UP-Scale Loft is a two-bedroom loft in the heart of downtown Munising, Michigan - Upper Peninsula. This 2nd-floor loft apartment is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, pubs and breweries, coffee shops, and many area highlights, including Pictured Rocks Cruises and Munising Bay. Local host provides a quiet, clean, and classy space with all the amenities for a quality stay. The loft is a short distance from beaches, waterfalls, trails, and the adventures of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Hiawatha National Forest.

UP Scale Loft offers ample space for relaxing or working. Our bright, modern, and well-supplied kitchen - complete with breakfast nook- opens into a large living and dining room overlooking Main Street. High-speed internet and flat-screen Roku TV offer access to all your favorite personal streaming services or a stress-free work-cation. We furnish large bedrooms with brand-new mattresses and high-quality bedding. The bathroom features a tiled tub/shower combination, plush towels, hand towels, and washcloths. A hairdryer, ironing board, and iron are also provided.

Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find Lake Superior, parks, outdoor stores, retail shopping, restaurants, grocery, breweries, pubs, coffee shops, banking, Rx, post office, churches, hardware stores, and tennis courts. Munising’s own Great Lakes Artist Co-Op, UP-Scale Art, is located on the first floor of your rental, offering a variety of unique and local art for a perfect souvenir. Enjoy a piece in Munising's Mural Walk displaying artists' creative depiction of Munising's history right out your bedroom window. Take a short drive to nearby beaches, waterfalls, and hiking/biking/ski trails or Marquette, MI, the largest city in the UP less than a beautiful 1-hour drive along Lake Superior's shore.

Two off-street parking spots are assigned to each UP-Scale Loft, the best & only way to get reserved downtown parking for your entire stay!

Our second, 2-bedroom loft is located directly across the hall and can now additionally be booked for larger parties! Each unit has two rooms, one bath, and their own entrance.

Primarily this property is best for adults or older children. This property is not equipped for small children, is on a busy street without outside spaces for children to play, & is located directly above full-time residents that co-occupy the building. Children are welcome at your discretion. Please be respectful & bring their own sleeping & eating necessities.

**This is an old building with original hardwood floors in the middle of downtown. With that brings squeaky floors and the bustle of other downtown businesses i.e. nightlife and morning deliveries**

Friend and I stayed at this sweet spot and our only regret was not having an extra day or two (we had a total of 2 days to explore pictured rocks). The area is great, many restaurants in walking distance. Pictured rocks cruises in walking distance! A beach with a pavilion to watch the sun rise, and had bands playing in the evening. Across the street is a beautiful coffee shop with great coffee, but the property provides a small bag of coffee also (from their own coffee shop across the park!) I just loved everything about this area. Everyone is so kind and sweet. I’d love to come back! And the property was so comfortable and cozy. With plenty of brochures to read, a guest book with excellent suggestions, and gorgeous art work of the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Upscale Loft in Munising. The condo was comfortably furnished with beautiful art. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was updated. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen as well. The loft is within walking distance of restaurants, tourist attractions, shops etc. We really appreciated the info from the owner on places to eat, visit etc. The off street parking was nice as well. I highly recommend this lovely loft in downtown Munising. It’s spacious, clean and well appointed. We will stay there again in the future.

This was our second stay at the Luxury Loft. It was even better than we remembered. It is spacious and comfortable. The attention to detail (window coverings, artwork, and furniture choices) gives it a warm and inviting feel. Everything is high end quality and well stocked. Especially love the soft closed drawers and doors in the kitchen. The location is spectacular in downtown Munising and communication with Libby is outstanding. We would highly recommend staying here.

Libby's place was such a perfect place for us for after our hike of the pictured rocks section of the North Country Trail. It was very cozy and had all the things that we could've needed for our stay. Munising is a lovely small town and the apartment was easy walking distance to many places in town. This is the second time we have stayed at the Upscale Loft for our August UP trip, and it was amazing. The location is amazing, and you can walk anywhere in town. Gallery Coffee is right across the street and a fantastic way to start your day! There is also a coffeemaker in the loft with a sampling of coffee from the Dream Bean Machine in Grand Marais. The loft is very comfortable and exceptionally clean! There are many things to do in and around Munising, but day trips to the west to Marquette or to the east to Grand Marais are less than an hour of drive time each way. Overall, this is a great plasce to stay and we hope to return next year!

We were delighted to meet the renter who keeps the garden to the side of the building. It was lovely. Was here for work and then stayed an extra day. Unfortunately the weather was very hot and humid-- not typical for the UP but we used the fans and got through it. Air conditioning would be a definite plus. One evening, when we returned to our room it was 80 degrees. Tried to pull in outside air to cool it off so by midnight it was better. Still not very good sleeping weather.

What a great place to stay! I cannot emphasize enough how clean everything was! The beds were comfortable which was a great plus after hiking all day. There were games to play which our family enjoyed in the evening. It was so convenient to be right in town within walking distance of everything! We would definitely stay here again! Libby, the property host, was wonderful. She took time to give recommendations and suggestions on things to do and places to eat and she was very responsive to any questions. The loft was surprisingly spacious and very up to date and spotlessly clean. The decor had a welcoming vibe and the furnishings were both beautiful and comfortable. But the very best part about the loft is the location! Many good restaurants and shops within a short stroll, including drugstore, grocery, and coffee shop. And it’s a two block walk to the Pictured Rocks Cruises dock! Several waterfalls and nice hiking trails are just a short drive away. If we visit Munising in the future, we would love to stay here again!

The loft apartment has been recently renovated/undated. Upscale, cozy and roomy. Only downside was that the bedrooms had no dressers or table height furniture for setting up travel items. There was next to no room in the bathroom for toiletries so a spot in the bedrooms would have been helpful. Living out of a suitcase for two nights was one thing. If I would have been staying longer the rating would have been lowered.

One of the nicest VRBO rentals that we've stayed in. A great location, with everything in walking distance. Libby provided lots of great and useful information before we arrived, including location of grocery stores, dining options, and how to print a pass for parking in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore park. Super helpful for us since we weren't familiar with the area. The property was well stocked with everything of nice quality - towels, dishes, etc. I would highly recommend this rental!

Great and comfortable place for 3 adults to home base out of while exploring Pictured Rocks National Seashore. Everything in Munising we needed was in easy walking distance, including a grocery store on same block. In June, we opened windows and enjoyed the cross breeze, and enjoyed a background of live blues coming from the coffee shop around the corner. WiFi speeds kept 3 users streaming and in touch with work/family back home as we chose to be. Easy check in/ check out and Libby responded promptly when we had a question. Would definitely stay here again!

After hiking pictured rocks, enjoying a local brewery, we were so happy to make dinner, relax on the couch, take a hot shower/bath and sleep in comfy beds. I booked this VRBO for family visiting the area and it was perfect!! A beautiful, spacious loft in downtown Munising, within walking distance to restaurants, micro breweries and shops. Two nice size bedrooms, full size kitchen and living area. The decor throughout is beautiful! It has everything you possibly need and is super cozy! Everyone enjoyed their stay!! What a great place! So cute. Right in town. So close to everything. You can walk to all the shops, the bay, or grab a pint at a local microbrewery. Or you can be adventurous and hit up one of the many trail systems for hiking, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing. Very clean & spacious. I highly recommmed this place.
