Enjoyed the mountain feel but super close to everything. Don’t think I would walk since the street is a bit of a hike, but only a few minutes drive. Cabin is cute. Kids said “it’s a vibe” 😜 our puppy got to come along and go on our Helen adventure too. We had an intense game of Uno and enjoyed the hot tub.

Loved how close it was to downtown with the secluded feel of the woods.

Very nice cabin with plenty of space and in the woods. Very close to the town of Helen you can walk down the hill and be right in the city center.
Only recommendation I have is the maintenance needs to clean all the comb webs outside before somebody occupies the cabin. Also when we got heavy rain, the gutters are clogged, causing a pour down in front of the door.

Happy Camper was the perfect dog friendly spot for our weekend getaway. The cabin was the perfect size and was accurately listed. The location is fantastic, and we even got to see a family of deer. The only negative was the hot tub wasn’t hot. But other than that, we would gladly stay again.

I would recommend verifying everything is in order before guest arrives. We should have been made aware the hot tub wasn't available. The description said you could walk to town but it was a straight up long drive to far edge of town so not a convenient walk.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin is very close to town! Easy drive! Only unexpected thing was other cabins so close by. It didn’t bother us at all, but we were under the impression from the pictures that we were a little more secluded. Very cute cozy cabin!!

Wonderful property in Helen! The cabin was immaculate and cozy. It was so nice to find a dog friendly option! Our dogs loved walking around the wooded areas. The kitchen was small, but functional and the outside grill was such a plus! The property was very quiet and we loved the fireplace and large TV. The property is in walking distance to Helen, but there is a very steep drive leading up to the neighborhood that may be quite challenging for some. We highly recommend and would love to go back! Check out the BBQ place at the end of the drive leading to the neighborhood - it was great!

The property is a short 3-minute drive to downtown Helen which makes the location ideal for those who want to be close to town but have a more private feel. There is a narrow road leading to the property from the main road but we did not have any issues with it or accessing the private parking. We also brought our small dog and she enjoyed the stay. Communication was excellent/responsive and the property overall was nice, though there were a few minor issues with cleanliness such as with the floors.
5.0 / 5.0
Pros - Communications were prompt and friendly. We had an issue with the thermostat which they fixed right away. The decor was also cute and woodsy, which fit the location.
Cons - The property could use more interior lighting, especially in the dining area. Additionally, there were a few areas that didn't feel completely clean.

We had the best time visiting Helen GA and staying here! The cabin is perfectly cozy with everything we needed. Everything was nice and clean. It’s so peaceful to be so close to town. Our only complaint is the way too long door entry code.

Booked this for my friends birthday. It was the perfect location and had plenty of room for all of us. The decks were perfect and the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day. Would definitely stay here again. Also love that we could bring the dogs.

The cabin was close enough to the river to walk to Tubing.

The cabin itself was very nice for a couple's retreat, well furnished, and comfortable. We also booked the cabin to enjoy the hot tub after a couple of long hikes, but the hot tub was not working. Disappointed that it did not work, as we would have rated the Happy Camper a 5 otherwise.

The heat was out at our property when we got there. Also, the hot tub stayed on 66, we called about this malfunction as well and they said “they have a motor coming for it”. So, no heat until the next day- as they said they would relocate us, but instead sent maintenance.(interrupts our trip and plans). The hot tub wasn’t able to be used at all. The place was very dirty, the tub does not drain while taking a shower, and the toilet has nasty stains inside primary and out. The pictures posted for this property have high contrast filters on it, so don’t be fooled. Still awaiting a partial refund. Good luck, keep looking until you find a better vacation home! You won’t miss anything with this location.

I stayed at the Happy Camper in Helen, GA 12/26-12/29/2022. The home is very cute! Large porches, great seating area outside. The bathroom and living room are very spacious and the gas fireplace was great! We also enjoyed playing the cards and board games provided. The bedrooms are small but doable for average size people, the beds are also small (full size?) and the mattresses could use an upgrade. The hot tub was not working during our stay. We left it on for the duration of our stay hoping it would heat up, but it never reached over 60 degrees, so we were unable to enjoy that amenity. Other than the hot tub, I did not have an issue with the accommodations at all and likely would have left the review at that. However, I had a huge issue with VACASA, the management company of this property. On our second night there, we left to go to the laundromat (there is no washer and dryer in the home) and upon returning to the cabin around 7pm, I noticed the water wasn’t working. I reported the issue to Vacasa and also notified them about the hot tub at this time. Around 730pm 12/27, VACASA called and said that we would need to leave the property due to the water being out. I let them know that I would not be leaving that evening as I had started drinking. The lady told me she couldn’t authorize me to stay but she would would get with a supervisor to let them know and call me back. They did not call me back. I packed all my belongings that evening and loaded them up. I also started calling local hotels and none of them had pet friendly accommodations for the remainder of our stay. At that point, I emailed Vacasa and let them know that we could not find any other accommodations for the duration of our stay and asked how we could resolve the issue. I didn’t get a response or a call back. The water came back on just after 10pm. Yay, the issue is resolved, I thought, and shortly thereafter we went to bed. Upon waking up the next morning, I checked my Vacasa app and it said my checkout date was 12/27. I called Vacasa and was on the phone with them letting them know about the issue with the dates and that I was still in the cabin and would be until my checkout date 12/29. At that point they said, they had refunded half my money and in order to stay I would need to pay them the amount the refunded. The call disconnected shortly after that. I checked my banking app and called the bank, there was no refund or pending refund at the time. I called Vacasa back and got a different agent who was difficult to understand so I gave them my information and asked that the previous rep call me back so I would not have to reexplain the hour long disconnected call with another agent. She put that request in for me. We left the cabin and went to an Escape room. Upon leaving the escape room, I checked my banking app and Vacasa had charged my account for an additional $540 but still no refund or pending refund. I never authorized them to charge my (out of room for rest of review)

Perfect little cabin within walking distance to town. Feels pretty private depsite the fact that there are 3 other cabins next to and below it.
The Hot tub did not work, that was the biggest let down as I picked that cabin specifically because it had one.
Coffee maker also did not work, we had to go into town to get coffee first thing each morning.
We would definitely stay here again if the hot tub would work next time.

Cute getaway for a couple. Close to town but secluded enough even with 3 other cabins close. Ants were an issue but other than that it was perfect.
4.0 / 5.0
Pros: clean, cute cabin, close to downtown.
Cons: issues with AC, ants in kitchen and bathroom daily, hot tub broken for entire stay.
While they did send out techs to deal with our issues and did end up refunding us some money, none of the issues were actually able to be fixed during our stay. AC consistently couldn’t keep a temp under 75. If they could have fixed the issues with the ac and hot tub this would’ve been a really great stay. Property manager would only deal through email which was super frustrating.

We reserved the place for five days and ended up leaving in three.
We were a little disappointed. I had planned a getaway for our 37th anniversary. The day we arrived the hot tub was not working (one reason I picked this particular place). Once the sun went down, we tried the upper deck lights so we could sit at the outside table, and they did not work. Then the light over the stove was not working, and on the third morning the coffee maker quit.
However, a big plus, the cabin is within walking distance. First day was recon, second day was taking advantage of the attractions, and the third day was shopping. After that, without the hot tub and lighting, there was little to do.

Great Cabin- Close to Town!
This cabin was perfect for a family of three with dogs. We were close enough to town to walk, if needed, but also enjoyed the privacy of the cabin. The hot tub was great after a chilly tubing adventure!

Cabin was great
Beds and pillows was horrible. We woke up both night with hurt backs and necks. Otherwise cabin was great

A gorgeous cabin, very convenient and pleasant. The driveway up the hill has a very narrow path and we did dread meeting a truck on that narrow path, but luckilly that never happened (we noted a lot of narrow hill residential roadways in the area).
The hot tub was a nice addition and I think this is the only unit that has one in this little 5 unit project. The area is very private with only the 5 cabins nearby and only a few other homes on the entire hill.

Nice and quiet
This house was the perfect space and size for our family of 3 and 2 dogs. It's surrounded by woods and private even though it's next to other cabins but spaced apart. It's close to the town but seems like it's not which we liked. Keep in mind it is not walking distance to town however as you don't have any sidewalks on the road to get to the cabin and there is a steep part of the road. The hot tub we used once as it didn't seem like it had been cleaned in awhile and the water level was low. There are a lot of spider webs around the hot tub. There was a smell in the house that we let the property management know about. All in all it is a good place to stay and would be happy to visit again.

The Happy Camper was perfect! close to everything and in town!
The place was clean and very organized, I Would suggest having an extra set of sheets for the pull-out sofa other than that everything perfect for us, the kids had so much fun in the Hot Tub and even our dog Tahoe enjoyed the outdoors!
