The property was perfect for our needs. Very close to hiking areas and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our large family. Cabins were mostly adequately stocked and clean. WiFi was a little spotty and the oven in the barn set off the smoke detector while preheating, so we opted to use the oven on the Gathering cabin instead. The hosts were very attentive and accessible, especially since this was my first time booking with VRBO and I had to change the dates due to a medical emergency. Check-in was a breeze and check-out instructions were clear. Mittens the outdoor cat was super friendly and entertaining. Overall, it was a wonderful family getaway. Thank you!

Every year my 3 sisters and our families get together -- 13 adults. Our stay at Rock House Cabins was wonderful. Each family had their own cabin to sleep in and escape to when they wanted. The Gathering cabin gave us the perfect place to hang out together for coffee, meals, games and movies. All cabins have their own refrigerators and we coordinated meals in the Gathering cabin and on the outdoor grill. The kitchen was very well equipped. The covered porch was a favorite spot to hang and we enjoyed the fire pit on a few evenings. Being in such close proximity to the scenic hiking trails was another bonus. Any questions we did have during our stay were quickly addressed by Amy and Micheal. Overall a great experience!

Friend group stayed there for a weekend away from the bustling city. Nice land and enough space for everyone to hang out together or in their own groups if they chose.
Would recommend for anyone with large groups needing a weekend away in the quiet woods.

Where do I start? How about the yummy welcome package and the fun items for the kids, what a great opening! We enjoyed the friendly outdoor kitty, she is so pleasant. Our cabins were well supplied with cooking items, bakeware, utensils, and Keurig's and filter coffee makers in each cabin. If you lack something in one cabin, you can borrow from another, we were very careful to put things back where they belonged. Kids LOVED the play loft and indoor slide and the pirate ship with swing on the outside. Short distances between gathering cabin and other cabins, a pleasant surprise. Privacy was no problem. The ambiance there is wonderful, hiking, hot tub, cable and wifi, pool table and darts, and the cutest decor in every cabin. Plenty of things to do in a 20 mile or less radius, rented a pontoon, horseback riding, canoeing, petting zoos, butterfly farm, great trails…we did them all. We combined grocery runs with our excursions and it worked well. It doesnt have to be busy, you can sit on the wrap around porch in the chairs and glider, and watch the birds coming to the various feeders, butterflies on the butterfly bush, just enjoy nature. Very accommodating hosts! Thank you for the opportunity to visit your cabins.

This property is perfect for a larger group that wants time together and needs time apart!

The main cabin is 5 stars. The additional other cabins are very simple which I think is appropriately advertised and mentioned in other reviews. The only downside of 2-3 of the other cabins is that they are heated using only space heaters. I cannot recall if 2 or 3 of them have space heaters but it was very cold and took us a little by surprise. I do see that they close the other 4 down Jan-Feb. Luckily temps didn’t get too cold for our Christmas get together but again the cabins with space heaters were a little cold for
some including my 1 year old cousin. Other than that the stay was great. The property has so much charm and the owners are kind. Would stay again.

Every 2 years we find a place to stay for our 3 sons and their families during Thanksgiving weekend. Hocking Hills has been our go-to place 3 times because it is a 6-5 hour trip for all of us. Rock House Cabins had everything we needed. The property was set up for the ages of our grandchildren (hot tub, tree house, pool table, and large screen Tv-s for gaming, and even a very friendly cat!) Aimee and Michael Fitch were a delight to work with. We did find a filthy fry pan that had not been cleaned, and there could have been more silverware in the main cabin.

This property and 5 cabins is awesome for a group of friends or family. The Gathering Place cabin gave us a place to all gather and eat together with still giving the few people staying there their privacy. The other 4 cabins were just what was needed to give everyone else their space. They were very clean, had all the necessities and comfortable. All the cabins were closer in proximity to each other then I thought which was a positive.
The location was also perfect to go out and see the Hocking Hills area. We were able to go walk a trail and go back to the cabins for lunch and then go back out. We walked multiple trails, visited a brewery and cider house and zip lined.
Overall, a perfect weekend and these cabins had a lot to do with it.
Thanks Michael and Aimee!

Wanted a weekend get away with some guys and was very happy. Loved the idea of separate cabins to separate IF you wanted to get away. Mittens the outside cat was a pleasant surprise when we got there and was a quick celebrity by the end of the weekend. We will be back.

We had a great stay and experience at the Rock House cabins! We had 5 families with lots of littles under 10 and was the perfect spot for us to ring in the New Year. Clean property in all cabins and plenty of space for each family to spread out and explore outside. Kids absolutely loved the tree house area upstairs in main cabin to play and could not get enough of the slide! We only had one small issue with no warm water the first night and the owner was fantastic and came right over to quickly fix for us and was fine rest of the weekend. Highly recommend!

This place was amazing! We were here for a family and friends board game weekend. The kitchen and long table were perfect! The kids loft area was amazing and toddler approved. Having the separate cabins to retreat to for sleeping was great and everyone loved the decor! The only thing I would mention is if you are bringing toddlers we had to bungee cord some cardboard around the playroom railing as the spindles were just a bit too far apart for comfort. Minor adjustment and then it was perfect! Mittens was a big hit and the sweetest outdoor property manager. Also I’m sure he’s the reason the cabins had zero pests. We will definitely be back - this place was perfect!

Really enjoyed our stay at The Rock House Cabins. Nice location (close to hiking), plenty of space for guests to have privacy in individual cabins, but also to spend time together at the main cabin, which has a fabulous front porch space! Listing description wasn't completely clear (3rd bedroom in main cabin- king bed w/ twin bunk- is in open basement space next to pool table, rather than a separate room, and one of the beds in the Bear cabin is in the kitchen), but both spaces were ultimately fine, just not as expected. Owners were quick with communication and helpful when assistance was needed. Outdoor cabin cat, Mittens, was a welcome surprise. Would definitely recommend this location and looking forward to a return stay.

We filled all 5 cabins with family members from age 65 to 9 months. Everyone had a great time. The under 6 year crowd loved the indoor slide. The adults enjoyed the large fire pit, charcoal grill and hot tub. Our family tries to do a weekend cabin trip every year in October. Typically we are each in 1-2 bedroom cabins. The setup for this listing is nicer since we had one large cabin to cook and setup breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were lucky to have great weather, but if we did not, there would have been room in the large cabin for us to hang out inside. The location is great, right by the park. Also, the owners responded to all my questions quickly.

We had 12 people ranging from 3- grandma and we all had a blast! The gathering cabin is amazing, the kids all loved the upstairs play loft/ slide and the downstairs game room. There was plenty of space for everyone to sit and eat and also to relax. The outdoor space was great as well.. covered porches, hot tub, fire pit with lots of chairs. We used all 5 cabins and it was great for everyone to have their own place. I will say, we were surprised to see there is a outdoor cat that has his spot on the deck. Mittens is very friendly, and handled the kids picking him up very well. We didn't mind, but maybe some people wouldn't love the idea of him being there.
Great location, about 20 min from most of the trails and town. We would absolutely stay again if we had a bigger group going again. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room. Thanks for a great stay!

Rock house cabins was an amazing place with a large central cabin and space for gathering. It struck just the right balance with some separate cabins to afford people privacy while having plenty communal space. It’s conveniently located, within walking distance of Rock House, has plenty of amenities and nice barbecue and fire pit. There is also a covered space on the main cabin which proved great for the one day we had some scattered showers. The hosts responded to an inquiry around one minor issue in one of the cabins very quickly and everything was resolved. We will definitely be looking to come back if we can get a large enough group again in the future!

Had a great time. Some of the room descriptions were changed but we had a few less people than originally planned so it was fine. Would stay again.

This is a really nice location and the flow of the cabins, with one big gathering place, was perfect for our group of 13 adults and a couple kids. There is a large covered outdoor desk area that isn't clearly shown in the pictures, but is really nice in case of rain. We had trouble finding towels, hand soap, toilet paper, trash bags, there was only one pod for the dish washer (not quite enough for a large party of over a couple days), and paper towels though. Also the pool table had no rack for the balls and wasn't useable.
This would have been perfectly fine if we knew that we had to bring our own supplies but we didn't. It was fairly easily resolved by hunting though all the cabins to supply the ones that ran out and a trip to the store, but the trash bags, for example, were a little problematic as we scrambled to check out and had no time to run to the store again. So, this is a great place and totally worth the stay but bring your own supplies! All of them!!
