About this house rental
Finding a home away from home makes for a wonderful vacation. "Red Hill House" has that amenities and location to explore the Central Rockies and have some place to come home to! Not far off of the State Highway 09 that will lead to skiing, hiking, fishing, museums, white water rafting, hunting, and exploring the west. Come home at night to take in the mountains, stars, and great outdoors from the covered deck, or from the great room windows.
The great room on the first floor is open to the dining, kitchen and one of the living rooms. The fireplace is the center attraction to all and you can lounge in the comfortable couches and chairs to watch the flat-screen television. While the chefs of the group can use the large dining table and plentiful counters to create the delicious meals. Everything you would need is available in the kitchen cupboards to feed a group. The kitchen also has both a drip and k-cup coffee machine so you can choose how to fuel yourself in the morning. From the great room you can access the covered deck with the two seating areas and propane grill. Looking at the spectacular mountain scenery and relaxing with conversation...wine or coffee depending on the time of day.
In the master bedroom sink into the new king bed or read a book in the rocking chair. There is a private exit to the covered deck and also a private bathroom to soak the efforts of the day away. When you need some quiet time, this room will provide that, along with great views out the sliding glass doors. The queen bedroom provides another comfortable bed, a reading area with a soft light and an electric fireplace to turn on. The room is cozy and right next to yet another bathroom which has a tub/shower combination.
Wandering down the stairs there is another living area that is equipped with one more flat screen television, gaming table with a country cupboard of games. The couch is great lounging area and the floor beckons to lounge in front of the wood stove. From this room you can go into the game room and enjoy the multi-purpose gaming table, pool, air hockey are only some of the capabilities. The bathroom and utility room with washer and dryer are right outside the game room. This is also your access to the third bedroom. Here you will have two sets of bunk-beds and enjoy the sleepover.
Although the house is fantastic, nothing says the mountains like having double the decks to sit and see the wonders of nature. The valley below has the South Platte River and a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. You are a quick shot away from many of the activities and outdoor attractions in the area. Go out and enjoy the Central Rockies and come home to rest, relax and make wonderful memories!!

The whole house was spotless, very comfortable and the views from the porch are amazing!

First the pros - house is well stocked.Master king bed is comfortable. Deck is great ,except the chairs.Grill is good.Communication is good.
Now the Cons - bring your headlight because this house is the darkest house we’ve seen in awhile. There is no overhead lighting . Master bedroom has table lamp on each side of bed, 60 watt bulb? Can’t see in the closet at night. Appears the ceiling fan was replaced but did not install a light kit on the fan. There is a switch on the wall for a light.
Spare bedroom is the same. 3 small table lamps , one of which doesn’t work. Ceiling fan is the same.
Downstairs room is not better. Light over small game table is good but doesn’t light the room. Overhead light has one small wattage bulb, think it’s a two bulb fixture.
Game room is same. Couple light bulbs over pool table and that’s it.
Living room the same , couple table lamps. Overall , just a very dark house.
Deck chairs are a hazard. They are old, dried out woven wooden chairs. These chairs are nailed together. Nails are sticking out with pointed ends and the nail head. Snags your clothes and scratches and sticks your skin. These could be dangerous for small children. Too bad there is not some nice deck furniture because the view and weather is very nice.
The management did bring some cheap plastic chairs when notified of these issues.
Shower heads in both upstairs bathrooms need replaced.
This house could be a 4 star but just seems neglected. Just taking in the money and no upkeep.

We enjoyed staying in this house. It served us very well and the location was good, and the views were great. Our only complaint and I realize we probably should have considered this better when booking was that it was a pet friendly house. We like pets, but the amount of pet hair floating around the house and in the carpets/under furniture was a lot. It affected the whole family the entirety of the stay. This can be easily fixed, and again we really enjoyed the property.

The view is absolutely gorgeous! The house itself is warm and cozy. I’m always a sucker for wood burning fireplaces but the gas fireplace was also very nice. It gave the rest of the house that extra comfy feeling. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. There is so much counter space. The dining room table is beautiful. We did a whole bunch of crafting and it was plenty big enough.
The balcony has a beautiful view. We even saw a group of deer off in the distance. It was breathtaking.

We absolutely loved this place! We stayed shy of a week and enjoyed every moment of it. From the beautiful views of the mountains to the warm and inviting property, we truly feel that is is exactly what we needed from the hustle and bustle of life. This property is by far one of the best we’ve stayed at. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable master bedroom with bathroom, ample parking, plenty of privacy, and easy access to town for groceries. We had a plumbing issue that was quickly resolved the very next day. Overall would give it 10 stars if I could. You won’t be disappointed.

We so enjoyed our stay at the Red Hill House. The front porch was our favorite spot, the view being an autograph from God the Creator. Lovely home, decorated so appropriate for the setting! Everything we needed for comfort and rest. We enjoyed going into town for needed things. Also enjoyed seeing Dillon, Keystone and Breckenridge. A must stay if you're craving a beautiful mountain escape!

The house has a wonderful view, more amenities than most other vacation homes I've rented, and had plenty of space for our group of five. We truly enjoyed our time at Red Hill House. Communication with the rental company was also great as they answered my texts quickly. With a few small changes, the house and our stay would have improved immensely.
This is subjective, but worth mentioning. The upstairs guest bed is very firm. I had a hard time adjusting to it and didn't sleep well the first 3-4 nights. Eventually I adapted, but the first half of the week was tough.
The house needs brighter light bulbs in the living areas and bedrooms. It was exceptionally dim in the tv areas, partially due to the light that shines on the fireplace burning out on our arrival, but with no overhead lights, the bulbs in the lamps need to be brighter.
The house would also benefit from better air circulation. Despite our altitude, the weather was quite warm, but the only windows that open in the main living area are the small window over the kitchen sink, and a small opening in the storm door to the deck. Without a stiff breeze, it got pretty stuffy in there. There is a sliding glass door out to the deck, but it was modified to stay closed permanently and there is no screen door, so we couldn't have used it anyway without bugs or hummingbirds getting inside. If there are no plans to make the sliding door usable again, I recommend bringing a box fan to help with air circulation during the summer months.
Like I said before, it was still a good place to stay for a week. Hopefully they will take my suggestions and experience into account to improve things for visits in the future.

I particularly enjoyed renting this house, I looked a lot before renting and it met my expectations. We spent 8 days as a family.
The house has everything to accommodate a family well, in winter rent a car with 4 wheel drive. I recommend!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay the Red Hill House with a few caveats (stated here, privately, for the property managers):
1. Several portions of the house were not clean. This included: downstairs bunk room which had cat hair and pet dander on several beds, roll out bed which was very dirty and other portions of the house which were not vacuumed or hastily cleaned.
2. There was dust and pet dander which triggered allergies amongst members of our family. We were aware that we were staying at a pet-friendly house though did not expect pet dander on pillow covers, etc.

Our Redhill Second Home was just perfect for our family. The grandkids especially loved the bunk room, game room with the choice of playing air hockey, pool, or ping pong. Plus the many board games. Our favorite was sitting on the large deck watching the wildlife and sunrise over the mountains. We viewed many elk, the horses in the fields below, hummingbirds, rabbits, ground squirrels and more. One afternoon while playing a board game at the kitchen table a mother deer walked past the window with her fawn. The house had everything we needed to cook and prepare meals. The backyard was perfect for hiking around on and the kids built a fun fort out of tree branches. It was a perfect location to visit Breckinridge and the many hikes and Buena Vista to white water raft. We hiked McCollough Gulch Trail to view the wildflowers and waterfalls. We saw a moose. We rafted with Noah's Ark in BV, we kayaked and paddle boarded on Lake Dillon. The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 3 children and 2 dogs. Our host was helpful and checked in with us often to see if we needed anything and made sure we knew he was always available. We felt well taken care of. The cabin look and feel gave us a true Colorado mountain experience. Many books and movies too were available. Thank you. We hope to come back again.

The stay was lovely. Would add the Keurig onto the amenity list. I suggest you let guests know they need to bring essentials such as toilet paper, garbage bags, soap and napkins as some of these items were not available and others we ran out of within days of our stay and a store was not convenient to our location.

5 stars! Spectacular location looking over mountain ranges and the river and valley below. House is warm and cozy with stone fireplace, new beds & quality furniture. We are able to feel like we really got away yet were not too far from town for supplies. Plus, work video conferences were perfect with the high speed internet! Family game room offered a lot of fun too. Wish we could have stayed longer! The retreat that has it all!

Great views, cozy living - perfect retreat!
A real getaway just outside Fairplay, CO - the Red Hill house offers beautiful mountain range views nearly wrapping around the house with a private, quiet location on the side of the bluff. The large stone fireplace and comfy couches gave us the relaxing mountain home feel we were looking for. We were able to do video conference work during the week and enjoyed the game room. The interior feels brand new and has much attention to detail. Will go again!
