There's no breakfast with this booking. The Three Horse shoes is ideal for a base for touring the North East of England.

A fairly decent location, plenty of parking.
Staff were very friendly.
The accommodation itself looked great, spacious for our needs and we had a very chilled evening eventually.
There's not too much of a drive to the centre of town, about 5 minutes, where there's petrol station, tesco, takeaways etc.
Heating is not restricted which is a nice change from most of the places I stay at during the winter ( I travel for my job so stay in hotels, pubs etc 200+ times a year).
For everything you need or want to use there is a switch for each individual item.
For such a small place there must be 20 switches.
For example, to use the hob, oven and extractor fan as we did, you need to click 3 switches.
It was relatively clean but the floor hadn't been swept and definitely not mopped.
It's a laminate floor so we could tell, it wasn't terrible but when I was walking around barefoot stuff was sticking to my feet.
Thankfully, the owners leave cleaning materials including a brush, mop etc at the entrance, maybe hoping guests clean the place when they arrive or before they leave.
It worked, my partner did sweep the entire place to stop me complaining about stuff sticking to my feet
Anyway..
We finally settled down to watch TV and enjoyed our evening, we did notice when we arrived that the bed frame was a bit loose and squeaked but we agreed that we normally stay in one position when we sleep so might not be a problem.
Then...lol...then, we went to bed.
We knew the mattress wasn't the best but we just had a sit on it and bounced up and down when we arrived.
When we went to bed it was terrible, very uncomfortable, very hard, we didn't check but are certain it was one of those mattresses with buttons.
We had very little sleep and couldn't wait to get home for a nap.
The place could be an absolute gem if they renovated it.
My partner and I agreed we would stay again and pay more if it was upgraded.
A very disappointing experience overall.

Clean and well equipped holiday let which was close to where I was working. Comfortable bed, kitchen with sufficient facilities for preparing meals. Underfloor heating is a nice touch.
The Three Horseshoes next door serves very good food at a reasonable price.
Nothing to complain about.

The room had everything I needed a comfy bed tv and facilities to make breakfast before the great north run.
The staff who work in the adjacent pub are amazing, showed me to the room and nothing was a problem.
Food and drink was very good and a great menu which I would highly recommend.
20 minutes from Newcastle
Thank you for the hospitality

The staff were very friendly.
The bathroom was dirty as was much of the apartment. there was rubbish behind the sofa and under the bed. the floor wasn’t particularly clean, the windowsill had dead bugs on them. there was opened cereals from previous guests still in the cupboard. Shower was dirty and kept going hot/cold, there was a lot of hair in the shower tray. there was no working heater in bathroom so was very cold. The beside lamp switches don’t work.Unfortunately the price did not match the quality.
it’s such a shame because this place has so much more potential.

Didn't know what to expect so was very pleasantly surprised at the space and facilities provided by the apartment. Only stayed for 1 night but we will return again. Thanks to Clive and Lyndsey for a lovely stay, see you again very soon.
Bed side lights need to be sorted but thats a very minor thing 😉
