Overall, we had a great stay. House was clean, beds comfortable and kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils and dishes. There were some spices, and cooking oil in the pantry when we arrived, probably left by previous guests. Internet connection was great so we were able to watch Netflix and other streaming channels for which we had accounts for. The house is not air conditioned (which we were aware of) but with all the fans on and windows opened, the breeze flowing through the house made it okay most of the time. The only thing that was a negative was the ability to see the house number and driveway entrance as the grass around the post and entrance was overgrown. We learnt to watch for the road marker for mile 20.0 then looked for the stop sign on the right side of the road a little further down from the marker, to locate the driveway entrance to the house on the left, when coming from Hilo. All-in-all, a pleasant stay.

We loved this place so much! Thoughtful furnishings, a very nice house, but best of all is the location! We saw whales, stars, goats, wild pigs, sunrises, ships and barges, beautiful waves, and fruit trees. It was peaceful and quiet—away from all the people and bustle. But a quick trip to Hilo and other small towns with amenities. Perfect location to go to Volcanoes or just anywhere on the island.

We loved the seclusion of the property. It was peaceful and quiet! The porch was wonder to sit on and enjoy the views. It was open and spacious, had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The book with all the o for in it was wonderful.

I would stay here again, but there are pros and cons and some things to be aware of. We had six adults in our party. The view is amazing, we saw whales swimming by. The sheep are so cute and very friendly. The house was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We did a lot of cooking. The location was really great…very quiet and peaceful. Nice road to walk on behind the house. No air conditioning, but with all of the windows open, there was a great cross breeze. Many fans included in each room, both ceiling fans and fans on the floor. You do have to supply your own drinking water, which I don’t remember reading in the description. We had a little trouble getting in. A code was provided for the top lock, but there was also a key needed. It was in a lock box, but the code was not provided. Luckily, we were able to get someone on the phone, with the phone number provided. There are two full bathrooms, only one is on the bottom floor with the three bedrooms. One is upstairs with the kitchen, dining and living rooms. Two of the three beds were really uncomfortable. The whole bed shakes when someone rolls over and is quite loud. Also, it felt like the middle of the beds was sunken in. The trash can outside is very small, the email I received said we had to take any overflow trash to the landfill. There are two landfills close by, but they are not open everyday. We almost missed our flight, attempting to find an open landfill. Some very nice parks and views close by…be sure to drive on the 4 mile scenic road nearby.

We loved how peaceful the location is. It was well stocked, a large space and had a nice view. Some spices and pantry items were nice to have since the location is remote. The box of cookies was a nice touch. Good value / price compared to similar size places on the island. The goats were nice esp if you have kids. Brochures & top tips guide for restaurants etc was handy. Leaving us sunscreen and lots of towels + nice toiletries was appreciated.
