Long walk
3.5 / 5.0
A peaceful, quiet place and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
The rooms are small and lack the comfort we were looking for (ie. Poor lighting; showers pressure is slow and not hot water in the sink.

The best thing about this place is its very clean, the room vas very nice and it was so relaxing and quiet. Ot was a mountainside location so if you love nature this is it. Wifi is strong and tv even has Netflix. Water is good.
Road destroyed by flood. You don’t have parking, if you have a lot of luggage this will be difficult for you. And they didn’t even tell us. Its not in their email though they keep saying that it was in the confirmation they sent. Food was so so, they say they have an in-house chef but its not true as she was never around.
So we asked for assistance for our luggage to the guy working at Shire and i was planning to give a tip but I needed to put our things inside our room. Then my partner heard the guy saying bad words behind our back. Despite that we still gave the guy a tip.

The building and space was beautifully designed in a quite location.
The girl on the front desk didn't know much about the area or tours as she wasn't from there!

The location of the Shire was one of the places I've dreamt of living in. Serene, green, away from the buzzing center. It was only less than 5 mins walk from the car park so no Hussle. It felt very homey, not the typical hotel vibe since the facilities are designed as a proper home. the view from the balcony is superb. i woke up early morning to the fresh breeze. Our room was just enough for me and my guest. In all my travels, one of first and important thing I always consider is the Bathroom and the Shire exceeded my expectations. Everything in the area is clean.

unique architecture; friendly staff
location was hard to find, dirt roads leading to the “parking lot” of the property were narrow, rocky and surface was uneven, then we had to navigate through a very narrow walkway on foot about 100 ft distance to the lodging. if you arrived at dark, good luck!
the 7:00 am published breakfast schedule on booking.com was incorrect. we almost missed a prepaid tour at 8 am because our included breakfast was not served until 7:35 am.
right outside our window was a pile of kitchen garbage and opened trash bags that rats or raccoons could have rummaged through the night before.

good design, courteous staff
there’s a piggery nearby so can’t open the windows because of the foul smell

Breakfast was good but very limited in choise.
Due to weather circumstances we wanted to shorten our stay with one day . The manager was very understanding and agreed without any problem. Very professional. Thank you Michele !
.
The rooms are very small and have no airco . During our stay was the weather not that good but during warm days it could maybe be a problem .

The staff was very accommodating and made sure we are attended to. The food was great and kudos to Chef She who did a great job. The hotel and room were very cozy. Although the location is in the outskirts of town, I believe that adds up to the great feel of the place.
The price of the food was quite high although I should say the potions were big. For a couple who eats less not (close to senior) we feels that we will order just one food so that we need not waste so much. If only they can have lower portions at lower price, then we can order more viands to our meal.

The shire of Sagada seems to be the best of class accommodation in Sagada, with it’s unique architecture based on Lord of the Rings. Staff were very helpful and nice
It is located about 10 min walk uphill from the Sagada tourist center.
Our room was very nice but relatively small.

Ambience, service, cleanliness😊
Long narrow walk from parking not comfortable with kids and elderly

It really gave off the Lord of the Rings / Hobbit vibe. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice, we had a great view when we step outside, and it was away from the noise of the town. There were also no mosquitoes so it was definitely a plus for me. The breakfast and coffee that came with our booking was also pretty good.
The food was overpriced and they don't even list the prices of the food, you have to ask. On our first day, we arrived late so we decided to have dinner there. We were told the korean pork was good for 2-3 people so we got it, plus 1 rice and a couple of beers. We knew the beers were 100 each for a local brand can, but we were surprised when the bill came and the Korean Pork was 800 pesos alone! It wasn't even 1 kilo of pork.
In our 3 night stay there, not once did we get asked if we wanted our room made up. All the other hotels or hostels we stayed at would at least give us that option so we could say yes or no to it.
The noise also traveled badly within the place. Not sure if it was the thin doors or something, but we could loudly hear whatever was going whether it was near our door or inside the food hall.
Another thing that put us off was when we were moving out to a different hotel, the owner saw us and asked if we didn't like the hotel so we're moving out. We explained we liked The Shire but we're just on a budget, so we're moving elsewhere. Then he offered to give us a ride to town. We thought it would be free with the way he asked, but turns out he wanted to charge 200 pesos for a less than 600m ride to town. He's even more expensive than a taxi who uses a proper meter.
