Please see some of our reviews in photos. When our property management company sold their business we decided to manage the property ourselves. We are new to Vrbo but have rented this property for many years with five star reviews.
Enjoy 9 acres of privacy at 1249 Ocean Blvd West with 420 feet of stunning beach frontage in the West End gated community. This exceptional property has a large pool and decking with attractive fencing which assures total privacy. "Babington" is privately maintained and immaculately clean. All bed linens and bath towels are included throughout the year. All beds are freshly made upon your arrival so that guests can enjoy a stress-free vacation in this gorgeous home. This 5 bedroom, 4 bath home accommodates 11 guests. The first floor has 2 bedrooms with a king bed in the master bedroom and a double/single bed in the second. The second floor has 3 bedrooms with a queen in the first, a queen in the second and a queen in the third. All upstairs bedrooms have an ocean view and an oceanfront porch with rockers. This home offers central heat and air, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer, quick-chill refrigerator, additional large ice maker, high-speed internet, cable TV including a surround sound, Apple TV, DVD player, telephone, upper and lower porches, enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water, fish cleaning station with hot water, covered grilling area with seating and covered parking. The private walkway to the beach has a sun deck, stargazing deck and multiple showers. The pool is nicely furnished with chairs, lounges, tables and umbrellas.

Heated pool OPTIONAL for early spring and late fall with 48 hour notice. A separate 75 dollar daily fee will be charged.
Pool heater not available Dec through February. If you choose to purchase pool heat we will turn it on prior to your arrival with the understanding that outdoor weather conditions greatly affect the pool water temperature. Pool heaters cannot operate if the temperature outside is under 50 degrees.

This is a NON-SMOKING home. Outside ash cans are provided for smokers.

Parking Notes: Guests may park directly in front of the home. There is a covered parking area as well as parking in the driveway. NOTE: Parking on the street and/or sidewalks is strictly prohibited and may result in a violation ticket or towing.

Our pool company, 4-Season's, comes by for routine pool cleaning/maintenance on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. They are quick and you probably won’t see them.
Our linen company, Shallotte Cleaners, picks up/drops off our beach house laundry on Tuesdays & Fridays. You probably won't see them either. No one needs inside access to the house. The laundry is stored in a locked closet under the carport.

We provide only enough toilet paper, trash bags and soap to get you through the first day or two. Beach and Pool towels are not provided.

We truly enjoyed our stay. You just can’t beat the privacy you get wit the Babington house. The pool is exceptional!!! Only issue we had was the downstairs master bathroom had an extra moldy shower curtain. I was very disappointed as the price paid for the week I think allowed us clean showers. Overall I’d say 8/10.

The Babington was the best place to escape for a week with my family of 9! The house was incredibly clean, with a very well-stocked kitchen! The ice machine was convenient added bonus. The pool and large deck were clean and a great place to end a day at the beach. The beach itself was near private thanks to the sprawling property the house is on. Even with the privacy, shops and restaurants are still less than 15 minutes away. A fantastic time was had by all, and we would definitely return to The Babington for future family vacations!

Our family has been doing a family beach week for 20 years in the southern NC beach area. We have switched up locations a few times based on our growing family needs. Babington was one of our favorites! Love the beach front location, plus pool!! Great porch to chill in the rocking chairs and watch the ocean. Some perks we enjoyed...ice maker, didn't realize how great it is to have!! Pool and Umbrellas! Outdoor shower! All beds have two pillows per sleeper ( as a pillow person, this is rare to find in a rental- pleasamt surprise). If you haven't stayed on this end of Holden, the house is less than a mile from the west/south end of the island....great for low tide!! You can walk around and explore a private island. A few of us got up to watch the sunrise, not very visible in the peak of summer, however we watched some deer frolic. Birds are very active. Saw a hawk have dinner:) Great moonrise from the end of the boardwalk! We will stay again The Babington's were great hosts!

This was a perfect place for friends to meet from across the country and have a long week of fun and visiting. Although mother nature was less than agreeable with beach weather the house was absolutely perfect. Spotless in every way, and had every amenity one could possibly think of. Robert was above and beyond communicative and an absolute five star host. We cooked every meal ant the house and utilized the local fish markets and grocery stores. my experience in the past is that we always have to bring extra things. This house had absolutely everything and more and everything was completely clean, functional and usable.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool and steps from the beach were highlights for my grandchildren. We loved not being right next to a bunch of houses and really enjoyed the quietness. The property is fantastic! The location is great in the gated community. We cooked several times and found absolutely everything we needed. The fish cleaning/grilling area is really nice. The pool area is beautiful. The owner is great to communicate with, but we had absolutely no issues at all. The privacy of this house and the beach area will make it hard to vacation anywhere else again! Thanks Robert! looking forward to coming back soon.

We had the best week ever!! The house was just as described online and the owner was very responsive. Once we got to the house there was no reason to leave, you have private beach access, a pool and house all there together. The house was very clean and smelled good as well. Everything was wonderful at the Babbington House. Communication with Mr. Babbington was great - instructions for the house were clear. We all enjoyed the comfort of the home - the bedrooms and baths were just right our family of 10. Kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, silverware - everything. Only suggestion would be to have more dishtowels. Pool was well maintained - as was all of the beautiful landscaping around the house. The walkway to the beach was really nice and eliminated a lot of walking on sand to get there! All amenities were thought of - and everyone in the family enjoyed our stay at the Babbington House!! Our family loved this house and had a wonderful week here. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly need. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the children loved watching the birds nesting in the birdhouses. We had six adults and three children (aged 2, 3, and 5), and had more than enough room. The property had plenty of gates to keep the children safely away from the pool and the beach. We hope to stay here again next year!

Wow, what a wonderful place to vacation. The house was impeccably clean, well maintained and well suited for a large group. Every detail was covered. Including the extra ice maker, well equipped kitchen, fish cleaning station....very private and we couldn't have been happier. Hosts were very responsive when we had questions. Excellent choice! We highly recommend it and definitely would book it again.

As good as the photos and description of this property are they really don’t do the house any Justice. Robert’s house was absolutely wonderful. The house has amazing views, plenty of sheltered rocking chairs, a great pool, and all the little things to just make for a relaxing and tranquil vacation. We had three grandparents, and three children, along with five other adults and there was just rave reviews all around. My only regret was that we could not stay longer as it was just that good of a stay. While other houses on Holden Beach look great I can’t imagine a better one than this one because of the size of the property, the ability to just be with friends and family, and to have plenty of things to do. We have already started talking about looking at when we might be able to come back next year. Highly recommend.
