About this house rental
Woeppel Landing is tucked away on an acre of land in a quiet little neighborhood but yet just a stones-throw from all your mountain activities and adventures.
Hiking, biking, tubing, snow tubing and fishing are all within a couple miles yet Asheville and its attractions, including the Biltmore Estate are only 25 to 30 minutes away.
Even though it feels like you’re a million miles away from it all, just a short 8 minute drive brings you to the charming town of Brevard. Just a few more minutes down the road is Hendersonville and its quaint downtown. Woeppel Landing’s aviation & travel decor is in homage to three generations of pilots in our family.
BREVARD:
Super cute little town. Easy enough to park right downtown and walk to all the sights. With kids In tow, you can’t pass up the three story OP Taylor Toy store and then hit up Rocky’s local soda shop. For unique shopping, make sure to check out Mantiques and DDBullwinkles outdoor store. While the kids are still on a sugar high, head into Pisgah Forest and check out all our beautiful waterfalls.
Looking Glass falls is a short drive into the forest and has parking with a tiny walk down to the falls. For a full days adventure, rent a tube at the entrance of the forest and lazy River tube down the river or spend the day at Sliding Rock. If the weather is dreary, you can check out the Fish Hatchery at John’s Rock or the Cradle of Forestry for kids entertainment in Pisgah. On a pretty day, the 25 minute drive up 276 from Brevard to the Blue Ridge is worth the spectacular view. If it’s supper time on the parkway, The Pisgah Inn has a stellar and fancy menu.
*Jordan’s has a lovely brunch
*Morning Social is your best breakfast in town.
*Jet’s & Pizza Hut deliver
**It’s a 15 minute drive into Mills River but Conosur is our favorite place, serving Cuban & Peruvian food.
DUPONT/FLAT ROCK:
DuPont Forest is a must. It’s a 15 minute drive to Park at the High Falls access parking lot (with visitor center and bathrooms) and take the three-mile hike to three stunning waterfalls. You can spend an entire day hiking in DuPont but if you’ve got time to spare, head out to Sky Top Orchard. Pick some apples, swing by their petting zoo and don’t forget to snag a hot apple-cider donut! If you would rather a little beauty and serenity, The Carl Sandburg Home is lovely and also has goats for the kiddos.
HENDERSONVILLE:
A 25 minute drive East takes you to the charming town of Hendersonville. Hit up the Elijah Craig Gem mine (on 64) for the kids and then make your way downtown. Parking at either end of the Main Street will give you access to all the quaint shops and restaurants. Make sure to check out Mast General Store and Kilwins Chocolates.
Always call ahead for hours and availability but on a rainy day for kids:
Hendersonville kids museum
Hendersonville pinball arcade
Hendersonville aquarium.
*The BEST pizza in the area is Pie Squared, in Hendersonville. (try The Tomato Pie)
ASHEVILLE:
Half hour - 40 minute drive gets you to Asheville. You can spend and entire day checking out the downtown. If you are into breweries, almost all of them have outdoor seating and food trucks as well as outdoor games for kids. On a pretty day, New Belgium for example is perfect for a family stop. For indoor activities:

MILLS RIVER:
Mills River is a 15 minute drive, headed towards Asheville that is HOPping with breweries!
Sierra Nevada Brewery in Mills River is one of our favorite places. Anyone that comes to visit, it’s a must. They have an excellent menu and it’s just a really family friendly atmosphere. On weekends there is live music on a tiered, outdoor auditorium with games for kids and a garden you can walk through. Since the pandemic, Sierra Nevada has been reservation-only so please be sure to call ahead.

Wse loved the house - very comfortable and great split plan. It really was peaceful and quiet ..we enjoyed sitting out on the deck having coffee and we had lunch one day..
We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit one night r dogs like the watched it till it went out. Our dogs liked the yard and enjoyed little walks on the street. There really is water falls all over we went on several hikes and saw a few of them.. I would imagine it would be totally awesome with fall colors.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

This was one of the best VRBO properties we've ever stayed in! Was super clean and comfortable. Beds and linens were very comfy. Perfect space for the 5 of us. Communication with owner was great. Nice neighborhood. Great location - 10 min from Brevard, very close to Pisgah and Dupont. Would definitely rent again if we get back to the area!

Good times. Nice house.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the house. It was clean and comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the back porch enjoying the weather. We found everything we needed in the kitchen, and loved the new appliances. The owner was very attentive to answering our questions, and we enjoyed the gift basket. She was very sweet to have some essentials in the bathroom too. We look forward to our next visit.

Loved this home!
Everything about this house was exactly what we were looking for in a mountain vacation home. It was the cleanest home we have ever rented in our many years of renting with VRBO. The owner was so accommodating, answered all our questions promptly, and immediately fixed the one minor thing we reported.
The home location was also wonderful. Easy to access and close to towns to explore and nature trails to hike. The property was well maintained and easy to take our dog on short walks.
We would definitely consider returning next summer if we decide to come to NC again.

Perfect for our group
The communication leading up to and during the trip was excellent. The house is beautiful and clean with well thought out amenities to make the stay comfortable and convenient. Small touches like toiletries in the bathroom and USB outlets by every bedside are just a couple examples of the thoughtfulness they have put into this home and their guests. We look forward to staying here again!

Great location close to Pisgah National Forest and DuPont
The property is lovely and quiet. The kitchen has been newly renovated and the appliances are great. The kitchen needs new pots and pans, the existing ones are past their prime so bring your own if you plan to cook in as we did. Also needs a few serving bowls. The bedrooms and baths are nicely appointed with all our needs. The tv’s were easy to figure out. We brought our dog and were hoping to let her hang out in the back yard a lot but the back yard has a lot of overgrowth and we were worried about snakes which can be an issue in the mountains. We see them on the trail all the time. But with the great location and really great bathrooms and kitchen, we’ll definitely be back.

So Nice And Quiet!!
This home is in a nice quiet neighborhood. Jennifer had let us know there are no street lights on the road and if we were arriving after dark to let her know and she would have all the lights on at the house to help us find our way. We were having such a good time along our route on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we forgot to contact her. However, when we arrived (after dark), she had all the lights on for us anyway! SO thoughtful!! Plenty of room and very comfortable! They really thought of everything… from the goodie basket (with milk and dark chocolate 😊) and dry firewood with lighter fluid!! We liked being able to sit outside in the screened porch and listen to nature in the evenings! The only thing I would ask for is darker curtains (in the rooms that did have curtains) and curtains in the eating area and the second bathroom. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much!

Wonderful Home, Great Location
We had a great 1 week stay in this house. Everything was as described on the listing. The house was clean and well maintained with plenty of room for the family. The locating of the house was perfect for us. We spent the week hiking and biking in the near by forest. Pisgah forest was only a 5 min drive from the house.
Jennifer was also a wonderful host. She provided very good communication and was very quick to respond to any of the questions that we had. You could tell that she cared a lot of the quality of our visit and providing us with a great house to stay in.
