It was clean on first impression, the owners have made the effort to make it look nice.
The bed and sofa are very uncomfortable. The skylite need cleaning.

Very quiet. Beautiful accommodation, perfect for a single person or couple. Well appointed, owner resolved a blown light bulb quickly. I would advise taking a bin bag for non recycling other than that it had everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable with a lovely firm mattress and thick duvet. I would recommend taking a sleep mask as daylight streams through the skylight over the bed and i didn't want daylight at 6am. The Castle Inn pub/restaurant is a short drive / 15-20 min walk and has an extensive menu (cheesy chips were lovely) but be aware they close the restaurant at 7.45 and close the pub when people have left (we were last in and they started to turn the lights off at 9).
There is little mobile signal and no WiFi. I had purchased extra data having seen another review, but there wasn't enough signal for me to tether another device to my phone. Not the end of the world as I was only really there overnight but if WiFi /signal is a concern for you then this needs to be considered.

There is no way to heat the place when you want to. The controls are in the owner’s house and they were told twice it was too cold but nothing changed. It was freezing.
The oven is an old gas oven and you have to light it on your hands and knees with a lighter - there is no carbon monoxide alarm and there are no safety certificates which are required to be done yearly with this type of oven.
The location is ok, there is nothing around and its quite far to drive anywhere. The bed is small but ok comfort-wise.
Booking.com originally had noted there was Wi-Fi in the amenities and when I told them there was not, they edited the website, but this was very frustrating as we booked it as a guest needed to use for work.
There is a smart TV but you can't use it as there is no Wi-Fi - so it’s pointless.
Lacking in certain things that would make the place better - there is nowhere to dry clothes, there are no baking trays and the dish towel wasn't great/small and so the guests we booked this place for had to borrow our tea towels.
We complained about the above – both during and after the stay, both in person to the owners about the heating and then to Skyes and booking.com about the rest, but apparently because one of my partners parents said was nice when they left, then that rendered all the complaints null and void apparently.
Also be aware, this is run by Skyes Cottages and not booking.com - booking.com will not respond to anything and Skyes Cottages will also be unhelpful.

It was clean and owner was very nice. Location was lovely.
Bed was not very comfy, shower very slippery my husband nearly fell over. Facilities to wash clothes but not to dry so after finding a launderette too expensive we purchased an airer to dry our clothes on.

The sky lights meant we woke up early as there was no way to block out the light

It was very clean and had everything we needed and wanted.
That the property is not dog friendly if it was we would rent this property every time we visit our family
