About this house rental
Château Soleil is french; château = large estate and soleil = sun, which is perfectly fitting, as this estate offers large windows throughout that let the sun and beach views extend inside the five-bedroom, three-bath home, and also offers storm shutters for those who enjoy total darkness for sleeping late.
This amazing home offers one of the best decks in Galveston with three access areas from the home. Talk about expansive, with tile flooring, natural wood above, unobstructed views and a railing that allows guests to see the view even when sitting and relaxing.
Château Soleil is an open-floorplan, great for entertaining guests and holding family get-togethers. The living area offers a 2-story vaulted ceiling with almost floor-to-ceiling windows, a large U-shape sectional sofa, complete with an interior overlook from the second floor.
Château Soleil The kitchen is wonderful for entertaining, with plenty of room for moving around, stainless steel appliances, French door refrigerator, ice-maker, granite countertops throughout, 2 huge islands, and an extra bar sink! This is the kitchen for you foodies out there! The kitchen is open to the dining and living areas.
SLEEPING: The true primary bedroom (king bed sleeps 2 + sofa sleeper sleeps 2) is located on the second floor with an ensuite bathroom. A second primary is also located on the second level with a queen bed (sleeps 2) and an ensuite bath. From the second primary bedroom, guests may access the loft bedroom, located on the third level, which offers a full over full bunk (sleeps 4). Two additional queen bedrooms (2x2, sleeps 4 in both bedrooms) are located on the first floor with a jack and jill bath between. Please note, to access the second bedroom on the main level, guests must pass through the first bedroom. Château Soleil may accommodate a total of 14 guests.

Spanish Grant is a quaint, cozy, welcoming, friendly, island beach village, established well before the ’90s, located just seven miles West of 61st Street, with just three rows of beach homes and offers multiple pathways to access the beach. The beach in Spanish Grant is not a drive-on beach, which many families with small children prefer.

This vacation home should accommodate up to 4 vehicles to be parked at the property. Carpooling is highly recommended. Vehicles should be parked in the driveway or designated parking space. Spanish Grant offers three (3) approved public pedestrian pathways to the beach in Spanish Grant; at the end of Spanish Grant Blvd. and the east and west ends of Ventura. Please do not enter the beach at Buena Vista dunes or by cutting through private property to access the beach. Parking only allowed on the beachside of the road on Buena Vista from the beach.
Outside/exterior security surveillance is present at this home for the security of the home and our guests.
Even if listed as a provided amenities, Ryson is unable to guarantee specific cable package, network or channels or cable and internet signal quality and cable may not be available on all TVs.
All reservations require a completed Ryson Rental Agreement, and the agreement holder must be at least 25 years of age to rent this property and provide a valid ID at check-in. Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is at 10 am.
EXTENDED STAYS
Monthly rentals are considered in the off-season - Winter Texans, snowbirds, retirees, corporate stays, medical professionals, university students and plant workers are welcome. Extended stays or monthly rentals require a stay of 30+ nights, and these reservations are tax exempt. This is an immediate savings of 15%! Although most extended stay reservations are between the middle of November through February, extended stays may be considered anytime between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Extended stay reservations may not be placed online, but a Ryson Vacation Planner would love to answer any questions you may have and help you reserve your extended stay.

Nice place and was clean, but its just showing its age. Needs some paint and sheetrock work because of leaks. It has a few mile on it. But I would still rent it again.

Location is absolutely perfect but house needs some serious tlc and upkeep. Also, there was no internet connection. Called property management with no resolve. Lack of wifi caused some family members to leave for periods of time to get work/schoolwork completed, which was disappointing and took away from quality family time.

We enjoyed our stay, loved the view and truly just steps to the beach. The house has A LOT of stairs, be prepared. Did we mention the view was amazing. We had 2 dogs with us and they did not get grass burrs every time they went out like we have in other houses previously. The beds were comfortable.

The location is great and steps from the beach. Would be nice if they provided some extra towels and more trash bags for the price we pay. We each had one towel for 4 nights but not enough for everyone. As you walk up the stairs to the second floor bedrooms the last stair on the first landing is not level and our 2 year old tripped and fell down the stairs. There was a hole cut out in the wall probably for repairs in one of the first level bedrooms and not completely covered. There was a screen door on the deck broken off and laying on the deck. When we got there all trash cans outside were full. Had to live with bags of trash in our kitchen for 4 days until trash day. We still enjoyed our stay but for the price it should be better taken care of.

This house is really fun! Every room has a view of the ocean as you are literally on the beach. There were no issues with communication, the accommodations were great, and we had plenty of room for four adults and three kids. Everything went perfectly well and it was easy to reserve, check in, and leave. If you are looking for a getaway directly on the beach, I recommend this house!

This property was great!
Pros:
- Location cannot be beat; literally 25-30 steps to the beach
- So many balconies! Every level had a balcony; the bedroom with the king bed has a screened in balcony, you can leave the doors open at night to hear the waves if you want to. Perfect for drinking coffee in the mornings and watching the sunrise!
- Big beautiful windows on every level for taking in the view
- Well-stocked kitchen as far as utensils go; two different fridge/freezers to put food in
- Living room/dining area/kitchen all open to each other, perfect for larger groups to be able to congregate
- Bedrooms are spacious
- Air conditioner works VERY well!
Cons:
- Stairs, lots of them! This house is more difficult for elderly or people with bad knees to navigate; there are two flights of stairs to go up to get to the main level of the house, and another two flights to get up to two of the bedrooms
- There are two bedrooms on the main level, and you have to go through one of those bedrooms to get to the other bedroom; not a problem if everyone is going to bed at the same time or if privacy is not a concern, but might be an issue otherwise
- There is a washer and dryer, washer works fine but dryer does not dry very well, especially if you are washing and drying towels; most of our items had to be tumble dried for a few hours to get dry, whereas the towels had to be laid out to air dry most of the way before finishing in dryer

The house is nice and has great views of the ocean from every room. Even though some had to walk through different bedrooms to get to another we made it work. Some shutters didn’t close all the way. Back door to deck doesn’t lock but the shutters closed. No table on the deck. Telescope on deck doesn’t seem to work. No stairs from the deck to the ground. A couple other things didn’t work. Worst of all the freezer went out. Ryson Rental was not easy to get a hold of and did not always respond the same day without being persistent which took me away from family time. Before the trip I sent questions that did not get answered for three or more days. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon. Discovered the freezer was not working Friday morning. We were not given a workable solution until Saturday morning. We had to buy extra ice to keep food mostly frozen.

I used Vrbo and stay at Galveston a few times a year and have always been pleased. I was, however, very unhappy this time around. The house had zero amenities. I had to buy my own trash bag for the trash cans, and then some. I had ants in the downstairs shower. The AC stopped working and no one came to fix it. I ended up leaving early. I will not be coming back.

We had a few big issues occur during our stay and thank you to everyone for how quickly everything was fixed and organized. Immediately we had teams come to fix the issues, and we felt so supported and heard.
The house is amazing, the location could not be greater and the views are wonderful from every room!
We had infants, toddlers and adults staying and everyone always had something great to do.

Looks can be deceiving
One of the bedroom is up a spiral ladder no bathroom and you have to enter into a bedroom to get to this bedroom. You are not supposed to have people over for dinner said no more than 14 people internet does not work other than that we had a wonderful time it was a family reunion and location was great

Great location
This was a great location on Galveston and the house was terrific but there are a few things I feel need mentioning. When we arrived we noticed silverware included 4 big spoons, no small spoons, 6 knives and lots of forks. There were 11 of us so we needed more silverware and did not want to go shopping so I called and left a message with Ryson... never got a call back. We ran to Walmart and bought plastic silverware for the rest of the trip. Also found a few more big spoons and knives in the supply closet so added those to kitchen... never found small spoons. Also, the first night we were all tired after traveling and went to bed early... at 10:10pm the speakers in the main room started blasting KRBE radio (rock music) super loud. We spent 10 minutes trying to find how to turn it off. We finally called the night emergency line and the woman was able to call us back in a few minutes to say the controls are in the front bedroom closet on that floor... but there was no on/off switch so we just started unplugging things until it went off. She said she would make a note (obviously irritated we called). The next day we found instructions to the app that had control of the system. The previous renters must have set an alarm. Ice maker had ice when we arrived... but never made additional ice.... we reported it but again did not hear back. Final comment is that we rent a lot of houses and have never been told to bring our own trashbags, dishwasher cleaner, paper towels etc.. I'm glad we were told ahead of time because these are items we never pack... be sure to pay attention to this long list they send you before you arrive. Honestly I'd rather pay an extra $50 or $100 to have these items there... our cars were full with beach items and luggage! Otherwise the house was great! Wonderful location, big parking area... nice outside shower to wash off the sand before coming in the house. Huge kitchen

Amazing views!
This house was beautiful with amazing views! We’ve stayed at several houses on the beach and this was by far the best! The wrap around porch was gorgeous! There is a great loft on the 3rd floor that is great for teenagers with access from one of the master suites. We had a fabulous time!!

Beautiful home, lots of stairs.
Beautiful Home right on the beach, needs some fixing. Bathtub in main Bdrm did not work, afraid to touch small grill for fear of it falling over and large grill doesn’t look likes it has ever been cleaned. Unable to grill our steaks. Not all the Bdrms have TV’S. Refrigerator did not work properly, had to move items to owners refrigerator. Owner did compensate for Inconveniences.

Awesome views!
This was a lovely, spacious home! The beds were comfortable. There were great views of the beach/ocean from just about every room. It was nicely decorated and well stocked. The home stayed cool at night. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves. That being said, we were a little disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and foyer area as you come in the front door, it smelled musty and moldy. We had issues with roaches in the kitchen and foyer, ( dead and alive) And the lower level floors and windows needed cleaning. There were also places throughout the home
( inside and out) that needed some attention (due to rusting and wear and tear) such as painting, broken locks, repairs etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and our experience was good. Nothing really worth complaining to management about nor was it anything they could’ve changed while we were staying there.

Beautiful Memories!
Property was as advertised, and we very much enjoyed our stay at the beautiful home. Just a couple notes: 1) We didn’t get to enjoy and hang out on the deck as much because the outdoor furniture cushions had a smell to them, 2) There was no full length mirror anywhere in the house. For a bunch of ladies who wanted to take nice pictures, this was a true miss.

Beautiful & well kept home
We had a great time and the large home worked well for our big group of 13. Kitchen is GREAT, but we needed a broom & dustpan. Only 2 other suggestions - provide more towels initially and change the description of the grill (it’s gas’s not charcoal) and we came prepared to grill with charcoal. As it is, renters have to buy a tank of propane which feels wasteful because we only used 2 times. We didn’t get the skim boards we ordered and after 3 calls to the property mgmt firm, I just cancelled them and requested a refund. Home is so beautiful!
