About this apartment rental
You'll love the retro vibe of this updated flat. It's "in town" (above one of the best restaurants in Pacific Grove) yet the ocean is just a few blocks away. Start your morning with coffee at Juice 'n Java, explore fun shops, restaurants and galleries... or experience the many natural wonders of the Monterey Peninsula. When it's time to kick back, spin an LP on the vintage record player before heading downstairs for great Mexican food (tequila tasting anyone?). The apartment has peeks of the ocean, a King bed, a den, and a full kitchen (no dishwasher, but with so many great restaurants you probably won't need one). Street parking and city lot (first come, first serve). We'll supply the permit (one car). Pacific Grove Transient Use License #0477

We walked to Lover’s Point, the Monterey Aquarium, San Carlos Beach to see the sea loin take over. We walked to dinner in the area each night as well. A few driving outings: hiked in Carmel, went on the rail bike tour from Handcar tours. All from the great location in Pacific Grove.

Nice property in a great location

The location of this space is perfect! It’s also extremely clean and the bed very comfy. Ocean is a short walk away as are quaint restaurants. The Mexicali restaurant (Peppers) on the first level of building has great food and Margaritas! If there is anything we would change it would be the checkout time being 10 a.m. Most places have an 11:00 a.m. check out. Overall, this place is great!

Every amenity was perfectly described in the Virbo description as were the pictures. Very clean and welcoming. We were able to walk to Cannery Row (about 2 miles but a nice walking path along the coast made it pleasant). We rented e-bikes near by and rode the 17-mile drive around pebble beach golf course and stopping to take in the coast scenery along the way. Shops and restaurants were literally steps away. The Mexican restaurant below the condo has great Margaritas! Of course there is noise associated with being above the restaurant and so close to activities but they are tolerable and not constant. We would definitely come back again!

Really comfortable and clean. The staff was very responsive. When we had an issue with the entrance code there was someone on the phone immediately and fixed the problem immediately.
Everything was well was stocked, place was better than the pictures, lots of natural light. We will stay there again.
One thing I could say is that 11 AM is a more reasonable check out time, 10 AM is too early.

The place is perfectly located near downtown PG and the ocean. Great jumping off point for activities in the area.

All was perfect, the only thing from making it 5 star was the heat would not turn on and it got pretty chilly at night. I bet this can be easily fixed in the future.

Great stay, great location! Clean-very important! Only complaint would be no heat available had to use a space heater, no way to control temperature.

The Apartment is located over a small Mexican Restaurant, Peppers. The bedroom window is over the parking lot and outdoor dinning. Because there is no air conditioning and the floor fan in the bedroom did not work, we had to open the non screened window in the bedroom to be able to sleep. We did not go to bed early, but the noise from the restaurant and the parking lot was loud and kept us up and even woke us up in the night. The trash truck arrived at 3am one morning and was slamming dumpsters for over 40 minutes. There were no screens in the windows, so we were afraid to open them too far just incase the seagulls decided to visit. There were no curtains on two of the windows in the living area, so you kind of felt like you were in a fish bowl. Add some screens, curtains and a working fan and this would have been a 5 star rating. The location in the town is awesome, the apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. Peppers was convenient and they had good food. Several unique restaurants in walking distance and a short walk to the ocean.

The one-bedroom one-bath Hipster Vibe apartment was perfect for our weekend stay. The location is steps away from the main street of Lighthouse Avenue that boasts great restaurants, cute coffee houses, quaint stores, and the local movie theater! Our first night we didn't venture far and enjoyed dinner at the Mexican restaurant Peppers just downstairs from the apartment, and it has delicious food; try the chicken mole for a treat! The apartment is also just a few blocks from the Monterey Bay and Lovers Point. A great location to begin a walk or bike ride. The apartment was clean, spacious, and bright! We didn't cook, but pots, pans, utensils, and dishes are provided. I highly recommend the Hipster Vibe apartment for your trip to PG! (Note: Don't let the hallway carpet up the stairs to the apartment scare you. It is rather dated, but once you enter the apartment, all is great!)

Lovely spacious apartment in downtown pacific grove! Just a short drive or 30 min walk to downtown Monterey. I left some items and the manager was kind enough to call and tell me! Very responsive, great service

August 2022 a review touches on some of these points and has a response of: " All the improvements you suggested are in progress (or already supplied)." so I booked
The sodium lamp directly outside the bedroom window illuminating the parking lot is not blocked by the flimsy curtains, the bedroom sorely needs blackout curtains.
The gap in the entrance door is still visible and needs sealing for noise. Add to that the door lock not sealing without being pulled can be fixed with a trivial bit of handiwork, or tables need to be in the hall so you can set things down while you use both hands to close the door.
My only addition is, in 2023 I think memory foam bedding is the only way to go, the vintage bed with two box springs and a lump in the middle was not what I expect with any nice modern rental at this stage and was the worst bed of any rental in the past 3 years which includes properties in nicer locales for less. We bought our own bedding and pillows.
Otherwise it's great, but sleep is the foundation that makes a stay.

Loved this stay! Had a great time— such a perfect area to be around. Cannery row was super close, and plenty of beach area nearby to explore. Michael was very helpful when we had a fire alarm issue— he fixed the problem fast within the day. My only complaint would be the alarm. Although it got fixed… it was still very sensitive and would go off when we used the oven :( made cooking there a little stressful. Regardless, we would stay again! Thanks michael!

We stayed at this property during the US Women's Open Championship at Pebble Beach. It was very convenient to the course.
The apartment is great. Very roomy for two people. All of the dishes and utensils are clean and they look brand new. It is very easy to access. We were worried about possible parking issues, but we never had any difficulty and the parking is close.
Very convenient to multiple local restaurants, and it's a very short walk down to the beach, which is beautiful.

Wonderful location in Pacific Grove- even though it is not ON the water. We loved how close it was to the beach, and also to Lighthouse Ave for early morning coffee, dining, and shopping. Comfortable accommodations, well equipped kitchen, high ceilings, fun records and a great place to relax.

We walked everywhere from this spot. It is walkable to Lovers Point Beach, restaurants, shops, and the Natural History Museum. It is probably the cleanest vacation rental I have every stayed in. It was quiet and had everything we needed. I highly recommend.

Cozy, close to everything. We happened to book during the “Good Ol Days” festival. Excellent location for this event. We walked everywhere to restaurants, our spa retreat, ocean , festival. Great weekend.

Great, comfortable place in lovely Pacific Grove. Walking distance to beach and restaurants in PG, plus easy drive to Monterey. We loved our time here!

Second floor walk up perched with some ocean view over the house tops. Wonderful. Comfy bed and pillows. Kitchen ready if you choose to cook instead of walk to one the nearby restaurants. Would absolutely stay again.

This was such a nice apartment with a lot of space and very nicely decorated. There is a great Mexicali restaurant right downstairs that is clearly a locals favorite. Also, just a short walk away were many good restaurants. And I enjoyed walking down to the coast and along the walk with great views of otters, seals and vistas. Really nice place that also had parking. Only a few minutes drive to the aquarium or a half hour walk.

Had a great time. Did some bike riding, the 17 mile tour and aquarium as well as a cooking lesson from Thai is Fun which was excellent!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this property; just can't beat the location. Walking distance to local grocery market, shops, restaurants and the beach. Communication with the property manager was excellent.

The apartment and location were very, very good. Walk to Lovers Point or go only a mile to Cannery Row and the aquarium. The apartment is all newly remodeled and perfect. Great place to stay on Monterey Peninsula.

Hipster Vibe is in a perfect spot. The beach is visible from the bedroom and living room windows and aside from the downstairs restaurant you can find other places to eat within walking distance.
6.0
The best part about this rental is the location. It’s a short walk to Lover’s Point, and a 1-mile walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The flat is clean, with new furnishings and kitchen appliances.
A few improvements would change my rating from good to great:
1. ALL of the windows should have curtains for privacy and to block out light. The inside of the flat is quite visible at night from the street. The streetlight in the parking lot near the bedroom is bright and makes sleep difficult. We ended up putting a beach towel over the window so that we could sleep.
2. Some basic amenities are needed:
Kitchen: coffee filters, ice cube trays and an ice bin in the freezer, and a dishpan for doing dishes, since there isn’t a dishwasher.
Bedroom: light-blocking curtains (see above) and some extra bedding. It would be great to have an extra blanket or two for curling up on the couch.
Door: needs weatherstripping. There is a 1/2 in gap between the doorframe and the door.
The hot water faucet in the bathroom was leaking when we arrived, and the property manager was helpful about sending a plumber out right away.
Peppers Mexicali Cafe (just below the flat) is a great place to eat. We loved our meals there, and it couldn’t be more convenient. Be aware, though, that there is a fair amount of noise from the restaurant beginning early in the morning.

Lovers point was awesome. The seagulls took a little getting used to. The air was so fresh and moist we opened the windows and the temp was amazing.

We stayed in the apartment for three nights in June 2022.
The apartment was clean and spacious. It was a fun space to spend a few days in Pacific Grove, and we loved the Monterey Bay view (BRING BINOCULARS).
It was convenient to have the parking lot permit, but there was plenty of flexible free street parking available within a couple of blocks. It was an easy walk to the water (for viewing whale spouts from the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail) and to shops and restaurants. We appreciated that many restaurants had outdoor seating options.
Our host was accessible, and was quick to reply to our texted questions when we first arrived. And it was kind of him to check-in with a text to see if we needed any help or had any questions midway through our stay.
We look forward to staying again!

Cute, clean rental - airy and very bright
This was a very clean apartment with a great location. The retro record player was so fun! I didn't realize it was so close to the ocean and don't remember the posting touting the views. We had nice views from both the bedroom and living room windows. Just remember to pack your sleep mask as the sheer curtains in the bedroom didn't prevent the sun from shining in early in the morning. We had great weather when we stayed, but it did get slightly warm being on the second floor with highs in the low 70s.

Everything was perfect! Super easy instructions for parking, and what to do. The apartment was very clean and nice, and you can see the ocean when it’s not cloudy. We enjoyed our stay very much.
