I usually have a great experience at all the VRBO's we stay. This one was only good because the owner was good at communication. But the place had the following issues:
1.) The shower water did not drain.
2.) We had to kill a few cockroaches.
3.) The sofa bed did not work.
4.) There is 1 A/C unit and its so loud by the bed.
Overall, I would not stay here again.

Our host was so prompt with responding to us even after we left and thought we'd left an item in the rental. The place was so clean and it made our already wonderful stay even more so!

The apartment was very cozy and comfortable with a lovely balcony and beautiful views, and near a beautiful park!

Property tired, as I am; older and used and satisfactory. We had an enjoyable stay, walking distance to restaurants, beach, even downtown!
Unit was stocked with bath’nkitchen essentials; lovely lanai overlooking banyon trees and even Wailoa river. Mostly quiet, good experience.

The place is closed to Hilo airport, farmer market and several mins from Target. Quiet and peaceful community environment. The host Yan Ming is responsive and helpful on answering questions. Easy check-in and out process. Would love to stay here again in next visiting in Big Island.

Host provided excellent support in informing the latest about the property and Hilo, which made comfortable stay.
The parking is accessed from Mililani Street, not from Hualani Street.

The location made you feel like you're in the middle of the jungle. Easy to get to all of the attractions in Hilo. This property is only good for max 2 couples. It says 2 bedrooms but only one is usable. The AC unit is located in the smaller room with a single bed. In order to cool the condo, this door needs to remain open. Used it for a luggage storage room and slept on the sofa bed. Other than that everything was tip top.

pretty, welcoming apartment. well located. we have adored.

All went well. Only suggestion is air-conditioning only in one of the bedrooms. No air-conditioning in the living room, second bedroom, bathroom. I believe the listing says a/c but should specify. Owner was friendly and very nice.

This condo is small on space, but the owner has it stocked with items for your stay. The building and complex is older which goes with most of Hilo. The unit itself has been updated and is full of kitchen and bath supplies, along with great wifi and plenty of plugs to support all your technology.
Be aware that the bedrooms are small making luggage placement a bit more challenging.
Overall, we were very happy with the stay, ease of access, and visiting some of the local restaurants. We especially enjoyed sunrise at the Japanese Gardens and the nearby Botanical Gardens.

This place was perfect for myself and my daughter. I was here to move her home from UH Hilo. Great location. Close to food and coffee. Owner had all the basics in the condo so we didn’t have to run to the store. Toilet paper, tissues, paper towels. The pool here is nice and quiet too. I had a swim in the morning then my coffee on the patio looking at the beautiful tree out back. I would recommend this place

Very well stocked kitchen and bathroom area. The specific building was hard to find, GPS takes you to the front lot, which is not the entry point for the specific building, the directions were not specific enough. We drove around trying to find the parking lot and ended up in some sketchy areas. The property looks old and outdated, add at least a decade to the VRBO exterior image. Plenty parking, but I felt unsafe going to the parking lot by myself. A lot of warning signs around the property about "private", but no gates around the property to provide secure entry. The interior is too small for 2 adults and 3 kids, especially if you had luggage, we had to constantly step over our luggage to walk within and exit the unit. Lack of privacy: the first floor lanai faced a quite street with bikes & cars passing, and the bedroom windows could be easily seen from the apartment walkway (frequent foot traffic), thus we did not feel comfortable opening the curtains due to lack of privacy. Bathroom was nice. Although we will look for 2 baths in the future, it took too much time for everyone taking turns showering in the morning & after swimming, it took time away from other activities. Our first night, after midnight, it sounded like someone was either upstairs or in the hallway banging a bowling ball on the floor, repeatedly. Overall, this place provided a private space to sleep and eat. Thanks to the host for being responsive to our questions.

Condo was a great size for 2 adults. Nice size TV with Netflix! A comfy couch, firm bed and very clean. The community was a bit run down and the pool was not equipped with lounge chairs. A couple of restaurants in walking distance, so we had to use our car most of the time. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. Chickens, roosters and small pigs roamed the grounds right outside the patio. Overall, a nice place to stay to explore the east side of the Island.

Nice cute little condo close to downtown and parks. The exterior of the complex is a little dated but the condo itself is nice and quite.

Great location to visit Volcano National Park

Location is facing Wailoa River State Recreation Area with short walk to park and across great bridges of the Wailoa River. Within walking distance of many great restaurants; Hawaiian Style Cafe, Ola Brew, Kamana Kitchen, et cetera. Enjoyed location being more kama'aina than resort style. Pool and laundry were both very convenient.

This property is centrally located with old town just over a mile away, the airport under 4 miles away, Walmart and Safeway just over a mile, a beautiful park next to the condos, and one mile from Hilo Bay.

Everything worked and the pool was good. Good communications with property manager. Small restaurant/bar a few hundred feet from the property. Large parks also a few hundred feet away.

Conveniently located, fully equipped apartment. Bedrooms are very tiny, but serves its purpose. Single bedroom includes an AC unit, suggest adding AC units to the queen bedroom and living room. Although we were only 2 people staying for 2 nights, access to additional towels would be nice, we were only provided 2 sets. We had a bit of a chicken problem on our lanai, called maintenance for assistance with no luck. Called several times, texted and left messages with no answer or return call. We were able to handle the problem ourselves. Overall, enjoyed our time here and would consider staying here again.

Great location, quick communication
We loved this central location in Hilo close to everything. Having Wailoa Ponds in your backyard made it easy for daily walks and runs. Everything else you need is only a quick drive or walk away. The host always responded promptly when help was needed. Great stay overall!

Great vacation retreat. The small apartment had everything we needed to be comfortable - how interesting that the dehumidifiers work so efficiently! And we appreciated the lovely park and the health food market both being within short walking distance. Besides the a.m. rooster, the Villa village was mostly peaceful and quiet. Tasteful decor.

Cozy Small Condo
The condo is in a Great Location to downtown and all local Hilo activities. The big bonus is that you can walk to Ola Brewery. A must visit brewery. Condo has everything you need to spend a weeks vacation and eat some meals in. Used the beach chairs and the pool that is close to the room. The only downside to the condo was the size of the rooms. They are both small rooms with no closets and one room doesn't have a window. Small issue nut overall a nice place to stay.

Waiakea Villas Condo
The owner was great to work with and responded quickly to our questions. The unit is "cozy," as advertised, but the owner utilizes the space quite well. The bathroom and kitchen area are updated, and we had almost everything we needed during our stay. The lanai also is a nice area, although it was noisy outside at times, and the laundry facilities were clean and in working order. Without AC, ceiling fans in the bedrooms would be welcome additions. Our only other suggestion would be to replace the couch with something more comfortable. Otherwise, the owner has done a good job with limited space in an older complex. The unit is conveniently located within a short drive of stores, restaurants, the bay front, and the airport.
