Nice and calm place

Carey beach is a magic place. If you're looking for a place to rest, with no crowd that's the right place. Staff is amazing, very kind and cook nice meals for an affordable price. I loved staying there, the beach is very calm, room very comfortable with air conditioning. The instructions on how to get there were really clear, communication was good.

Some crabs came in to our room during the night, but we managed closing the gaps under the door.

Playa para uno solo, Para descansar y escapar de multitudes

Lugar muy cómodo, limpio y tranquilo, pocas personas, ideal para escaparse de todo y descansar, con la playa para uno solo, mar sin oleaje fuerte. No es un sitio de multitudes ni rumba. La comida muy buena y abundante. El personal muy amable, siempre pendientes que los huéspedes estemos bien. Todas las instalaciones muy cómodas. Posibilidad de hacer varias actividades turísticas con solo preguntar (con costo adicional porque requieren transporte). Muy organizados y puntuales. Para el transporte lo mejor es seguir la recomendación del hotel, puesto que está en Barú, pero no queda en la zona mas comercial, por lo tanto no hay un flujo continuo de transporte y no va lanchas desde cartagena.

En general todo muy bien. El mar en la playa es muy tranquila, aunque no es 100% cristalina por el tipo de arena muy delgada, es muy agradable!. Diría que aunque es un excelente lugar, es un poco costoso, más teniendo en cuenta que el mismo hotel es la única opción de restaurante. Pero realmente es difícil encontrar sitios cómodos y alejados de las multitudes y con buena atención como este.

Exceeded expectations

Everything about this place exceeded our expectation. The accomodation is a new build so everything is clean and works well, good A/C in the rooms. The staff were great at answering any questions and helping out with trips and arriving at the hotel. We did the snorkelling tour and really enjoyed seeing crystal clear waters. Arriving at the location from Cartagena was a bit confusing but Camilo helped us arrange it. Bear in mind there is limited water on the island so worth bringing some with you for the first day or so.

Recomendamos a la gente que apoya en Baru que hace el servicio de lancha que se llama Cristian y a Nando en el servicio de transporte terrestre. Nos gusto. El trato y la amabilidad del personal. ❤️

It’s paradise!

It’s the perfect place if you like beautiful Caribean beaches! The hotel is right at the white beach, turquoise water, perfect for swimming and kanoeing. Hammocks and chairs on the beach. Huts/ little houses are very clean and comfy, ours had AC and fan. WiFi, electricity and water worked perfectly. I loved the nearly private beach, it’s a calm beach, ideal for relaxing, still you can walk along the beach. Food and drinks in the hotel are super delicious and prices are fair! It‘s easy to reach by boat! The place has a new owner, so you should check only newer reviews :) Canilo, Breiner, Neider, the cooking ladies are super friendly and helpful!

Sitio ideal para descansar. Playa preciosa. Cabaña muy nueva y limpia

La cabaña estaba muy nueva y limpia. La nuestra justo enfrente del mar. Un lujo. El hotel está en una pequeña playa preciosa, de arena blanca y agua turquesa. Sitio ideal para descansar. No hay nada más alrededor.

El precio de la habitación debería incluir el transporte en lancha hasta el hotel. Hay que tener en cuenta que el hotel está completamente aislado, y sólo se puede llegar en barco desde el muelle de Barú. Si sumas el.gasto de la lancha, la habitación sale un poco cara para lo que se ofrece. El menú es muy corto y algo caro. Si vas a estar varios días se haría un poco repetitivo. Además al pagar suman el 10% en concepto de "servicio", que no avisan al llegar. La zona de detrás de la cocina debería estar un poco más cuidada y recogida de trastos. No nos limpiaron la habitación, imagino que será así, pero acabó llena de arena porque la cabaña está literalmente en la playa a 10 metros del mar

La ubicacion es perfecta para desconectar, ya que no hay ruido alrededor y estas rodeado de playa (arena blanca y agua increible). La dueña es super simpatica y nos atendio en todo momento de forma excelente.

A beautiful and secluded getaway in Baru

Secluded and peaceful, friendly people and dogs, right on the beach. Food and cocktails were really good, staff were really helpful and friendly, we could use one of the canoes as well which was lovely.

The drive to get there had lots of people who were trying to stop your car (at times very forcefully by placing themselves in front of the car etc), do not stop! We would have appreciated knowing this beforehand so we'd be prepared. If you go in a taxi, the driver will know, but we hired a car.

Estadía divina en Carey

Que la habitacion estaba muy bien equipada, era limpio y las sabanas y almohadas de calidad. Ademas, la cocinera se esmeraba mucho con nuestros platos (que eran a la carta) y eran muuuy ricos y sabrosos.

It was ok but too expensive for its worth.

It is very clean. And the private beach is quiet and clean too.

There is only one dish basically for lunch and dinner, tho the chef Flor is very good, the plate is very expensive. We wanted to have lobster, so the guy helped us to buy 2 for 150000 pesos. But they want to charge us 580000 for the whole meal! I don’t understand how they came up with the number, cuz besides the lobsters, there were only a portion of salad, plantain and rice! Eventually we agreed on 300000 for the 2 full plates of lobster dinner. When we are leaving, they want 1,200,000 pesos for all the food we had there, but when I did the maths, it was 750000 pesos. We paid in cash cuz the card machine wasn’t working. The whole experience was not very pleasant for us so we will never go back.

it really could be a nice place but the hosts made us feel not very comfortable and we had the feeling they just want mo

the house is really nice and clean beds are very comfortable location is quite unique and calm you can reach a 3 star resort by foot from there which is way cheaper regarding food, best service and nicest beach. you have to walk 2 min passing a lot of dogs that are barking and a bit scary in the night.

the prices of the food are ridiculously high - they wanted 40 000 for a breakfast arepa which really feels like a rip off. not even mentioning the prices for dinner etc.

Except for the loud music, it was absolutely terrific, with wonderful rustic character.

Great hosts Pedro & Virginia. Very nice breakfast and dinner. Terrific location on the water, very relaxing.

During our one-night stay, from about 10 pm until morning, there was loud beat music coming from a party at a nearby beach house, approximately three houses away. Needless to say, we did not get much sleep. We were told by the host this happens from time to time. Action by the owner (or hosts) needs to be taken to prevent the all-night music from happening again.

Paradise retreat with boat treat and massage at the beach

Amazing private beach in a little paradise at the sea. Thé experience was beyond expectation and the staff, Pedro and Virginia made it very special. Virginia is a very good cook and gifted massage therapist. I got a fantastic massage at the lobby right at the beach . Pedro took us to a private tour around the Rosario’s Islands. We saw several of them . We visited the aquarium, saw a dolphin show. Pedro show us also a native village. Then we went to swim in a beautiful beach. His tour are priceless and affordable. I strongly recommend. If you are around any isla del Rosario call Virginia or Pedro at : +57 315 744 7905 Pedro will go to you ! This was my best experience of the vacation!

I did not like the rigidity and control of the people handling the booking and the money. ( that you will never meet) We had to pay food ahead without knowing if we are there. Paying after each meal would be fair .

An affordable getaway

I really liked the service with the private chef at the outdoor kitchen and patio by the beach. The food was delicious every meal of the day and I've never experienced that kind of private service before for this price.

There were a few bugs that made it into the house so some traps would be nice. It definitely did not ruin the experience but a bit of attention here would make a big difference.
