Glacier National Park is a must see. And to choose your home base, look no further. Easy access to all of the beautiful scenery on the west side of the park and conveniently located close to going to the sun road to connect you to the east side of the park. And Lake McDonald is right out your door! Puls you get all the fun shops and restaurants of Apgar when you aren’t exploring. Cabin is nicely appointed and has everything you need. Don’t pass it up!

If you are thinking about visiting Glacier National Park this is the place to stay, don’t delay in booking. The kayaks, standup paddle boards and the e-bikes oh what fun. It was also the little things backpacks, hiking poles, bearspray, bug spray, and sunscreen. We traveled from the East Coast and did not have to think about any of those things. What a treat to come back from a long day of hiking to all the comforts of home, the kitchen was stocked with everything you’ll need and the cabin is so clean and comfortable. All of Dons suggestions about the area and things to do was a bonus. He was an amazing host and communication was top-notch. It’s a great location and we will be back.

Wow! We had a fabulous time in the park and took advantage of all the amenities at cabin. It couldn’t be better situated to enjoy all Wst Glacier has to offer. The Road to the Sun should not be missed. The cabin s perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring.

This cabin is perfect inside. Wonderfully decorated and very clean. The screened in porch is lovely to enjoy the outdoors bug-free. It is in very central location. Close to everything, and loaded with amenities. We enjoyed the kayaks, only a few mins walk to the lake. The bikes were great too as the bike path is right out front the cabin. We loved the animal information session put on by park service right across the street at the nature center. So much to do in this location. There is a gift shop, restaurant and ice cream shop only 2 doors down. The only down side, is the location is very busy because of all there is to do there. During our stay the restaurant was building a 2 story addition and construction noises were heard from 630am to 530pm, which was challenging for us to relax. If you're looking for a place to be very busy and have everything at your fingertips, this is an ideal place. If you're looking for a secluded place for peace and quiet, it may not be a great fit.

Great cabin with ability to use house ebikes and canoes. Central location in Apgar but quiet. Great place to rest in between hikes, activities and exploring the area.

Spectacular cabin! Better than we expected. Very well stocked, the kitchen was full of everything you could need! We loved sitting on the screened porch, making s’mores around the fire pit after a steak dinner on the grill. The distance to Lake McDonals was beyond convenient. Communication couldn’t have been better and the cabin was so clean! If you want to be in the park this is where you want to be!

Perfect location - thoughtful amenities
We stayed with our two grown kids for a week and this was a perfect home base to hike throughout the park. Crossed the road to walk along the McDonald Creek to the lake every day before heading out to trailhead - easy to access all trails because we were already in the park. Crystal and Chuck provided everything we needed for hiking - backpacks, walking sticks, bear spray, first aid kits .... and a well-stocked kitchen to cook up dinner when we returned hungry and tired at the end of the day. We would definitely recommend Bear Tree and would certainly choose to stay here again.

Family Fest 2021
Sisters from west, south, and east met for a week in Glacier and found this wonderful cottage owned by Crystal and Chuck. It was feet from Lake McDonald and we made sure to put the SUPs and kayaks to good use daily. The cottage was very well stocked with spices and condiments and paper goods. We just brought real food. We ate breakfast there daily, made sandwiches for a lunch hiking stop, and always had dinner from the propane grill. The firepit was lit and surrounded by the 6 of us every night. The hosts could not have been more hospitalable and we could not have had a better time together.

Wonderful stay!
Multigenerational family of 5 had a great vacation to GNP! Crystal was super responsive and Bear Glacier had everything we needed. She even bought a pack n play for my son to have a safe sleeping space. We were centrally located to everything in West Glacier and within steps of Lake McDonald. Definitely recommend!

Amazing Lake McDonald cabin
This rental lived up to all the hype, it is in a simply perfect location and this cabin had everything you could need and more to enjoy the Lake and the western side of the park. The ability to use bikes, paddleboards and kayaks as well as all the hiking gear was a huge plus. We had a great stay for 3 nights exploring the great hikes of the Western half of Going to the Sun Road from here. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful GNP experience!
This rustic home is nestled in Apgar Village within Glacier National Park! The Bear Tree cabin was comfortable, clean, and quiet. We were within walking distance of the gift shops and restaurant. The bed was comfortable, in which I slept all night! There were three of us staying here and we had no problem with hot water. The bathroom was equipped with shampoo and conditioner. There is also a washer and dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets. The kitchen was well equipped with EVERYTHING; coffee, spices, cooking oil, just to name a few. The wifi worked wonderfully. I was able to text the owner and she answered any questions very quickly, she even sent me pictures of what I should be looking for. There are kayaks, paddleboards, fishing poles, a fire pit, and backpacks equipped with bear spray, this goes above and beyond anything I could have imagined. Lake McDonald was within walking distance. The drive on Going-to-the-Sun road was beautiful and exhilarating, have your cameras ready!

Lucky Home Right in GNP
This is such a cute little lake home right in the thick of things on the west side of Glacier! So cool to have a house inside a National park! The outdoor netting around the deck was AMAZING! You can sit outside well into the evening with no bugs bothering you. We loved it! It’s a cozy space with just the right amount of decor. We didn’t need to borrow any of the outdoor toys but they looked in great condition. We fished/swam in the river behind house. It was clear and refreshing. We played at the picnic area near Apgar campground 5 minutes down road b/c it was less crowded than in town (there are also awesome swim beaches along Going to Sun road…maybe 10 minutes away). WiFi worked well. Kitchen seemed good (although we ate at Eddies Cafe 100 yards away for any meals). TV worked great for the one evening when we needed down time. Neighbors and store staff seemed all very friendly. Parking was so easy and convenient. We wish we owned a house in Glacier! So lucky!

Simply Perfect
This cabin is truly perfect! This was a new destination, so I really put the time into location. This exceeded all expectations! First let me say how helpful the owner was. Available for questions and provided a lot of great info. Next the cabin is clean and literally has everything you need. I have rented many places and this one by far was stocked with anything you could think of and clean! Finally location when traveling is everyone! Never did I expect to have the views I did just steps away! People drive hours just to come to Apgar Village, and we were literally in it! Cute shops, Ice cream, the lake and Eddies for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Being in the park also avoided the line to get in to Going to the Sun Road. The kayaks and paddle boards were an added bonus! I could go on and on. For someone who has traveled the world this was by far one of the best locations and rental I have ever had! Sometimes you get what what you pay for and this was worth every last penny! Don’t hesitate on this one! We will be back!

This property rocks!!!! It’s the perfect location and every amenity (kayaks, bikes, fire pit, backpacks and bear spray) are top quality. We’ve rented in many locations and this is the best! Perfect venue in the most awesome park!! Plus Eddies ice cream!!!! We spent the days exploring Glacier and the evenings talking about our day at the fire pit. We couldn’t figure out how to not leave!!

Property better than expected. Cell reception made it a little hard to get the door code, but after that was squared away everything was perfect. They had so much more there available than we expected!
