About this cabin rental

With its iconic grass-covered dome, round windows and glowing lights by the front door, this elegant underground house looks like it’s been pulled straight from the pages of a fairytale. Set within the peaceful surroundings of Rookery Farm in Wells, the property offers families a stunning countryside escape where everyone (including grown-ups) can let their imaginations run wild.

Forget dark and gloomy. Quackers may be semi-subterranean but there’s nothing drab about its light-filled and beautifully designed space. Expect the most luxurious of touches throughout like underfloor heating blue tooth ceiling speakers and led colour lights. Materials like wood and brick lend a rustic chic, while meticulous styling and contemporary furnishings mean visiting guests will be able to unwind in complete comfort. Inside you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen complete with stools and breakfast bar where home-cooked dinners can be rustled up and enjoyed together, as well as a lovely lounge with its deliciously plush sofa along with a flat screen TV for movie nights. The two wonderful en suite bedrooms really amp up the glam and you’ll be tempted to indulge in an extra hour or two of sleep in the mornings on sumptuous king size beds that sit beneath great circular windows.

Outside there’s more to discover. A magical garden with countryside views and a paved patio with picnic bench for alfresco dining as well as a marvellous private wood-fired hot tub where you and the kids can do a bit of stargazing. Pack a picnic and venture into the sprawling Somerset countryside. The onsite Reckless Desserts busts with delicious goodies for you to stock up your hamper along the way, or you can enjoy breakfast (or lunch or both) at Hartleys Kitchen which also does takeaways. Set within easy reach of a host of trails and countryside walks, this home is also within easy reach of the architecturally beautiful city of Wells meaning plenty to see and do whilst visiting, and for those who fancy something a little closer to home there are fantastic amenities on site that include treatment rooms, a gym and a café bistro

There is a £30 wood package available for the hot tub. This includes the hot tub being lit prior to arrival and a supply of wood provided for your stay. This needs to be requested with the site owner prior to arrival. Guests are welcome to bring their own wood if they prefer though.

Good Housekeeping Bond
We ask our guests for a £125 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

Infants are not bookable due to the reason that there is no room in the bedrooms for a travel cot

Had an amazing stay in June from Friday to Monday for my wife's 50th along with my 14 year old daughter and dog, 10 out of 10!! Host so welcoming with great accommodation, brilliantly situated and if you get a chance to go to The Litton for food you will not be disappointed!

Quackers the little burrow is an absolutely amazing place to stay. As drive down the lane with the beautiful lights and pull up on the car park the view is surreal. If you are a fan of the hobbit or not this property just blows your breath away. We had the best time there the hot tub is an extra bonus to an already amazing place heated flooring beautiful lights and everything you need to make your trip perfect. Everything was 10 out of 10 you could not get any better! Adelle the host is brilliant and very attentive i don't think I have ever had a nicer host! I highly recommend this property and will definitely be back with the family!

Quackers was a lovely quirky hobbitt house, with everything we needed provided. When the internet went down because of the amount of rain which we had, the owner dealt with it within minutes or reporting it. The little cafe just up the lane was a good find as well, lovely food at reasonable prices. Difficult finding a taxi to take you to local pub, but managed it in the end

Adelle was so lovely and accommodating. My partner and I had a lovely stay for his birthday. It was even better than we thought it looked online!! We utilised the hot tub and the kitchen area and just stayed in and cooked our own meals. There was a co-op a 10 min drive away for anything we needed and a few other amenities on the farm complex itself. Really lovely little escape in a beautiful part of Somerset. Most things for days out are 20 /30 min drive away e.g Glastonbury, bath, cheddar gorge, stone henge so it’s in the middle of everything. Thanks for having us :)

We had a wonderful time staying at Quackers. The kids absolutely adored it. All the facilities were great and when we had a minor issue with the shower it was sorted straight away and we were offered a free breakfast for our trouble. Clean and very comfortable. Great beds! And the hot tub! Such a treat! Close to Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge. Highly recommended. I would stay here again without hesitation.

We stayed with two tweenagers and they were so excited to see their "Rabbit Hole", as they had nicknamed it. Even more excited to discover the hot tub - keeping that lit proved a challenge in the wild December weather! The neighbouring cows seemed bemused by the giggles! A beautiful hideaway with gorgeous Christmas decorations! Small but perfectly formed accommodation. The bedrooms were fabulous and comfy, each with ensuite shower. Staying during winter did mean a bit of condensation, as it was rather wet and cold to keep windows open. We were able to contact owner easily and she sorted out a couple of little issues. The sofa settee was not the most comfortable but was fine - rather cosy for four! As we were staying out of season the cafe/bistro was closed so we had to immediately sort out essentials. No milk, tea, coffee, etc provided. This could be an additional option, if required. As we have family in the local village we knew where toget supplies - Wells is only a few minutes drive away.
