The whole family will enjoy their stay in one of six beautiful bedrooms with comfortable mattresses and individual TV sets. Moon Palace features two main bedrooms and a range of restful sleeping options, including children's rooms. Find a nook to read ghost stories of local legends like the pirate Blackbeard after you visit the partial remains of a 19th-century shipwreck along the beach visible from the Captain's Tower. Catch the game or keep the children entertained with cable TV (Netflix and Amazon-enabled) and a pool table in the downstairs game room with a kitchenette. Outside on the ground level is an outdoor shower for after your swim.

A newly installed elevator provides access from the carport to each level of the house, including access to the kitchen for groceries and the top-level primary bedroom.

Pros about this house- elevator is clutch bc this is a 4 story house with a ton of stairs. The view is beautiful and neighborhood is quiet. Negatives about this house- almost every stick of furniture/appliance needs to be updated/replaced. The carpet is sandy and smelly and the cleaners apparently do not clean it between visits because it was a mess when we got there. Tubs are mildewy and even when asked to come back and clean they were still gross (bought my own chlorox clean up and killed the mildew myself!!) Not going to beat a dead horse here, the company has been told about all the other stuff. Not something the owners can help but if you have a hard time with walking/climbing, the dunes in front of the house to the beach are very steep and not an easy stroll for someone with bad knees or hips. Its beautful once you get there but there are no stairs or boardwalk. We will be back to this beautiful area but not to this house.

The Moon Palace had plenty of room (we had 15 people)for everyone. Walking distance to the beach and great pool. Everyone had a great vacation!!

Moon Palace was a delight. While the cleaning left something to be desired, the home itself had everything we needed for our first time visiting the Outer Banks. We were not familiar with the area but grew to love the quiet nature of Salvo as we ventured out to more touristy towns. It was a nice little oasis to come back to. This home does have a LOT of stairs so beware if you are traveling with anyone who does not do well taking multiples trips up and down. The photos made the beach walk look very far away, but we were pleasantly surprised it’s really not that far at all. Wide beach, pretty setting, and nice ocean views from the living area when it was too windy to be outside.

We loved our stay at Moon Palace! We maxed out the house in occupancy and still had room. We kept losing kids in the house LOL! The views from the perch were amazing and nothing beats being on the beach with nightly bonfires. The house is a little dated - but we didn't care. It was clean and stocked. Our property manager was FANTASTIC. The listing says 2 cars for parking -- that's incorrect. Don't let that stop you from booking. We had a camper van and 3 large vehicles with driveway to spare. Highly recommend for price and location.

The house is as advertised. Long hot walk to the ocean and can’t see the water from the house. House needs a few updates but it’s nice. It was clean but thats only because the cleaners had to come back after the “inspection”. Had a few issues and Mgt company was slow to do anything. Had bug issue they never solved.

The property was great for a relatively large group (12 adults). Five bedrooms for adults and two tailored to kids. Well stocked kitchen, hot tub, nice deck, unheated pool. Beach access. Master bedroom had incredible views of the ocean. Moon rise, sun rise and off shore storms were great to see.

We had to leave earlier than scheduled because of the Storm, nice house very spacious, had a few steps on back deck were completely off. Had to call to get them fixed, they said that they only had one maintenance guy for the whole area. He did show up, did an excellent job. The cabinets and walls were dirty, hadn’t had a good cleaning for awhile. Also blood on the inside railing (several places), we cleaned it up. (Wasn’t very happy about cleaning up blood). We did get a refund of $112.00 because we had to leave early. Thank you

Location was great and home was nice but needs a good handyman to fix many issues. Appliances and kitchen items not appropriate for size of home and need major upgrades.

House was spacious with fabulous views, private beach and wonderful decking for great outdoor experience. Pool and hot tub were wonderful. Cleanliness was not up to standard; don't believe the house was cleaned at all prior to our arrival. That certainly put a damper on our stay. Couches also needed replacement/fabric cleaning. Location couldn't be better.

Great location, semi-private beach access/area with not many other people around, we loved having a fire on the beach! The pool was very nice and the kitchen was well stocked! This house was built in 1994 and can use some upgrades/repairs... Vacasa team was prompt to respond to several maintenance issues we had. The house was not cleaned very well prior to our arrival. The owners need to invest in some larger TVs, they had 25" TVs in the rooms. Also, if possible the WiFi needs to be faster and more reliable, we had a lot of issues with it.

We were so pleased with our visit to Moon Palace. The view from the top floor for sunrise was beyond compare. Hot tub and pool table were great foe the teenagers. Loved the kitchen offerings! We always worry about homes being child-friendly, but I had no worries about my kiddos safety at all - stair rails were great, sliding glass door locks worked, no expensive unnecessary embellishments. We unfortunately came the week of the nor’easter that took 3 houses out to sea just north of us. The house was large and kitchen well appointed for some great meals. TVs are small - we normally would not use them, but the weather made for movie watching. Will be back next year to try again!

OBR is the top vacation rental company on the OBX in our opinion and we have enjoyed our relationship for six plus years.
