Gorgeously situated on the shores of Echo Lake, this waterfront home in Bigfork is a place for swimming off the dock, kayaking with a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, and fishing for prolific perch, northern pike, rainbow trout, and smallmouth and largemouth bass.
This two-level home sits on a beautiful property on the southwestern side of Echo Lake, on a small peninsula that enjoys incredible views of the water and mountains. It's a scene best witnessed from an innertube floating off the dock or a seat on the grassy lawn, the spacious back deck, or the upper-level balcony.
The interior was designed for families looking to spend time together, with a casual first floor that brings together the living room, the kitchen, and two dining spaces. The kitchen has every essential appliance and a prep island with bar seats for three, plus two adjacent dining tables that seat eight and six, respectively. Gather for a movie in the living area after dinner or head upstairs to watch TV in the comfortable den that is part of the first bedroom. There are two bedrooms in the main part of the house and a third bedroom across a breezeway in a cozy, cabin-like space with a TV, bathroom, space heaters, and air-conditioning unit.
THINGS TO KNOW
The adjoining cabin is unavailable during colder months as it does not have plumbing or heat.
This property is managed by David Wilson of Vacasa Vacation Rentals of Montana LLC, license #PMP-RPM-LIC-118717

The lake front and access is terrific! The view is wonderful. The house needs upgrades such as dishwasher, A/C working, TVs working. Overall we liked it very much.

We were so looking forward to this rental. The reviews are not wrong about the view, great lake access, enjoying outside. Beyond that, the value of this place plummets. It's not as advertised. The negatives we encountered were: Vacasa information about property entry came late and internet info was wrong. Response to issues was poor. We had difficulty entering, there were problems with the locks. Keys would get stuck. The Cusinart grill is not worth using, doesn't work, extremely dirty, and the owner doesn't want you to use the Traeger. The bedroom/bathrrom situation is not as advertised. Says 3 bed rooms, 3 baths, but more like one bedroom behind one common room with beds, and one external shed room without good A/C and only a toilet, sink not working and apparently for over a year based on comments. No privacy, no bathroom access at night without disturbing others. Maybe okay for a single family with lots of kids, that's about it. The kitchen is small, not much storage room. The living room wall is a garage door. Cleanliness issues - peperoni pizza and toenails among cushions in the living room. No fire pit as advertised. Much better out there for the money due to the maintenance and comfort issues. One of the more disappointing places we've stayed at to say the least. Good luck if you stay here.

Great location in a nice neighborhood on Echo Lake. The home was clearly remodeled in the past so has an odd layout, but it was functional and the outdoor decks and sitting areas were enjoyable. Most amenities were available, we just wish there were better pots and skillets for cooking meals. The private dock and kayaks were great and we purchased a 3 person inflatable raft and left it there for future guests to enjoy. :-)

Beautiful property. So clean and organized. Communication with the property management/owner was perfect and they were very accommodating. We loved our stay!

This place was perfect for my family to enjoy. We had a blast swimming off the dock or just floating in the boat waves. Plenty of space for everyone. This is a great place.

The location is fabulous! We had plenty of room for the family as far as beds and hangout space. We could cook, grill, and make basically anything we wanted with all of the supplies in the kitchen. So often we stay places that don’t have any spices or enough kitchen supplies but this was great! Coffee every morning overlooking the lake and then spent all day there swimming. The tiny guest cabin was sooo cute! We didn’t use it but it’s a nice addition to the property. My family said they wanted to stay there next year! The only thing I would’ve liked was a blowup device for the water floaties. I didn’t love the idea that someone else blew on them.

Lake access is fantastic

We LOVED the view and used the dock for our rented jet ski.

The lake scene and view from the exterior decks is fantastic. The home is equipped with all essentials as well. It is not a 3 bedroom though. There really is only 1 bedroom and no bedroom has its own bath. The upstairs den has 4 beds and acts as a bedroom, but it’s not a bedroom. In fact, you have to go through the den room of beds to get to the only actual bedroom. There is a detached room outside without heat or plumbing that is being called the 3rd bedroom, but I was not given access to this room. (we didn’t need this space). Be aware that an exterior wall in the living room is an actual garage door with rails and a motor still affixed to the ceiling (check photos carefully). You’ll get to open curtains to the interior of a garage door. As noted in previous reviews, internet was a problem and when it did work it’s was very slow. The network and PW we were given was incorrect and a local Tech had to come to the house to solve internet access. If you’re a close family and a den of beds sounds fun, this home will be great. If you need functional private bedrooms this home will disappoint. But let me start and end with the fact the scenery and the lake are truly spectacular for morning coffee from the exterior decks.

The view was amazing. The house had everything you need. We could not get the Wi-Fi to work. We were not able to watch any TV.

A wonderful house with a gorgeous view! I stayed here for thanksgiving with my brother and it was wonderful. While we didn’t do the full thanksgiving meal, we did use the kitchen a lot which had all of the cookware we needed plus some for any meal. I cannot stress the beauty of the view of the lake and mountains enough!

Had a great time with my family at the lake house on Echo Lake. Best location quick drive to grocery store and gas station in Flathead Lake. Views were incredible and can’t wait to go back. A family thinks the owners for a great time.

We loved this spacious house with its amazing views. Sitting on the lower and upper decks at different times of day was a real treat. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking on Echo Lake and hiking in Glacier National Park. The house was very well appointed and very comfortable.

This home was very comfortable with a great cooling system (we especially appreciated on this particular week). We enjoyed spending time there, dining on the back porch overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains. The kids enjoyed swimming from the dock.

We loved staying here and had a wonderful week. I was worried about the small AC units keeping the place cool enough, but it did! I didn’t see lawn chairs pictured, but there are lots of outdoor seating options. Lots of kitchen items for cooking (they need some new fry pans and a griddle would be nice). We took paper products so we didn’t have to do many dishes (since they don’t have a dishwasher). We used the grill and unfortunately the smoke got sucked in the little cabin unit because the AC was on. So turn that AC off if grilling (or the grill needs to be chained to a different spot on the deck). Overall we were very happy with the place and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Perfect Home and Location!
I booked this on a whim and it was exactly what we needed. The house is clean and is in a great location close to Bigfork, Whitefish and Glacier. We enjoyed the views and the kids loved being on the water and sharing the giant room to sleep. The small cabin was plenty warm without heat and comfortable. The water to the small cabin was not on due to the possible freezing weather at night but it is very easy to walk 3 steps to the main house for the bathroom. Heads up there is no dishwasher but that didn't bother us. I would book this place again in a heartbeat!
