About this cabin rental
Right on the river! Enjoy our 5 acres of secluded mountain forest perfect for getting out of the city and into nature. Just down the road from us is 37,000 acres of wildlife management area. Fish right from our deck or the riverbank. Deer and turkey abound. We are only 7 miles away from Crater of Diamonds State Park. 18 miles from Glenwood where you can kayak the Caddo River. 35 miles from Caddo Gap hiking trails and our favorite, Winding Stair hike. Bring your ATVs for nearby trails. Lake Greeson is 6 miles away and offers pontoon rentals, and boating activities. King bedroom that has the queen sleeper sofa is a DETATCHED grandmothers suite and the bunkroom on the ground floor of the main cabin with the kitchen. The property is remote and it would be difficult for a Porshe to manage the road, our neighbors Prius made the trip.... any SUV is fine. The gravel road into the cabin is a mile long and has some steep hills. The cabin is not really designed for large people. The ceiling height in the kitchen, bunk room and outdoor kitchen area is 6'2" , the indoor staircase is relatively narrow and the furniture is not designed for large people over 250 lbs. The bunks in the bunk room are really made for kids even though they are regular size twin bunks, they are not built to hold a lot of weight.

If you are looking for relaxing and fun for the family I would highly recommend. 10 mins from crater of diamonds yet it feels like you are in your own world when you are at the “cabin”.

You will enjoy this cabin. The separate “mother-in-law” room was perfect for our young adult son. The bunk room was a very dark and had no windows. One grandson loved that, the other chose to sleep on the couch.
We thoroughly enjoyed the river. The host provided tubes. The kids and I walked up the river and floated down so many times. The fishing was ok. Nothing at first, then we bought some crickets and began catching little perch.
The kitchen was well equipped with the exception of disposable items. Pack your own paper goods and foil.
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Our family had a wonderful stay while visiting the Crater of Diamonds. The property was well appointed and instructions and directions were spot on. The generator even allowed us to have power and stay comfortable while the remnants of Hurricane Beryl came through The entire property was gorgeous and perfect for a family getaway, highly recommend!

Cabin was amazing. Beds were very comfortable. The property was so nice well kept and the river is right in the back of the property. We had does and spotted fawns in the yard with us all week Not spooked by us. Really cool to see. The drive in after the gate. Make sure you can get up and down a few gravel hills not for smaller low vehicles. But when you get to the cabin.... Oh boy it is so nice and so quiet. Deer Turkey Otters. Snakes only 3 for us on the road. We loved our stay. Oklahoma Texas and Louisiana are only a little over a hour away .cant wait to go back.

Just what we needed. Secluded by the water with a walk way all the way to the water. We had the option of horseshoes and an outside fireplace. I loved to see they had a small orchid. Definitely private and the house felt like home! We had no problems or disappointments here. Good communication with host and we had everything we needed to prepare meals. We had no worries and it suited our needs! Beautiful place!!

We loved this property. We walked along the river and explored a bit. Fished off the dock, watched the deer, and built fires at night. Almost all of our time was spent outdoors. Beds were very comfortable. My husband loved the outdoor kitchen, too. The owners were absolutely great!

Our stay was relaxing, enjoyable and peaceful! Everything you need for a stay is provided, even the firewood! Which is a huge plus for us! The town of Murfreesboro provides fun brick and mortar shopping! We had a great time digging for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park! We hope to return to enjoy the Little Missouri River for fishing, swimming and kayaking when its warmer! Thank you to Colleen and Scott for being awesome hosts!

This was the perfect getaway for us. Very quiet and peaceful. The river running through the backyard added to the tranquility. We watched deer and squirrels every day. The cabin was nicely furnished. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had spices and condiments seldom found in VRBO rentals. We spent most of our time sitting on the outside decks and porches. We will definitely stay again if in that area.

I can not say enough about this place. The house was perfect for what we needed. Plenty of space. If you are with a bigger family you’ll enjoy eating outdoors. The property was so peaceful and the river was amazing. You can walk thru in the mornings and then float in the afternoon. The Maddox’s are great owners. Any questions or concerns, they would answer right away. Great place for a getaway. ~Finke’s

We had a very quiet, relaxing week at the cabin. Our favorite things to do were play cards on the deck over the water when the dam opened up, leaf boat races in the creek after it rained and watching for deer in the mornings and evenings and of course playing in the river. We had plenty of space for our family of 5 and the cabin is stocked with everything you might need. We had a great time!

It was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the patio and outside fireplace. The only problem was the inside stairs. I was always afraid I was going to fall. We used the outside stairs mostly.

A great old friends getaway deep in the woods with extreme privacy. Fishing was great and the outdoor space is amazing. No complaints about anything. The owners are very responsive and check to maye sure you have a great experience. The road getting in was hilly and quite fun to drive, 4×4 is recommended but a 2 wd could get down the road as well

Lovely cabin, beautiful natural surroundings, plenty of outdoor entertaining space. The three mile driveway is definitely not for the faint of heart. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We were stunned by the beauty of the place. The listing does not do it justice. My kids loved playing on the decks during our stay and getting to enjoy the river anytime they pleased. We will definitely be returning.

We had a great time at this cabin. The road in is a bit steep but added to the adventure. The cabin itself was really nice and there are some well thought out features like the light switch at the bottom of the stairs. The deck was perfect for family dinners and the flat top griddle made cooking meals easy. The river access is perfect! We are new to trout fishing so we didn’t catch any but we saw plenty in the clear waters. Be mindful of the dam schedule as the river changes a lot in the course of an hour. We will definitely be back

We had a great, relaxing stay over the Christmas holiday...even with the cold weather! We enjoyed sitting out by the fire, still got in some fishing once it warmed up some, and the did some hiking on trails about an hour away in the Ouachita National Forest. We would definitely go back!

Beautiful spot! We came down for a small family get-together and some fly fishing, and really enjoyed our stay here. The owner was very friendly, helpful, and informative throughout the process. River access is perfect and exactly what you want for fly fishing. It's also a short drive to the dam where they do the trout stocking. The remoteness adds to the beauty and overall peacefulness of the property itself. Yes the roads can be a bit steep but one of our group made it out during a rain storm in a Chevy Malibu. Highly recommend.

My entire family absolutely adored everything about our stay in this cabin. The location was perfect: beautiful, isolated, quiet, and peaceful, which was exactly what we were looking for. We spent a lot of time enjoying the river, and the kids had so much fun floating in tubes, wading, looking for rocks, and exploring. We loved everything about the cabin. It was very clean, nicely decorated, and quite cozy and comfortable, with plenty of space for our family of six and more than enough beds for everyone. I especially liked drinking coffee on the porch overlooking the river in the mornings, surrounded by gorgeous tall trees and deer casually strolling by. Simply spectacular. Scott was very friendly, kind, and attentive and I really appreciated how well he communicated with us about any and everything we needed.
Now, I did have to close my eyes a few times as my husband drove the steep hills on the drive in, but the kids liked pretending they were on a rollercoaster! They are already asking when we can go back. Hopefully sooner than later!

Absolute gem! If you are looking for an escape from reality, you found it here! The location was incredible, right on the Little Missouri River! The cabin felt so roomy with all the different areas to lounge and relax, we watched deer every morning with our coffee. We splashed in the river, fished, took advantage of some area ATV trails, had dinner on the deck while we watched the river flow! Owners were so friendly and provided great tips for travel and fun. 100% recommend this place!!

Everything about this property is outstanding. It is quiet, lots of wildlife, and just invites you into enjoying God's creation. We had a great time just relaxing, watching the deer and listening to the river. It is everything the listing says it is. The cabin had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave.
