, or just to hang out at the house. Was able to going fishing. Overall a very relaxing trip.

The Orion Sunset property was a great fit for the 12 of us that stayed there. First thing to know is don't miss the opportunity to sit out and watch the sunsets they were amazing! The property location was perfect for us. The house was right on the lagoon and the beach was a short walk under the bridge (2-3 min walk). As always the beaches in Gulf Shores are clean. The kids were able to fish right off the deck and caught fish and stingrays (using shrimp). The deck was shaded and was perfect for relaxing and reading a book. The pool is small and is cold so be prepared when you get into the pool. During our stay they brought a new paddle boat which we took multiple trips and got a little work out while enjoying the boat trip. The beds are firm and the bed in the crows nest couldn't be used the first night because it was too hot, but we were able to get the fan and the A/C turned down. We would recommend buying bag(s) of ice prior to arrival. Also, if you stay don't forget to fill in the guest book to help others with food, excursions or tips about the house.

House was in a great location and had fantastic views.. Pool was not heated upon arrival as promised, but the property manager came out the next day to turn it on. Close to everything including the beach.

We love the area, the location was good and with less crowds all dining and other activities, like the dolphin cruise with Dolphins Down Under, were all amazing.

loved the proximity to the main beach and the ability to fish off the back porch with little kids. Huge plus to have washer and dryer on main floor just off the kitchen. Overall, a great house for a larger family that needs lots of places to lay their heads.

The lagoon and private pool were great for the littles as well as the big kids. We also loved being on the end of a dead-end street. The beach access was closer than we imagined and the beach was beautiful and not crowded. On the other hand, one of the queen bedrooms is very small and has no closet or dresser but we made it work. The other bedrooms were plenty big and our
8 year old loved having her own bedroom in the crow’s nest. The property was clean and ready on time.

Pros: the house was clean. There was plenty of room for our large family to spread out. Also you cant really beat the location. Walking distance to the beach and the view from the back was wonderful.
Cons: communication was awful. The pool is crazy small and also freezing. Looking at reviews it seems like this has been an issue that they just havent fixed. That is an ongoing theme. The floor is sketchy. Im not sure if its bad workmanship or structural issues. Looks like a half done "update". Broken closet door in the master bath, bad paint and trim. Things that nostly didnt affect our stay (except for the floor....we tripped on that a lot) ,but we paid a lot for this place and expect better.
Overall it was fine. Honestly if we hadnt paid so much for this place then it wouldnt have been a big deal. You can get better for less.

The location is great! Loved fishing off the deck (and the pass) and a short walk to the beach. I understand the house is under new ownership and there are quite a few things that need attention. Let me first say the house was very clean and we wouldn’t think twice about staying here again. That being said, there are quite a few soft spots on the living room floor, the fridge could use an upgrade, the knives are not sharp at all and the grill didn’t work. The paddle boat needs work as only one side peddled properly, but the pool was great! The pool is small, but it was warm and has seats on the one end that are a nice touch.

The location of the house couldn’t have been better! There were 8 of us and we all had our own spaces! The decks were great for sitting outside and looking at the water. The kitchen had plenty of plates, silverware and pots and pans. Overall very nice place. There were a few things I didn’t love- it was hard to get ahold of the property management. I called about the heat in the pool, the first time we went in it was warm but then it turned COLD. I messaged the management group and they told me they would have a local person contact me. Never heard from them. There were not any “starters” as far as coffee, water, or seasonings. Every other time I have stayed in a VRBO there has been extra touches from the owners that this one was missing. It is probably due to a company managing it and not an owner. None of these were terrible just noticed the difference from prior stays at a VRBO. I would recommend this house to any large families looking for a relaxing getaway.

We loved the access to the bay. Literally your own beach area. The home on a dead end which is great for kids and pets with no beach traffic at all! The walk down the inlet to the beach was the cherry on top. Great view from three sides of the home, literally surrounded by water. Great home!

Orion Sunset provided the perfect amenities for our recent family vacation. With 3.5 baths and sleeping for up to 14, plus the allowance for a pet(s), we were very comfortable. The setting immediately on the lagoon & a 3-5 minute walk to the beach was just what the doctor ordered for a well rounded fun vacation. The paddle boat, paddle board & brand new pool were thoroughly enjoyed by all. We fixed lots of meals in for our family of ten & did lots of laundry due to so much time spent at lagoon, beach & pool, so the washer & dryer were lifesavers as was the well stocked kitchen. Even our 20 year old grandson who slept & retreated to the small loft to play his guitar, was so very excited about his private & quiet space. A wonderful week was had by all!!!!!

A hidden gem for families
Orion is hid away in a beautiful scenic area of Little Lagoon. The new owners have begun a remodel to the house that I love. We enjoyed the beach along the lagoon and the easy walk to west beach.
