About this house rental
Walking distance to local beaches, main street and harbor. New for 2024. the house comes with a landlord pass for free parking at all local beaches. Home is a 2-3 bedroom 2 bath house. Wonderful Cape Home located only minutes (less than 1/2 mile) walking distance to 3 local popular beaches and 3.4 miles from Craigville beach. Minutes to the historic Hyannis Docks and Main Street. Home has 1 Queen bed, 3 twin beds and 1 pull out couch. Private backyard with propane grill (new this season). Plenty of parking.
Notes added for clarity: The yard is fenced on 3 sides only and pets cannot be left out without being on a leash. The Sun porch does not have a dedicated AC unit due to the type of windows. The door to the sunporch needs to be left open to get cooled by the main ac unit. There is a pull out couch on the sun porch that can be used as a bed but it is a pull out after all so it is really only useable in a pinch. There is also a twin bed located on the sun porch. The house is a 2 bedroom and a third sun porch can also be used as a bedroom.
NEW FOR 2024: House comes with a Barnstable beach parking permit good at any local beach for only $40 per stay. Parking costs $25 per day without the permit.

The location is great. This property needs work inside and out. Yard had not been mowed, bushes need trimming very badly. There was a vine that was growing into the house through a window. There was a smoke detector hanging by wires from the ceiling. The downstairs bedrooms, the beds were very uncomfortable. Most shades were in terrible shape. There is a spot on the ceiling in the porch bedroom that looks like mold. The toilet in downstairs ran all the time. Parking was not great. Put a little time and money into the house and it could be good. Air conditioners were very noisy.

Cape Cod comfort, very close beaches, great morning walks and evening strolls along Main Street. Beach Pass big plus. We'll return next year.

The house is on a dead end street and central to a few beaches which was nice. The extended open main floor was enjoyable, the piano was a nice addition and grill came in handy (though could use some cleaning). Overall, we found a way to make the most of our week.
The house needs a LOT of maintenance that has clearly been neglected. Reviews from 2021 call out stained stairwell carpets and stained / ripped furniture that are STILL there and icky. The window blind upon entry was hanging off its hinges, yard is overgrown, flooring is stained (pics show carpets over those areas), the main lamp in the master bedroom had no lightbulb, there was a huge wasp nest above the back door, and the kitchen is extremely hot without an A/C unit in that area.
Moreover, the host parked his cars in one of the driveways without advance notice during our stay, which was quite odd, and there was no tenant book upon arrival with info like wifi passcode, trash days, etc. Maybe there is one and it was missing?
Overall, a lot of little things that could be managed fairly easily that will provide a much more comfortably stay for guests.
Note to parents of small kids: both smaller bedrooms are downstairs near entry doors and the master is up on the second floor pretty far away. We ended up having to bring two twin mattresses upstairs and having our young kids sleep with us up there for peace of mind.

This was the second year I stayed here and once again loved it! Its a very spacious home and the neighborhood is filled w friendly people. Great for walking. Its within walking distance of 3 beaches and the main st & Hyannis Harbor. Also the host is very responsive even in the evenings or early morning. I would 100% consider staying here again.

This was a good size, comfortable Cape home in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to Main St and a few beaches. I stayed for 2 weeks and was able to really settle in and feel at home.
I would definitely stay here again!

Overall we loved this house. However, the sunroom that is listed as a third bedroom is not usable in its current state: There is no A/C & the portable fan in the room didn’t work. At the time of our stay (mid to late July) there were missing window treatments on a few of the windows. Unfortunately the sleeper sofa was old, torn & stained.
This rental is listed as being a “fenced yard.” It is not. It is open on two sides. We brought our small dog with us & were surprised when we checked in. Whenever we dined outside we had to keep our pet on a long leash! It is a great neighborhood to walk in.
The kitchen is fantastic with everything & more except the built in microwave was not working during our stay & the counter replacement was minimally functional. The kitchen, as it’s a large area desperately needs a window A/C unit as the ceiling fan only moves the hot air around.
We looked to our return in 2023!

"It's a great day to be a Hawk!"
Came to visit the Cape and take in its beauty. This house was the perfect location for me since I am a walker and could walk to Main Street, the Harbor, the beach and the Baseball field where the Hyannis Harbor Hawks play in the Cape Cod League. It was great!

Review end of June 2022
The property is in a great location to beaches and to town and has the necessary utensils to eat in and there is a Keurig for coffee. We brought 2 bikes and used them every day. The owner did respond promptly when contacted with questions. Some of the issues in previous responses are fixed such as there are more towels and hand towels and the air conditioning is working. The owner also provides beach chairs. My adult children had issues with the door opening in the downstairs bathroom and we agree that the carpeting leading to the upstairs is old and has stains. The property is close to several beaches to drive to but we did not know before the trip that there is a $25 parking fee per day until 4:30 pm. There is one beach down the block you can walk to but you will need to carry all your Beach belongings unless dropped off.

Great location, clean, but needs some maintenance
Super convenient location. The cleaning crew did a good job, and it is a lovely, sunny space with lots of potential, but it needs some TLC. The sunporch is billed as an additional bedroom with a pullout loveseat, but there are no window treatments in the room, so we did not find that usable as a bedroom. Also, the loveseat is torn and the cushions don't fit. There were only 5 bath towels & no hand towels provided. The door to the downstairs bathroom doesn't fit properly and is very hard to use. Where there are blinds, many are bent and in rough shape. The carpet on the stairs is in need of cleaning/replacing. We couldn't figure out how to get the air conditioning to work upstairs, but it didn't matter because it ended up being cool enough that we didn't need it. Check out was at 11, but the cleaning crew arrived at 10:30. Not quite what we were expecting from the positive reviews, but overall we had an OK stay and appreciated the owners responsiveness to questions.

Wonderful stay
My wife and I (in our 60’s) stayed at the house for 8 nights. Our Golden retriever came too. The house was clean and pleasant. We stayed in the master bedroom which is upstairs. There is another bedroom downstairs with twin beds which we did not use. There is also an enclosed porch with a pull out couch. That was one of our favorite spots to relax with a cup of coffee or an afternoon snack. We also used it for playing guitar. Although there are closer beaches, our favorite is Craigville beach, about three miles away. Great for walking or just sitting in beach chairs which we did. The house only came with three bath towels. So plan ahead and either bring towels of your own (there were no hand towels or wash cloths) or be ready to run a load of laundry. This was a pleasant place to stay and a short drive to wherever you’d like to go. We visited in October and the Cape was quiet and traffic was never a problem. Wouldn’t hesitate to rent or recommend this lovely home.

Wonderful Week
We had a wonderful week at this lovely home. It was clean and had everything we needed (although an additional TV and an outdoor shower/access to an outdoor water source would have made our stay perfect). The proximity to three beaches was amazing and there were some great restaurants. We also enjoyed the artist shanties. Our family was delighted that we could bring our puppy with us on vacation!

Delightful
A great place for the family, and dog! Clean and spacious, close to several Barnstable beaches. You can walk/bike to the harbor or to town. FYI: no dogs on the beaches May 1 - October 1. Our pup didn’t seem to care, she had a great time too.

Wonderful Family Experience
This home has a rich history and is situated on a quiet corner with easy accessibility to multiple beaches. The owner's grandfather built this house and the care they continued to have throughout the years in this house really shows. We loved all the books that are there (for children and adults). The owner is extremely responsive. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Nice House in Great Location
Very clean and in a perfect location. We were able to walk to the beach, ferry, and the local high school where we saw three Cape Cod League baseball games. A few minutes drive to downtown and Route 28 or Route 6. Only minor quibble: the TV is streaming only so you need to have an account to watch a channel. But my son sorted it out and we were able to watch a few things.
