This house was perfect for our large family. 8 adults and 9 children. Bedrooms on each level with private bathroom for most. Great room/kitchen was large enough for all of us. Short walk to the ocean beach and larger swimming pool and hot tub. Constant fun! House was in great condition. Lots of kitchen utensils, appliances and dishes. Bed linens and towels included. We agree we would vacation here again.

Our family had a great time at the Outer Banks. The house was perfect for our family, which consisted of three generations ranging from 82 to 13. It was just a couple minutes walk to the beach, and the pool and hot tub were excellent. The main living space allowed all of us to hang out and share meals together on the upper level, and it was nice to have a second living room with a pool table on the lower level to allow us to spread out as well.
The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. The host was very responsive and able to address small issues that came up during the week which was appreciated.
Rodanthe is a less populated area with several camp sites. It is ideal if you are looking for a less crowded, more remote beach experience. We were still close enough to drive to Nagshead and Kitty Hawk to enjoy some of the features in those locations. While we planned to go to Hatteras and Ocracoke one day, we were enjoying the house and Rodanthe so much, we decided to stay put instead.

This house exceeded our expectations. It's close to the beach, the pool and hot tub were crystal clear and the beds were comfortable. Highly recommend!

This property is great for a family with kiddos. The beds are comfortable and the couches are cozy. The owner and support staff were very responsive and helpful when we reached out with a couple of questions. We would be happy to stay again.
4.8
The house was superb. Exactly what we were looking for. Clean, organized, plenty of space and privacy for guests. The property manager was attentive and quick to respond. Would highly recommend!

Our group of 18 had such a good stay here. The location is perfect...only a few steps away from the beach. The house is massive and it never felt squished even with 18 people. We didn't have any issues while we were there. I would highly recommend this spot for a large group.

My friends all enjoyed our stay so much! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots and pans, coffee mugs, plates, silverware, etc. We were able to cook multiple full dinners for 19 of us. Plenty of beach chairs available, boogie boards, etc. We hungout at the pool and hot tub every day and enjoyed how close to the beach the house was. Such a nice, quiet little cul-de-sac. We just had one small issue (not enough bath towels) but Doreen helped us out quickly. Small touches (like ice makers in both freezers, plenty of dishwasher and laundry pods, etc) really made the stay so much more enjoyable. We were able to squeeze 7 cars into the driveway pretty easily. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time, and the Owner was great. Any question, or minor issue she called right back, or sent a text within 15 minutes. And what ever the question is was resolve in a very quick fashion. Wonderful person to deal with

Wonderful location. A bit more quiet than the bustle of Nags Head. Can see the ocean from many windows! Great rooms for many generations. Having the pool in addition to the ocean was wonderful. Quick responses to questions by owner before and during stay.

Floors were not cleaned appropriately, towels were missing, furniture broken, weeds around the pool, drain stopped up, broken soap dispenser, etc.

There were 14 of us, ranging in age from 23-88. The house is beautiful and spacious. It was great to have the pool and hot tub and to be so close to the beach. We had a few minor issues; most were taken care of as soon as I reported them. One of the bathrooms had an issue with the shower which was not resolved. There were a few little things but nothing major. The one thing that we really missed having was containers for food. Sounds like a small thing, but in every other place we've stayed, there were at least a few Tupperware-type containers to store food. There were none and with 14 people, storage containers are a must. We loved that all of us could sit at one table for dinner every night. The big island in the kitchen was great for prep and food service. Loved having two kitchens and 2 dishwashers in the main kitchen. We really liked the way the house was laid out and appreciated Doreen's responsiveness.

Great property and beach very accessible! Enough space for grandparents, adults and children. Hot tub was very nice during our stay with overcast and breezy weather.

We arrived a little early for our 1pm check-in. Thought the people at the house were the cleaning crew, but later found out they were not. After they left the house, we found that we needed to clean almost everything before we could do anything. We also had an issue with locking the door. After taking multiple pictures, cleaning and finally getting myself together, I contacted the owner. After talking to the owner, the door lock issue was resolved. She then spoke with the cleaner who came by the house later that evening to explain what had happened and to make the beds that were unmade. The owner did refund 75% of our cleaning fee. The owner and cleaner were both very apologetic and very easy to talk to. The home itself was very nice and in a nice location. I just hate the situation we walked into and the stress it caused our group.

The property worked out great for our big group. The kitchen was nice and big and the rooms were laid out nicely. We really enjoyed and would stay here again.

We LOVED this house! We had a large group of friends staying for a long weekend. The property is so pretty outside, had plenty of parking for our five vehicles, and even had an extra lot on the side for our dogs to walk!
The house was spotless upon arrival - beds were all made and towels were in all of our rooms and all clean and packaged in plastic wrap.
The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, and the beach is so close. The great room has a beautiful wall of windows looking out toward the ocean. We really enjoyed our morning coffee with the ocean views.
It took us less than three minutes to walk to the beach—the whole group of 20 people! It is February, and not busy season, but we love this part of the OBX because the beaches are never crowded. The house had a beach cart with some chairs for us to use which was convenient.
Our friends are great cooks and found the kitchen well-equipped. Plenty of pots and pans, as well as serving dishes. Our group found plenty of seating at the large table and kitchen island. *We also enjoyed the two dishwashers for all the dinner-aftermath.*
We spent a lot of time enjoying the game room on the lower level. It’s great with a big sofa, pool table, tv, and wet bar with extra fridge. The game room has a door that walks out to the pool and the hot tub. The pool wasn't opened (PM said it opens in April), but we enjoyed the large hot tub! The pool and hot tub area is fenced in and surrounded by some pine trees and was very private.
We did forget a few items and had to run to the store. There is a dollar general less than five minutes down the road. They have a great grocery section—limited but had everything we needed—pet supplies, personal care stuff, alcohol, etc. We were able to order ahead on the app and just pick up at the store.
Our group had so many questions lol and reached out a ton but Doreen was amazing. She is super familiar with the area and responded quickly and offered some great suggestions and recommendations.
We are planning our annual friends outing for next year and will definitely stay here again!

Nice 6 bed property. 3rd floor has lot of space for a get together. Few issues we noticed and informed the property manager. We found a lot of bugs including cockroaches across the house including kitchen.
Music system was not working. Tv sound was not loud enough.
Swimming pool was not covered in the winter and had dirty water filled.
House was clean. Linen was clean. Proximity to the beach.
We all enjoyed the stay.

There was a slight delay in getting into the house due to miscommunication between the owners and the cleaning company. The issue was resolved and we were refunded part of our early entrance fee.
The house was everything advertised. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We had a wonderful time. All 17 of us.

This was our first time staying at this home in Waves and we are looking forward to coming back next summer. We love the location and the closeness of the beach and the sound side. There was plenty of room to accommodate our families and it had enough amenities to be comfortable. When we arrived the cleaners were still there however they did their best to get things ready. We had a couple of questions when we arrived but Doreen, as the property manger, was easy to contact, quick to respond and helpful. We loved the fact that you could easily walk a short distance from the house and get to the Dairy Queen for a sweet treat and see the sunset on the sound too. There are some nice shops in the area for coffee and gifts. Lisa’s Pizza was a must do the last night so no one had to cook! The 24 hour Food Lion was only a 30 minute drive away but well stocked even for a midnight run. The pool was a great bonus and we had the availability of the hot tub although we were so busy we only used it once. The beach was perfect for boogie boarding and yet flat enough for the littles to enjoy. There was enough space to not feel overly crowded. The family consensus was that this was one of our best and most relaxed vacations ever. This was a perfect location.

We had a wonderful time staying at Island Pines. It was very clean and spacious for 16 of us. The walk to the beach was short and the pool and hot tub were used every day. Honestly the only issue about the whole stay was not enough outside garbage pails, which they were working on for us. The house meet the needs of 5 different families and we couldn’t have been happier. We would stay here again for sure!

According to the email I received check in was 4pm. My daughter-in-law arrived at that time. Was told by cleaning crew they needed another half hour to hour. I arrived at 5:30pm and they were just leaving. Was told there was sand all over the pool table. They did their best to clean it up. The fan in the living room and several bedrooms was coated with
dirt. A light fixture in one master bath was hanging and another was loose. All air vents throughout the house were black. I don't think they have ever been cleaned. There were holes in the sheets of another master bedroom. Another had a drawer broken in the dresser and was unusable. The grill had not been cleaned at all. My son bought supplies to clean it but couldn't (I have pictures). The grease trap was so full if he tried to light the gas it would have flamed and caught everything on fire. We had to rent another grill for the week. We were told by someone that the previous people had been dancing on top of the hot tub and tore the top. We never used it. There were dirty plates and bowls in the cabinet. We were going to use them, so I hand washed them. The write up said towels were provided. Each person got one towel, hand towel and wash cloth. The coffee pot still had grounds in it The Keurig couldn't be used until it was descaled. We did not do that. The rug in one master bedroom was torn and had the imprint of an iron on it. The house is definitely spacious with plenty of bedrooms and baths. We did get a lot of use out of the pool.

Location was great.
Just a few minutes from ocean. Bedroom/ bathroom ratio was extremely desirable for our families. Pool/ hot tub was really nice to get a break from sand and salt water. And Facebook posts about heavy traffic were over exaggerated-never was at a standstill. Plus we had perfect weather all week. (Helped we could cool off in air conditioning.

The house was beautiful. We did have an issue with the pool but it was taken care of very quickly. Everyone had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend and come again!

Great place for a big group!
It was a simple house in terms of furniture and supplies, but it was great for a big group. Loved the location and being so close to the water! We timed it, and it took my 4 year old exactly 4 minutes to get from the front door to the water.
Note- they charge for beach towels (??) so if you aren’t flying, bring some from home because it was awful trying to go to the beach or pool with only white bath towels.

House was in a great location and so much room but House needs to be updated and items fixed. Also not enough garbage cans.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The home was ready for us upon arrival. We paid the additional fee to heat the pool which was money well spent! Our kids are too young to swim in the ocean so they enjoyed having that available. There were a few things that could have been done better. The kitchen and living area was spacious enough to serve our family of six. The home was a bit large for our crowd but we would consider it again for the future.

We traveled to Waves, NC for my parents 70th birthday trip. My parents have been planning on this OBX trip for two years. It was our first time coming and the proximity to the beach and weather in Sept was unbeatable. We had sunshine and 80 degree weather each day. The house had lots of room for our group of 6 adults and two kids and a dog. We all stayed on the top two floors and didn't even use the three basement rooms. Pool was great, and owner turned on pool heater when we requested. House was clean. It is no frills, but we were able to get hand soap, garbage bags, dishwasher soap, toilet paper, and basics at the Dollar General down the road no problem. My only complaint was the management company wasn't very responsive. We ran the dishwasher once on the first day and Sunday morning discovered it never drained and was sitting with dirty water. I put in a work order with the property management Sunday and they said they'd send someone right over. I called again two days later, Tuesday, as no one had come, and they said they'd send someone that afternoon. Eventually the week went by with it unfixed. Luckily the house has two dishwashers and the other worked fine! They did come to bring more propane after the second call for the outdoor grill. Lisa was lovely to correspond with and thoughtfully answered questions. If you're looking for an easy, down the driveway walk to an almost empty beach, this is for you! We even left out chairs and cabana on the beach when we'd come home for lunch and return in the afternoon. Hope we make it back to the outerbanks again soon.

Gorgeous views
Wow the views in this place were incredible. The top floor had floor to ceiling windows that gave such amazing views! We were a group of 10 adults and 8 children (all under the age of 5). I would say this house is most ideal for groups with young children. The house is older but clean with built in baby gates on both floors. Just a heads up to other groups staying here, the restaurant at the end of the street is take out only this summer, due to staff shortages. Also, if you are ordering food at any of the surrounding restaurants, make sure you call early. A few them would run out of food and close early, or have a very long wait. Definitely checkout Watermans if you are looking to dine in! Overall we had an awesome time and would stay here again if we had the opportunity!

10 Grandkids and six adults had a marvilious time at this location. Especially after the pandemic year. Eight bedrooms and 7 baths provided everyone with their own space. Just steps from the beach. All the kids had a great time in the pool too! Beds were really comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. House is well maintained and the A/C worked well. If you are looking for a memorable beach vacation, "Island Paradise" is the place to be.
