About this house rental
Summary:
The Captain’s Quarters and all its offerings are waiting for you! This perfect Brookings getaway has it all. Only a short distance from the water, it is located across from the Port of Brookings Harbor and has all the vacation essentials needed for you and five other guests you want to treat! New memories await!
Many dining options are a five-or-less-minute walk with beach access at the South Jetty across Hwy 101(the main street) in this area.
The Space:
The open concept main living area allows all visitors to rest, read, and relax before, between, and after each day’s challenge. You will be able to play games, do puzzles, or just talk. The flatscreen HDTV will let you catch up on what you have been missing or can’t imagine missing. The covered patio even has a hot tub! Many have grabbed a bottle of their favorite drink of choice to take to the patio to let-go-and-rest! There is a camera on the front door.
WiFi keeps you connected with friends and associates back home when and if it becomes necessary to brag about your location and what you are doing. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, and coffeemaker. Nothing like cooking crab from the hurricane burner or making something special or fast in the fully furnished kitchen.
As you return from a day of frolic and play and the day slides into night, this one-bedroom, one-bathroom retreat can host six vacationers. A comfortable queen-size bed adorns the bedroom for a restful night's sleep. Other guests will find a queen-size Murphy bed and one comfy sofa bed in the main living area.
Foxy's Restaurant & Oceanside diner for earlier risers, Fely's , Zola's, or Fat Irish before heading out for a day on the ocean or river to see if you get bragging rights after catching the one that did not get away. You can always try our seasonal shopping at the outdoor market or several of our many local shops, bakeries, or convenient stores.
For those in good shape or wanting to be healthy, leisurely walk or drive south not quite a mile to find either excitement or serenity. Explore coastal treats, read a good book (we have several local published authors), or sit under one of the local merchant’s umbrellas. Salmon Run Golf Course is only four miles from The Captain’s Quarters to one of nicest courses you can play.
Respite: This Oregon Coast retreat will make you relax and indulge yourself.
Parking Notes: Parking for 4 vehicles if free. Boat parking is also available.
No Pets
Other Things to Note:
Parking: 4 parking places plus boat parking.
Internet/Cell Phone Coverage/Utilities
WIFI can be difficult at times, it is normally very dependable, but it can be affected by coastal weather conditions. Most cell phones carriers get full reception at the property. Guests should be aware that issues related to coastal location can cause interruption throughout the year to both internet, utilities and cell phone reception that are outside host's control.

Great location! Very cute place. The shower is a little snug but other than that we loved it. We will be back!

We had so much fun! Had a little trouble checking in and a small issue with the hot tub but they were both taken care of by the next morning. Great location, close to a few great restaurants and little shops. Will definitely be back.

Property does present a bit different than I imagined, with only one "bedroom" (no closet or windows) the other beds are a murphy bed that drops down and a pull out couch both in the common area. But it was a great place! kid friendly, great location to shops and could just walk to the fishing charter in the morning. Our family would definitely stay again without hesitation. :) clean and easy to find.

Was a very clean, cozy, place. Location was good for convenience but very loud for traffic and light shine in windows all night. Shower is way to small. But over all nice place. Easy to get ahold of host and responded to needs quickly.

We very much enjoyed what is now our second stay at this location. Although there was an issue with the hot tub and I was unable to use it, Ron and his team made it right by us! We will definitely be staying here again in the future! Thank you again!

At first check in we thought the property was cute and would work for us to come back with our 2 kids to stay however, there were a number of things that disappointed us. First- the shower is WAY to small, no plus sized individuals would be able to comfortably shower in it. Second-most places supply complimentary coffee to be used, this one did not. Third- after the first night the door lock reset our code so we couldnt get it. And lastly- the check out instructions request that you start a load of laundry "to help their cleaning crew", but we found that we had to PAY to use the washing machine. I feel that if i pay nightly fee to stay at a house and a cleaning fee, I should not be required to pay money to use the onsite washing machine. I have stayed at numerous weekend rentals and have never had to do that. We will NOT rent from VRBO nor stay at this property again.

Overall we were happy with our experience. However when we first arrived the Hot Tub was gross. We couldn't even use it. The day we left we checked it again and it looked better but that was after it ran some cycles. So that was a bummer.

Amazing! Literally across the street from the harbor. Purchased fresh crab and tuna right off the boat. Loved the property and the hot tub was a bonus after hiking and hanging out at Secret Beach. Will definitely be coming back!!

We traveled to Brooking to play in baseball tournament! I was with teens and this location was perfect. Closer to restaurants, beach and ball fields. We had the convenience of fridgem, microwave and lots of living room to relax. Don't let the outside fool you, they have done a great job with the inside. We had good communication with the owner and didn't have any problems. We felt very safe, as well.

Stayed here for my birthday weekend. Rental was clean and well furnished. (Pictures do it no justice!) Very comfortable and despite being close to the road, it was extremely quiet! Great location right next to some excellent restaurants and the port. Management was a pleasure to work with. Very thoughtful and helpful! I'll definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for a memoriable weekend! :)

Everything was great, plenty of room, loved the location, close to everything we needed right at our fingertips, Hot tub was the best after a cold morning on a chartered fishing trip right there in the harbor! We had lots of fun😍. Thanks again!

Great location!
Location was great. Almost too great. Lots of traffic. It wasn't as clean as I would have thought it would be. Urine on the toilet, spilled food on the counter and I had to sweep before I could relax.
