The house is in a great location but could use a few upgrades. We arrived Thursday night and Friday morning had called VACASA about the shower not working , the bathroom fan shaking the entire house and no propane for the grill.VACASA did nothing with these issues. I would rent this house again if it wasn’t managed by them. Very disappointing.

This could be a great rental with some much needed TLC. A property which doesn't have air conditioning should at least have windows that open. I'd estimate that at least 80% of the windows were either broken so you couldn't get it open or had signs on them saying not to open. It was 85 and humid the entire time I was there and it was miserable being inside that house. Three fans were provided and that is not nearly enough for a five bedroom home.
Also, the deck is in bad shape. There are weeds coming up from under the wood and pieces of the side of the house missing around it. The chairs provided to sit out there were rusted iron pieces. I wouldn't let any young child out there at all. They'd come back in covered in splinters.
I'd rent there again if the deck was usable and the windows opened.

The location and setting of the house was great. It had all elements and amenities as described. However it is very dated. Several doors and windows were not functional and had signs saying not to use. Several outlets and lights did not work. The coffee maker was broken or missing a key component and did not work so we used a backup mini coffee maker. The upstairs bedrooms got very hot and the downstairs bedrooms very cold. Owners must be aware of this because there were several space heaters in the cold rooms but one of them did not work. I reported these issues to the management company during our stay and only received a response that seemed to be from a bot, which only said that AC is not an advertised amenity.

Everything was clean and it had everything we needed. Comfy beds and plenty of blankets. Fireplace was great.

Not sure if it impacted my ratings or not but I think it is fair that I say this was a last minute booking for me when another rental house pulled out on me with a day to go before our trip.
We had a group of 10 guys who were pleased with the accommodations in the house, and the great space on the main floor offered ample room for large board games.
One thing that could have been better was communication with the property management.
Another issue we had was with a lost item left at the house. Their process to open a ticket and pay a $25 fee simply to check if an item was left at the house could have been managed much better. Ultimately it took multiple days for them to respond with a message that was simply, we couldn't find your item.

This house is perfectly situated in Stowe so that you are close to the mountain as well as all the restaurants and shopping. The bedrooms are ample with good closet space. The kitchen works very well for a large group. We used the fireplace every night. Very glad I found this house for our family (of 10) vacation!

We do an annual trip with 12 people and this house was perfect. I have never been to Stowe before, but plan on going back and renting this same house. I saw reviews that said the house was dated and needed more updating. For our purposes, we thought it was very nicely kept and fit our needs perfectly with a great layout.

Great place for multiple families
Can't beat the location to the mountain and had plenty of space for 3 families. Definitely could use a few updates, but everything was functional and appropriately priced considering. Kids had fun exploring outside a bit as well w/ great bunks for smaller kids.

Perfect location
If you’re visiting Stowe there couldn’t be a better location. House is a bit dated in some aspects and the mattresses are in need of desperate updating. The main floor with kitchen, fireplace and tv can’t be beat. That floor plan alone is worth staying here for. Hot tub was not working but we were compensated for that so no issue there. You’re 5 minutes from downtown Stowe. 10 minutes from the resort. 2 minutes from Alchemist brewery and 5 minutes from Von Trapp. All in all happy but don’t expect 5 star accommodations. But again, the great room more than makes up for it.

Big but outdated
Hello! This house is nice and big and only a 10 minutes drive to Stowe. Unfortunately, the house is outdated and quirky. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace every day but were super bummed that the hot tub wasn’t working and, based on other reviews, hasn’t worked in some time. We won’t rent this property again but would look for an updated version in a similar location.

Overall very nice house. Great location close to Stowe, nice large kitchen & dining area. Clean and comfortable. Fireplace makes it nice and homey. Would visit again.
Some issues with heating in the downstairs queen bedroom. Hot tub is not operational, though we were able to negotiate some money back.

Beds comfortable but...
Big enough to accommodate many people but this house is a worn out ski house. We were all very disappointed that the hot tub did not work upon our arrival. The sink in the kitchen kept backing up, as the disposal did not turn on with the remote as set up. This caused problems with running the dishwasher, too. There were piles of garbage left in the very dirty garage from the previous guests. We planned to cook burgers on the grill, but the deck wasn't shoveled off and was filled with a foot of snow that we had to shovel in order to grill. The walkway into the house wasn’t shoveled either. The code for the house front door was 10 numbers long and we couldn't get it to lock. Very disappointing since the place is very expensive for all the disappointments that we dealt with during our stay. I think the owner needs to close it down for a week and tend to the repairs it needs in order make it more enjoyable for it's future guests. Will definitely look for another place to rent next year.

Reviewer Comments:
Had a great stay at the Adventure Basecamp. It was a great location to get the the mountain bike trails and very close to the center of town. My friends and I were delighted with the property and I would stay here again! It was also walking distance to a nice restaurant down the street.
