Less than a block from the Cape Charles beach, “Sea Gate” is a 5 bedroom, 7 bathroom (4 full & 3 1/2) spacious home that sleeps 12. Guests can enjoy the salt breezes while lounging on the home’s beautiful front porch in comfy rockers or enjoy the side patio while having lunch at the picnic table.
When stepping into “Sea Gate,” you will be greeted by both the ambiance of historic Cape Charles and by an architecturally-unique home, beautifully decorated, furnished and equipped as a comfortable modern home.
About the first floor: Entrance into the home is into a large foyer with a grand piano. Off the foyer to the left is the living room which is well-furnished and includes comfortable, theater-style seating (built-in recliners). A living room door opens to a light-filled, glassed-in Florida room, with a spiral staircase leading to an upper-level sun porch/sitting room. Just off the living room is a powder room and the well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast nook and a desk. The kitchen was remodeled in 2021 with new appliances! Off the foyer to the right is a beautiful dining room with a dining room table which accommodates eight. The dining room opens to another lovely glassed-in porch with tables accommodating ten.
About the second floor: The second floor has four bedrooms furnished with Queen beds, TVs and desks. Two of these bedrooms have their own full bath with a shower. The other two bedrooms have a half bath and access to a hallway full bath with a bathtub/shower.
About the third floor: The third floor has a large children’s room (and game room). This space is fully equipped with many games and game tables, including arcade games & a foosball table. It’s highly entertaining & will keep the kids busy while the parents relax! This room includes alcoves, a sofa, beds that will sleep four, and a full bathroom with a shower.

Let me preface this by saying we had a great time at Sea Gate. The house is quirky and charming in old house fashion, BUT it is not large family friendly. Our group of 8 found only one spot where we all could gather -- around the dining room table. Also, need to change promotional pix: Sleep couch not there, and much of the furniture is different. A few changes -- get rid of unusable grand piano and organ and replace with comfy chairs!

We loved our stay here! Location was perfect, super close to beach as well as shops on the main street. We appreciated all the beautiful furnishings, and the well-appointed kitchen that had everything you could possibly need. We also loved the enclosed backyard for our dog and all the little nooks and crannies where people could hang out.

The house was perfect, even better than what was shown online. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook anything! Kids loved their attic getaway from the adults in the house! We had our pets with us and the fenced backyard was perfect! A quick walk to beach and town all added up to a great family vacation! Thank you so much!!!

Property had a great location and was clean. We loved the proximity to the beach, the kids loved the third floor. Queen beds on second floor could use better mattresses and or bed frames as they were wobbly and not real comfortable. Shower heads were a bit low for the adults. We enjoyed our stay though and would come back to this house again.

This is such an amazing home! So many charming rooms, and so much space for a group of adults to stay together, while also having plenty of space to themselves. It is short, delightful walk to the beach and also to the main street, which is filled with delightful shops. The host is a great communicator. This will likely become an annual outing for us.

The house is an older Victorian (c 1912), and it was an absolute delight to stay there and explore the house. There are tons of rooms and spaces, multiple indoor and outdoorporches to sit, talk, read, and relax. The house was exceptionally well stocked with more beach chairs and accessories than we could possibly need, any cooking gadget and spice you could think of, movies, games, books, etc. There were 2 refridgerators, with more than enough space for us. Neighborhood is perfect - many similar 100+ year old Victorians, which were all gorgeous and well maintained. Location was likewise perfect - literally one block to the beach. We were also a 1 minute walk to Mason Street, which has a multitude of fantastic little shops, restaurants, galleries, bakeries, etc. We couldn't have been happier with the house and would definitely come back in the future

The house was exceptionally well stocked with more beach chairs and accessories than we could possibly need, any cooking gadget and spice you could think of, movies, games, books, etc. There were 2 refridgerators, with more than enough space for us. Second year in a row renting this place and couldn’t be happier. More than enough room for our group of 6 adults and two children. Fantastic location within walking distance from everything.

Great Escape at Sea Gate
Sea Gate provided the perfect backdrop for a fun weekend with old friends celebrating a birthday. Property is conveniently located one block to the beach. It's obvious that this home is well-loved as it is outfitted with anything you could possibly imagine that you might need. It was once a bed and breakfast and is well furnished with lots of eclectic goodies, books, games, you name it, to dig into. The back yard is also fenced which is excellent. Other perks - two refrigerators, a great front porch, lots of places to hang out, cornhole, foosball and a stand up arcade on the top floor. We barely saw the kids. The property manager, Doug, is super friendly and responsive. We hope to make our visit a tradition. We'll see. Now don't steal our weekend, folks!

Perfect Family Vacation
We had the best time in this house. It was so close to the beach. They had beach chairs, towels and a cart to bring all of our stuff with us. It was so helpful. There was plenty of room for all 4 families and 4 kids under 6. We are already talking about when we will book again for next year. We had a great time! The property manager was also very quick to answer all my questions and let us check in early because the house was already clean and ready for us. It was so nice!

We had the best time! It was a little difficult to talk ourselves into leaving the front porch to go do anything because the porch was so awesome. Having the beach only a block away was very convenient. When our coffee maker broke, they had a working one there for us so quickly! Can’t wait to come back.
