Great retreat

The decor was very nice. Bathroom was very nice, although quite small understandably. Amazing quantity of towels, toiletries, etc.

No mat in the bath to avoid slipping. No proper oven. When toilet in adjacent unit was flushed, it was very noisy in Badgers Rest for several minutes. No shelf at the bed to set phones on, no light that can be switched off without getting out of bed.

Good location. Well planned, compact accommodation.

Compact but with everything we needed in the kitchen, sitting area, bathroom. Parking right outside the accommodation. Quietly located at the back of the owners property. Owners friendly but not intrusive.

The electronic gate access. Reversing in/out of the drive and getting the gate to close before a car came down the road was a challenge. No bedside light and the light switch on the wall opposite the bed meant fumbling around in the dark to get to bed.

Badger’s Retreat was an ideal sanctuary throughout my stay, and I hope to return some day.

I spent 8 nights at Badger’s Retreat in April. Loved my stay. As others have said, the cottage is spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated. Sharon’s thoughtful attention to detail, was reflected throughout the cottage.

Perfect cosy place with everything you need. Bed and sofa were soo comfortable and the bath was amazing.

Exceptional

most perfect stay! badgers retreat was so comfortable. one of the best accommodations we have been to. cooking facilities were great, bed comfortable, the annexe retained heat very well and bathroom had a great shower and bath. the hosts provided cleaning products, shower products, towels etc. felt like a home from home!

For the price it was an incredibly nice and cosy annex guest house that was fully equiped with all you could need!

Can't really fault much except that we were unable to use the ps4 and there was no way to lock the bathroom door but those were the only two minor issues I can think of from what was otherwise exceptional

Superb

As in previous reviews, it's convenient, small, but has most things, and good value. The canal is great for flat walks. Knowing that it was called Badger's Retreat in the address would have made finding it initially easier.

We were surprised that a flat in Yorkshire didn't have a teapot - or we couldn't find it. The kitchen cabinet door handles are awful!

Superb

Lovely setting.Quiet set back from the road .Pretty plants on the terrace area.Field with horses opposite. Very cosy accommation .Very well equipped and high quality appliances. Comfy bed and modern tasteful bathroom. Very helpful hosts who were there to help with queries.

perfectly located for our needs. right beside a beautiful canal and marina. walk to the local pub. the property itself was well equipped with all you would need. clean and cosy

Quiet, pleasant surroundings near the canal, very comfortable bed and very clean. Secure car parking space.

No internal doors to bathroom or bedroom. Kitchen units difficult to open if any problems with hands e.g. arthritis.

Ticked every box and more...

Location was brilliant. The little cottage ticked all our boxes and more...

No door on the toilet...I appreciate room is tight but maybe a folding door !

Excellent guest house with great facilities.

TV, bed was comfortable.shower excellent

Bed was too lowdown. Couch had to be moved so it was Infront of the TV. I found it difficult to get comfortable and in the end I ended up bringing in a camp chair to sit on.
