I slept more sound here than I have in years due to the quiet and dark. The beds were very comfortable, including the pull out sofa.

This was the perfect place for my winter Big Bend getaway. The place is comfortable and accurately described. Don't let the distance from the park fool you; it is an easy beautiful drive into and out of the park. The host was friendly and accessible. DO follow the directions and arrive by day the first time. Once you've found it, you'll have no problems finding it at night after a long day in the park.

This is a very private desert property. Its not big on amenities. What it offers is a beautiful view of the night skies. A nice fire pit and plenty of solitude.
We arrived on motorcycles and with the help of goggle earth it wasn't too difficult to find. We rode all day and sat around the campfire at night. Other than the occasional traveler passing by on the 118 we saw nobody.
Theres a little general store nearby that closes promptly at 6:30. If you want to separate the kids from their cell phones and gadgets this is the place for you.

This place was perfect for our girls trip. The RV was the perfect size for us. We make smores and sausage on the fire. The sky at night was absolutely beautiful.

I had a great solitary trip to this area and had a nice stay in the 5th wheel. This property is exactly as pictured and described. Nothing is close in the area, but this property is a great out-of- the-way home base to jump off and explore all that this gorgeous area of TX has to offer. Would definitely work for a couple. I spent most of my time on the patio with the beautiful view of the mountains. Patio has plenty of shade from early afternoon through evening. Highly recommend!
PS: The directions offered by the owner are detailed and precise. I had ZERO issues finding the property. Definitely arrive during daytime. Google Earth is your friend. 1 minute of research will give you visual help in identifying how far from Little Burro Country Story it is.

Very difficult to find with online directions. Even though we had printed off the direc9and allowed 2 hrs before dark, we could not find the fate with the given directions. Owner eventually found us driving up and down to every gate after 3 hours of searching!
Owner provided a landline inside unit in case we needed to reach her.
We had not loaded her phone no , presuming it was on the directions. Our fault! and could not get wifi in the area, to look up the property to find it!
The motel wifi , 5 miles south, could not bring it up either with their poor wifi signal, and so couldn't help us!
Suggest directions say, load google maps with the given coordinates for the property, BEFORE leaving Your departure point. Also phone no!
(There is little to no wifi on the road south from Alpine as sated on present directions)
Directions should say gate is just approx 400 yes south of store.
The property highway number should be on the directions too!
Gate has skeleton of horned cattle afixed to gate.
Number of property is ...-----.. and is on a wooden post in front of and to left side of gate.
Directions should include telephone no of owner (only answered when owner has wifi). Tel no of store could also be included and suggestion to go to store before dark if lost. (Store is closed at night and has no lights!)
There are no blue lights on the gate post!!!! Only 1 faint solar light on 1 side. Only visible in pitch dark.
Trailer is lit up at night with a string of bright blue lights along deck railing. Approx 400 yds in from road. (That info would have really helped us)
Hope that helps future guests!
Be aware property is very old, lights are poor, kitchen lights dont work (so bring a battery lamp of good flashlight.
Stove clicker to light propane burner does not work, so unless you have matches, you will be unable to cook on stove!
Good VERY hot water but poor pressure, enough for short shower to save water.
Bed comfortable.
Property needs a deep clean and some modernising.
Propane heater in living room heats unit well but has to be turned off now and again as bedroom gets too warm! It was several degrees below zero Celsius at night, but we stayed warm. Unfortunately too cold to make use of outside sitting areas.
Property is about 30 mins drive from Big Bend entrance. 45 mins from main visitor Center inside the park.
Scenic drive to gate.
