It is walkable to all the best shops and restaurants in Surf City as well as adjacent to Surf City pier, open 24 hours for fishing and views. You can see the lights of the peer shining on the ocean from your private hot tub. Steps away is the best ice cream, tacos, and oceanfront restaurants in town!
--THE HOUSE--
Remodeled & furnished in 2021 with guest experience top of mind, Sweet Escape was designed to be your home away from home. The house is a reverse floorplan to really heighten your ocean view with bedrooms on the first 2 levels and kitchen/dining/main living area on 3rd. (*Guests will need to be comfortable with stairs as the house is 3 levels.) All beds are made up with linens for guest arrival. We also provide luggage racks, extra pillows, blankets, etc.
FIRST FLOOR
Walk in the front door to our large open living area, two bedrooms, full bathroom, and kitchenette. The couch turns into a queen sized sleeper sofa allowing a total of 8 guests to sleep on this level. We created the 1st floor to be the FUN ZONE for kids/teens with foosball, Hot Shot Basketball, along with game or movie nights.

Two sliders open to the deck allowing you to be as close to the ocean as possible while in the comfort of home. Our newly remodeled kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful and is well stocked with brand new appliances and everything you’ll need to make gourmet meals should you so desire. There are 6 barstools in addition to a table that seats 8-10 allowing your whole group to gather and enjoy a meal together while you soak in the views. A pantry provides extra storage as well as houses 2 high chairs.
Coffee: Wake up to our coffee bar which includes a Keurig and complimentary K-cups as well as drip coffee, and enjoy a peaceful morning watching the sunrise over the ocean from the deck.

Internet/TV: We have high-speed internet and cable TVs with streaming apps in all living areas and bedrooms (except triple bunk room). We ask guests to bring their own passwords for streaming services so you can access your accounts.
Work Remotely: We provide a foldable table and folding chair that can be moved to the room of your choice for remote work.
Smart thermostat: 2 separate ecobee thermostats keep the house comfortable for everyone.

This house sits in a perfect location with local restaurants, coffee shop/ice cream and the local grocery store. You can walk out the back door from two bedrooms or the upstairs living room and head right to the beach!!

What a beautiful property and location. We had enough parking for 5 cars and once we parked them, we walked everywhere! The house accommodated our multiple families so well and we loved being steps from the beach. The beach itself was also well maintained and beautiful.

We enjoyed our stay . House was nice bedrooms were small better for children than adults . Master bedroom was comfortable. Living area nice but couch not real comfortable .Property manager was nice and replied quickly. Overall great place to stay but alittle pricey

We had a great week staying at Sweet Escape. The owner and property manager were very easy to communicate with and made the check in and check out process very easy.
They were very accommodating to allow us to bring our dog and have basically thought of all the necessities. It was nice to not have to worry about linens and all the paper products- all of it was provided. So much nicer than having to bring or rent linens (as I’ve had to do at other properties in the past). And the appliances are so nice and up to date - with two full size washers and dryers! The only thing we did do was purchase another electric frying pan because almost all of the pans in the kitchen were smaller and warped from use. There was a really large electric griddle and that got used every day - but with our large group we needed another big pan.
The views are amazing and it’s great to be in walking distance to so many things - including the pier. The only drawback for me was that it is directly next to a busy public access and I feel like it could get crowded on the beach especially during the busier season. However, I would definitely give this a five star rating and stay there again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time away together at your place. Everything was wonderful. They have everything you need and then some. Tons of stuff to do for kids (games, beach toys, etc.) and lots of stuff within walking distance. We got to see the Dolphin Plunge while there and that was a fun experience for all! If you aren’t used to stairs, you are in for a workout but it comes with a beach house. Waking up to the sunrise and waves everyday made up for it 😉
The only con was the beds. Not sure if they were recently replaced but the 2 queens and king are very hard and uncomfortable. Bring an egg-crate if you need a softer bed.
Other than the beds, we loved the house and our time there and would stay again and recommend it to others.

Our stay at Sweet Escape was absolutely amazing. This is our third time here in the Topsail/Surf City area and we really love it here. I will begin my review of the home by noting on Jamie’s true professionalism and courtesy throughout the entire booking process. He made everything so easy and was there to answer any of my questions. Now the home was one of the nicer ones my family and I have stayed in. Located in the heart of Surf City, you could basically walk to most of the amenities. My dad and I love to fish and it was really awesome to have the pier right beside us. The house itself was a real “gem”. It had plenty of space for big families, was very clean and neat, and was equipped with most of the basic necessities. I’m a grown man but a kid at heart so I really enjoyed the basketball game and foosball table. And last but not least, THE VIEW was the best part. Listening to the waves crash at night and in the morning was truly enjoyable. I recommend this property to anyone searching for a relaxing getaway. Thanks and great job!!~Eric

Sweet Escape was our home for a week and was absolutely perfect!! We loved how clean it was and it had everything from a coffee bar to a fully stocked kitchen to the most amazing view!! We had plenty of room for our group of 11 adults and were spoiled with a washer and dryer for those salt water swimsuits at the end of the day. Christina was lovely and was helpful throughout our stay for any questions or needs that we had!!! We will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful home, nicely updated and large enough to accommodate a big family. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and shops which is very convenient. The house is great for kids - mine especially liked the basketball game in their room. There are plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys, and towels - everything you need for the beach! The back deck has stunning views and is very private, another perk we enjoyed. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. There are 2 washers and dryers to help you keep up with the laundry during your stay. The property manager was readily available and texted me the morning of our stay with her contact information if we needed anything. If you want to be close to everything in Surf City, do yourself a favor and stay here!

The property was clean, well stocked with essentials, and in a absolutely incredible location right on the beach! In addition to beautiful views and walkability to many restaurants, we appreciated that the house included beach towels & chairs as well as many household items like paper towels, laundry detergent, and shampoo.
The property manager was very kind and helpful, too. Our family enjoyed our stay and we look forward to returning to Surf City!

The house was very clean with all the kitchen amenities you need, beach towels, games to play and beds are comfortable. Two washers and dryers are a luxury. I did notice beach equipment and baby equipment(high chairs and portable crib) but we did not need these during our stay. The house is centrally located in Surf City which is very convenient to walk to the grocery store, coffee shop and ice cream. The deck looking out over the ocean is very comfortable and gets a nice breeze. Having the main living area on the 3rd floor is nice since it has the best view and deck. You do need to be good with stairs to rent this house since bedrooms are on 1st and 2nd floors and living area is on third floor. The first floor does have a kitchenette with a full sized fridge which is helpful for storing additional drinks. The beach does get crowded since it is close to the public access so you need to claim some beach space early.

We stayed at Sweet Escape in mid-October for a long weekend with extended family. It was grandparents and two families with young kids. The house was the perfect size and set up - the adults slept on the main bedrooms on the middle floor and the kids slept on the lower level. We loved that two of the bedrooms had ocean views.
The location could not be more perfect. We loved being right on the ocean. The house is also right next to the public access road, which made it easy to haul all our stuff from the car onto the beach without having to navigate through the house and stairs. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. We were told the area gets pretty crowded and noisy during the peak seasons, but we were there during off-season and it was perfect. We loved the convenience of being so close to everything.
Communication with the host was great. We got lots of communication leading up to our trip with tips and recommendations. There is also a manager on the island that very responsible and available to assist with our needs during our stay.
The only minor issue we encountered was that we did see 3 cockroaches / water bugs during our stay but maybe that just comes with the territory of being near the water.
Overall very pleasant stay. The house had everything we needed and we could not have asked for a better beach weekend!

Beautiful Home in a Fantastic Location
This property was perfection inside and out. If it had rained all week we still would have had a blast. The beach is right outside your door...and it's walking distance to EVERYTHING, including ice cream, coffee houses, gift shops, surf stores, grocery stores, jet ski rentals, a giant candy store and best of all a gormet donut shop that sells WARM homemade donuts! Safe, comfortable, and relaxing. Would definitely rent again!

Our family came from all over to reunite on the short vacation. The beach, the house, and the easiness of checking in were all perfect. Surf City is also very laid back and almost everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. Accessibility to the beach and the weather for us couldn’t have been better while we were there. This property was just as advertised and worked well for our group of 8 adults. The views are great and we were actually there during a blood moon which was remarkable. Area restaurants are good and great ice cream shops all over. I highly recommend this place for a great beach family experience.
