Rumah Desa is a beautiful traditional Balinese house with an emphasis on local crafts and arts. The team speaks good english and can tell a lot about traditional wood carving, history of Bali and local traditions. Rooms are well equipped but have rats.
Unfortunately, our room has been infested with rats that kept running around late at night; my friend and I couldn't sleep. Our suite was also in the middle (!!!) of the hotel restaurant and every time we wanted to go inside the room or leave, we had to go through a crowd of people having breakfast or dinner. There was also a big problem arranging a transport to get out of the hotel. It is in a very remote location, so online or offline taxi will not come there. Arranging transfer through the staff was extremely difficult as they prioritized daily visitors of their traditional Balinese art tour rather than their hotel guests. After waiting 2 hours for someone to organize a car to Ubud for us, my friend and I decided to leave a day earlier and not stay the whole period that we booked. Also do not rent a scooter from them - they gave us a scooter that had a broken mirror, no honk or no (!!!) lights so we had to drive at night using the flashlight of our phone. Overall, would not recommend this place as a hotel but could be very interesting experience if you come for a day tour and not spend the night there.

The best thing about this accommodation is that it is a really beautiful place to stay.
Silence at night and good rooms with airconditioning.
Scooter rental is also possible.
Accommodation service is not their main business.
It is difficult to find restaurants nearby late at night.

The traditional house, in the middle of authentic traditional Balinese village. Recommended for those who wants to experience the traditional life of Balinese. Staff were super helpful
The room that I booked has no window. Room could have been cleaner. Internet connection in the area was quite limited. Since it is far from bustling city, I would suggest anyone who wants to stay here to arrive before sunset as the road can be really dark

It was the most authentic and magical place in Bali where I have ever stayed in. We loved the program in the hotel about Balinese traditions, architecture, Balinese alphabet, the process of production of the coconut oil and now we know how to grow rice in the rice fields. Our guide was a wonderful girl Ayu who answered to all our questions.
