About this house rental
Thanks for checking us out! We named our place the Lakeside Hideaway because its so wonderfully private - and because it’s on a lake! You could happily spend your whole vacation just gazing down at the water or sitting on the dock of our private cove, but there is so much more to do and enjoy that we are going to advise against it. The deck comes with a new 6-person hot tub nestled beneath a beautiful canopy of trees. From the deck, it’s a short walk down through the magnificent pines to our dock situated on our own little private cove. This is the perfect place to launch a kayak or cast a rod, or better yet to drink a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset, surrounded by Lilly pads and the pristine waters of West Emerald Lake.
If you visit in the winter, our proximity to Camelback, Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski areas make the house the perfect winter retreat. We have a fireplace and the hot tub waiting for you after a day on the slopes, and a new big screen TV where you can stream your favorite channels or enjoy the high speed internet.
And last but not least, the property is magnificent in the fall, surrounded by gorgeous trees exploding with color. It’s the perfect leaf weekend destination in October and November. The house is surrounded by woods and is very private, sitting on more than 2 acres of land, with no houses close by on either side.
The layout of the house is perfect for one or more families, with two master bedrooms, ten beds total, and four full bathrooms. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace, and is open to the kitchen. Not to be forgotten, a separate dining room, porch room, and a great basement fun area for kids of all ages - with ping pong, billiards, and foozball.
The house and property is proudly maintained - we know how important it is for the house to be thoroughly cleaned prior to every visit, and we know you’ll be satisfied with the conditions. For your convenience, we provide bath towels and bed linens.
The Long Pond area has something for everyone, with great hiking, skiing, biking, shopping, restaurants, and much more. We are part of the Emerald Lakes Association, which provides access to beach picnic areas on the lake, as well as an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. We highly recommend trips to Jim Thorpe or East Stroudsburg, nearby beautiful and unique small towns; or to the Kalahari Resort, America’s largest indoor water park, less than 15 minutes from the house.

My family and I loved this house and its location! We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the various amenities it had to offer. We will definitely be back and plan to book a longer stay! The owners were easy to communicate with and the entire process from booking to entering and leaving were seamless! We had a wonderful stay! :-)

The house was beautiful and was well maintained. It boasted more rooms than initially listed, including a total of 5 bedrooms. One of these bedrooms featured a unique setup with a bathroom connecting it to another room, both accessible through separate entrances. Additionally, a dedicated playroom filled with children's toys and infant items was available. Perfect for our 8 month old.
The upstairs master bedroom was very spacious, with a a private bathroom and a sitting area that provided lovely views of the lake.
The basement was as advertised, and was a lot of fun for the kids.
The lake was also amazing. Owner provided 3 boats for us with life jackets.
Great time had by all.

While we didn’t use the neighborhood amenities, the setting on the lake was lovely. It was so nice to have more space than the two hotel rooms for the week we had originally thought we would book.

We had an amazing time. House was great. Enjoyed the hot tub. The lake was much better than expected. There were several lakes in one. We went kayaking and fishing every day. Owner was very nice and answered any questions promptly. Will definitely go again next year!

My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay. The property is clean and private, with lots to do! Ken was very friendly and responsive. We are looking forward to booking again!

My family, friends and I had such a wonderful weekend. Bedrooms and bathrooms galore and space for everyone. Loved the privacy of the lake and all the amenities included.

Stayed at this property with group of 5 friends. After traveling together for almost 20 years, we were pleased that this house had all the things we look for to have a great weekend getaway: we all had comfortable places to sleep, ample bathrooms, and spacious area for us all to sit in the livingroom. The light switches were well labeled and the hot tub was extremely clean. Would stay here again with same group or with our families.

We had a great trip. The house was perfect. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms for 7 of us. We were close to the mountain and restaurants. The view of the lake was beautiful in the backyard. Great trip! Thank you.

The house was beautiful very well maintained. It has more rooms than listed. It basically has 5 bedrooms (the one room has jack and jill bathroom between but separate entrances. There is a separate playroom with kids toys. Lots of infant items if needed. Upstairs master was very large with private bath and sitting area over looks lake and hot tub. The other 2 rooms upstairs share a jack and jill bathroom. The downstairs master has private bath looks out over the hot tub. The corner room is small but worked for the kids. Kitchen is small but has eat in kitchen which my family like because they could watch the TV. There was a separate dining room which could sit 8 or 10. There is a screened in sunroom, we really didn't use the deck had a better view. Everyone loved the hot tub, its very hot! The basement was perfect for the kids had a futon and full-size pool table and ping pong. Plus, a 6 in one Faus ball table. On the dock, there was 2 kayaks and 2 rowboats. Only thing really needed was another double oar for the kayak. Had plenty of life vests. The cove is very private, but you still get a great sunset. Overall it was a great house!

House and amenities are exactly as listed. Very clean. New hot tub, nice sunsets, ping pong and pool table in good condition, and plenty of fishing and boating for everyone. Located near water parks and white water rafting. Definitely recommend the property.

We had a wonderful time at this vacation spot. The house is really beautiful and well maintained - great for two families vacationing together. Ken was a great host - quick to respond and very helpful.
The only downside (and it was quite disappointing) was that you cannot actually swim from the house's dock. There are boats and kayaks that you can take out onto the lake, but if you try to go into the water to swim, you sink knee deep into the sludge of the lake. This meant that us swimmers had to get into the car and drive a couple of miles to the public beach to go swimming.

The property is surrounded by trees and not too close to neighbors. An older home but nice and private. It had plenty of room for all. Basement has games and tv, fishing and boating from the dock, and hot tub on a large deck gave all lots to do. Yet not far from any store or other activities.

Great family time
House was great, could of used more bath towels. Kids had a great time fishing from the dock and using the kayaks.

The picturesque views of the lake off the back porch, the sound of nature, and the serene sense of isolation. If that is exactly what you seek, then Lakeside Vista is your place! My group of 7 stayed at Lakeside Vista over an extended weekend and all of us left feeling relaxed. There was some confusion as a new management company was brought in and the place was definitely feeling like we had opened it for the first time of the season. After communication with the owner Ken, we seemed to have cleared that up. Overall the stay was great, pictures are very much as expected, it is a very typical home in the poconos mountains that needs some updating. The only real negative we had was the water pressure, at times it felt like it was coming through at a drip, made it difficult to take showers/run the dishwasher/etc.

We enjoyed the area as the house is very well situated for everything in the Poconos. The home itself was very nice and on a beautiful lake.
When the renovations and the heating issues are completed (currently under construction) the house will be an attractive option for families.

Family getaway
Rented this property for a long weekend to getaway with the family. Sean was lively and helpful the property was clean and inviting. We had a great time on the lake, making fires outside, and hanging in the hot tub and grilling outside. Since it’s under new ownership I believe the kinks will be worked out and will only get better ( not that there were many kinks) overall we had a great time and would stay again.

Enjoyable Time Had by All
My husband and I, as well as my in-laws, stayed for a weekend and we had the best time. Sean who helps with the property, met us when we got there to help us get familiarized with the property. He was a godsend in addition to being nice and fun and answered all of our questions and really made us feel at home. While it rained most of the weekend, we didn't get to go on the water but there was plenty to do to keep us busy inside. We also all spent quite a bit of time in the new hot tub even in the rain. We enjoyed the hospitality of Ken, the new owner. We really can't wait to go back and spend more time there in the near future!
